1 The prophet, calling for justice, complaineth of tyranny and impiety. 8 He teacheth God's providence. 12 He sheweth the blessedness of affliction. 16 God is the defender of the afflicted.

How 4970 long 5704 4970 shall the wicked 7563, O LORD 3068, How 4970 long 5704 4970 shall the wicked 7563 exult 5937?

They pour 5042 forth 5042 [words], they speak 1696 arrogantly 6277; All 3605 who do 6466 wickedness 205 vaunt 559 themselves.

They crush 1792 Your people 5971a, O LORD 3068, And afflict 6031a Your heritage 5159.

They slay 2026 the widow 490 and the stranger 1616 And murder 7523 the orphans 3490.

They have said 559, “The LORD 3050 does not see 7200, Nor 3808 does the God 430 of Jacob 3290 pay 995 heed 995.”

¶ Pay 995 heed 995, you senseless 1197b among the people 5971a; And when 4970 will you understand 7919a, stupid 3684 ones 3684?

He who planted 5193 the ear 241, does He not hear 8085? He who formed 3335 the eye 5869, does He not see 5027?

He who chastens 3256 the nations 1471, will He not rebuke 3198, [Even] He who teaches 3925 man 120 knowledge 1847?

The LORD 3068 knows 3045 the thoughts 4284 of man 120, That they are a [mere] breath 1892.

¶ Blessed 835 is the man 1397 whom 834 You chasten 3256, O LORD 3050, And whom You teach 3925 out of Your law 8451;

That You may grant 8252 him relief 8252 from the days 3117 of adversity 7451b, Until 5704 a pit 7845 is dug 3738a for the wicked 7563.

For the LORD 3068 will not abandon 5203 His people 5971a, Nor 3808 will He forsake 5800a His inheritance 5159.
