Psalms 22

1 David complaineth in great discouragement. 9 He prayeth in great distress. 23 He praiseth God.

 22:1 [[For the choir director; upon Aijeleth Hashshahar. A Psalm of David.]] My God 410, my God 410, why 4100 have You forsaken 5800a me? Far 7350 from my deliverance 3444 are the words 1697 of my groaning 7581.

 22:2 O my God 430, I cry 7121 by day 3119, but You do not answer 6030a; And by night 3915, but I have no 3808 rest 1747.

 22:3 Yet You are holy 6918, O You who are enthroned 3427 upon the praises 8416 of Israel 3478.

 22:4 In You our fathers 1 trusted 982; They trusted 982 and You delivered 6403 them.

 22:5 To You they cried 2199 out and were delivered 4422; In You they trusted 982 and were not disappointed 954.

 22:6 ¶ But I am a worm 8439b and not a man 376, A reproach 2781 of men 120 and despised 959 by the people 5971a.

 22:7 All 3605 who see 7200 me sneer 3932 at me; They separate 6362 with the lip 8193, they wag 5128 the head 7218, [saying],

 22:8 “Commit 1556 [yourself] to the LORD 3068; let Him deliver 6403 him; Let Him rescue 5337 him, because 3588 He delights 2654a in him.”

 22:9 ¶ Yet 3588 You are He who brought 1518 me forth 1518 from the womb 990; You made me trust 982 [when] upon my mother’s 517 breasts 7699a.

 22:10 Upon You I was cast 7993 from birth 7358; You have been my God 410 from my mother’s 517 womb 990.

 22:11 ¶ Be not far 7368 from me, for trouble 6869a is near 7138; For there 369 is none 369 to help 5826.

 22:12 Many 7227a bulls 6499 have surrounded 5437 me; Strong 47 [bulls] of Bashan 1316 have encircled 3803 me.

 22:13 They open 6475 wide 6475 their mouth 6310 at me, As a ravening 2963 and a roaring 7580 lion 743b.

 22:14 I am poured 8210 out like water 4325, And all 3605 my bones 6106 are out of joint 6504; My heart 3820 is like wax 1749; It is melted 4549 within 8432 me.

 22:15 My strength 3581b is dried 3001 up like a potsherd 2789, And my tongue 3956 cleaves 1692 to my jaws 4455b; And You lay 8239 me in the dust 6083 of death 4194.

 22:16 For dogs 3611 have surrounded 5437 me; A band 5712 of evildoers 7489a has encompassed 5362b me; They pierced 3564b my hands 3027 and my feet 7272.

 22:17 I can count 5608 all 3605 my bones 6106. They look 5027, they stare 7200 at me;

 22:18 They divide 2505a my garments 899b among them, And for my clothing 3830 they cast 5307 lots 1486.

 22:19 ¶ But You, O LORD 3068, be not far 7368 off; O You my help 360, hasten 2363a to my assistance 5833.

 22:20 Deliver 5337 my soul 5315 from the sword 2719, My only 3173 [life] from the power 3027 of the dog 3611.

 22:21 Save 3467 me from the lion’s 743b mouth 6310; From the horns 7161 of the wild 7214 oxen 7214 You answer 6030a me.

 22:22 ¶ I will tell 5608 of Your name 8034 to my brethren 251; In the midst 8432 of the assembly 6951 I will praise 1984b You.

 22:23 You who fear 3372a the LORD 3068, praise 1984b Him; All 3605 you descendants 2233 of Jacob 3290, glorify 3513 Him, And stand 1481c in awe 1481c of Him, all 3605 you descendants 2233 of Israel 3478.

 22:24 For He has not despised 959 nor 3808 abhorred 8262 the affliction 6039 of the afflicted 6041; Nor 3808 has He hidden 5641 His face 6440 from him; But when he cried 7768 to Him for help 7768, He heard 8085.

 22:25 ¶ From You [comes] my praise 8416 in the great 7227a assembly 6951; I shall pay 7999a my vows 5088 before 5048 those who fear 3372a Him.

 22:26 The afflicted 6035 will eat 398 and be satisfied 7646; Those who seek 1875 Him will praise 1984b the LORD 3068. Let your heart 3824 live 2421a forever 5703!

 22:27 All 3605 the ends 657 of the earth 776 will remember 2142 and turn 7725 to the LORD 3068, And all 3605 the families 4940 of the nations 1471 will worship 7812 before 6440 You.

 22:28 For the kingdom 4410 is the LORD’S 3068 And He rules 4910 over the nations 1471.

 22:29 All 3605 the prosperous 1879 of the earth 776 will eat 398 and worship 7812, All 3605 those who go 3381 down 3381 to the dust 6083 will bow 3766 before 6440 Him, Even he who cannot 3808 keep 2421a his soul 5315 alive 2421a.

 22:30 Posterity 2233 will serve 5647 Him; It will be told 5608 of the Lord 136 to the [coming] generation 1755.

 22:31 They will come 935 and will declare 5046 His righteousness 6666 To a people 5971a who will be born 3205, that He has performed 6213a [it].
