Psalms 73
1 The prophet, prevailing in a temptation, 2 sheweth the occasion thereof, the prosperity of the wicked: 13 the wound given thereby, diffidence. 15 The victory over it, knowledge of God's purpose, in destroying of the wicked, and sustaining the righteous.

73:1
[[A Psalm of Asaph.]] Surely 389 God 430 is good 2896a to Israel 3478, To those who 1249 are pure 1249 in heart 3824!

73:2
But as for me, my feet 7272 came 5186 close 4592 to stumbling 5186, My steps 804a had almost 369 slipped 8210.

73:3
For I was envious 7065 of the arrogant 1984b [As] I saw 7200 the prosperity 7965 of the wicked 7563.

73:4
For there 369 are no 369 pains 2784 in their death 4194, And their body 193a is fat 1277.

73:5
They are not in trouble 5999 [as other] men 582, Nor 3808 are they plagued 5060 like 5973 mankind 120.

73:6
Therefore 3651 pride 1346 is their necklace 6059; The garment 7897 of violence 2555 covers 5848b them.

73:7
Their eye 5869 bulges 3318 from fatness 2459; The imaginations 4906 of [their] heart 3824 run 5674a riot 5674a.

73:8
They mock 4167 and wickedly 7451b speak 1696 of oppression 6233; They speak 1696 from on high 4791.

73:9
They have set 7896 their mouth 6310 against the heavens 8064, And their tongue 3956 parades 1980 through the earth 776.

73:10
¶ Therefore 3651 his people 5971a return 7725 to this 1988 place 1988, And waters 4325 of abundance 4392 are drunk 4680 by them.

73:11
They say 559, “How 351a does God 410 know 3045? And is there 3426 knowledge 1844 with the Most 5945b High 5945b?”

73:12
Behold 2009, these 428 are the wicked 7563; And always 5769 at ease 7961, they have increased 7685 [in] wealth 2428.

73:13
Surely 389 in vain 7385b I have kept 2135 my heart 3824 pure 2135 And washed 7364 my hands 3709 in innocence 5356;

73:14
For I have been stricken 5060 all 3605 day 3117 long And chastened 8433b every morning 1242.

73:15
¶ If 518 I had said 559, “I will speak 5608 thus 3644,” Behold 2009, I would have betrayed 898 the generation 1755 of Your children 1121.

73:16
When I pondered 2803 to understand 3045 this 384, It was troublesome 5999 in my sight 5869

73:17
Until 5704 I came 935 into the sanctuary 4720 of God 410; [Then] I perceived 995 their end 319.

73:18
Surely 389 You set 7896 them in slippery 2513b places 2513b; You cast 5307 them down 5307 to destruction 4376.

73:19
How 349 they are destroyed 8047 in a moment 7281! They are utterly 8552 swept 5486 away 5486 by sudden 1091 terrors 1091!

73:20
Like a dream 2472 when 4480 one awakes 7019a, O Lord 136, when aroused 5782, You will despise 959 their form 6754.

73:21
¶ When 3588 my heart 3824 was embittered 2556a And I was pierced 8150 within 3629,

73:22
Then I was senseless 1198 and ignorant 3808 3045; I was [like] a beast 929 before 5973 You.

73:23
Nevertheless I am continually 8548 with You; You have taken 270 hold 270 of my right 3225 hand 3027.

73:24
With Your counsel 6098 You will guide 5148 me, And afterward 310 receive 3947 me to glory 3519b.

73:25
¶ Whom 4310 have I in heaven 8064 [but You]? And besides 5973 You, I desire 2654a nothing 3808 on earth 776.

73:26
My flesh 7607 and my heart 3824 may fail 3615, But God 430 is the strength 6697 of my heart 3824 and my portion 2506 forever 5769.

73:27
For, behold 2009, those who are far 7369 from You will perish 6; You have destroyed 6789 all 3605 those who are unfaithful 2181 to You.

73:28
But as for me, the nearness 7132 of God 430 is my good 2896a; I have made 7896 the Lord 136 GOD 3068 my refuge 4268, That I may tell 5608 of all 3605 Your works 4399.
