Psalms 52

1 David, condemning the spitefulness of Doeg, prophesieth his destruction. 6 The righteous shall rejoice at it. 8 David, upon his confidence in God's mercy, giveth thanks.

 52:1 [[For the choir director. A Maskil of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul and said to him, “David has come to the house of Ahimelech.”]] Why 4100 do you boast 1984b in evil 7463a, O mighty 1368 man 1368? The lovingkindness 2617a of God 410 [endures] all 3605 day 3117 long.

 52:2 Your tongue 3956 devises 2803 destruction 1942, Like a sharp 3913 razor 8593, O worker 6213a of deceit 7423a.

 52:3 You love 157 evil 7451b more 4480 than 4480 good 2896b, Falsehood 8267 more 4480 than 4480 speaking 1696 what 6664 is right 6664. Selah 5542.

 52:4 You love 157 all 3605 words 1697 that devour 1105, O deceitful 4820 tongue 3956.

 52:5 ¶ But God 410 will break 5422 you down 5422 forever 5331; He will snatch 2846 you up and tear 5255 you away 5255 from [your] tent 168, And uproot 8327 you from the land 776 of the living 2416a. Selah 5542.

 52:6 The righteous 6662 will see 7200 and fear 3372a, And will laugh 7832 at him, [saying],

 52:7 “Behold 2009, the man 1397 who would not make 7760 God 430 his refuge 4581, But trusted 982 in the abundance 7230 of his riches 6239 [And] was strong 5810 in his [evil] desire 1942.”

 52:8 ¶ But as for me, I am like a green 7488 olive 2132 tree 2132 in the house 1004 of God 430; I trust 982 in the lovingkindness 2617a of God 430 forever 5769 and ever 5703.

 52:9 I will give 3034 You thanks 3034 forever 5769, because 3588 You have done 6213a [it], And I will wait 6960a on Your name 8034, for [it is] good 2896a, in the presence 5048 of Your godly 2623 ones 2623.
