Psalms 17

1 David, in confidence of his integrity, craveth defence of God against his enemies. 10 He sheweth their pride, craft, and eagerness. 13 He prayeth against them in confidence of his hope.

 17:1 [[A Prayer of David.]] Hear 8085 a just 6664 cause 6664, O LORD 3068, give 7181 heed 7181 to my cry 7440; Give 238 ear 238 to my prayer 8605, which is not from deceitful 4820 lips 8193.

 17:2 Let my judgment 4941 come 3318 forth 3318 from Your presence 6440; Let Your eyes 5869 look 2372 with equity 4339.

 17:3 You have tried 974 my heart 3820; You have visited 6485 [me] by night 3915; You have tested 6884 me and You find 4672 nothing 1077; I have purposed 2161 that my mouth 6310 will not transgress 5674a.

 17:4 As for the deeds 6468 of men 120, by the word 1697 of Your lips 8193 I have kept 8104 from the paths 734 of the violent 6530.

 17:5 My steps 804a have held 8551 fast 8551 to Your paths 4570. My feet 6471 have not slipped 4131.

 17:6 ¶ I have called 7121 upon You, for You will answer 6030a me, O God 410; Incline 5186 Your ear 241 to me, hear 8085 my speech 565a.

 17:7 Wondrously 6395 show 6395 Your lovingkindness 2617a, O Savior 3467 of those who take 2620 refuge 2620 at Your right 3225 hand 3225 From those who rise 6965 up [against them].

 17:8 Keep 8104 me as the apple 380 of the eye 5869; Hide 5641 me in the shadow 6738 of Your wings 3671

 17:9 From the wicked 7563 who despoil 7703 me, My deadly 5315 enemies 340 who surround 5362b me.

 17:10 They have closed 5462 their unfeeling 2459 [heart], With their mouth 6310 they speak 1696 proudly 1348.

 17:11 They have now 6258 surrounded 5437 us in our steps 838; They set 7896 their eyes 5869 to cast 5186 [us] down 5186 to the ground 776.

 17:12 He is like 1825 a lion 743b that is eager 3700 to tear 2963, And as a young 3715 lion 3715 lurking 3427 in hiding 4565 places 4565.

 17:13 ¶ Arise 6965, O LORD 3068, confront 6923 him, bring 3766 him low 3766; Deliver 6403 my soul 5315 from the wicked 7563 with Your sword 2719,

 17:14 From men 4962 with Your hand 3027, O LORD 3068, From men 4962 of the world 2465, whose portion 2506 is in [this] life 2425b, And whose belly 990 You fill 4390 with Your treasure 6840; They are satisfied 7646 with children 1121, And leave 5117 their abundance 3499a to their babes 5768.

 17:15 As for me, I shall behold 2372 Your face 6440 in righteousness 6664; I will be satisfied 7646 with Your likeness 8544 when I awake 7019a.
