Psalms 80

1 The psalmist in his prayer complaineth of the miseries of the Church. 8 God's former favours are turned into judgments. 14 He prayeth for deliverance.

 80:1 [[For the choir director; [set to] El Shoshannim; Eduth. A Psalm of Asaph.]] Oh, give 238 ear 238, Shepherd 7462a of Israel 3478, You who lead 5090a Joseph 3130 like a flock 6629; You who are enthroned 3427 [above] the cherubim 3742, shine 3313 forth 3313!

 80:2 Before 6440 Ephraim 669 and Benjamin 1144 and Manasseh 4519, stir 5782 up Your power 1369 And come 1980 to save 3444 us!

 80:3 O God 430, restore 7725 us And cause Your face 6440 to shine 215 [upon us], and we will be saved 3467.

 80:4 ¶ O LORD 3068 God 430 [of] hosts 6635, How 4970 long 5704 4970 will You be angry 6225 with the prayer 8605 of Your people 5971a?

 80:5 You have fed 398 them with the bread 3899 of tears 1832, And You have made 8248 them to drink 8248 tears 1832 in large 7991a measure 7991a.

 80:6 You make 7760 us an object 4066 of contention 4066 to our neighbors 7934, And our enemies 340 laugh 3932 among themselves.

 80:7 O God 430 [of] hosts 6635, restore 7725 us And cause Your face 6440 to shine 215 [upon us], and we will be saved 3467.

 80:8 ¶ You removed 5265 a vine 1612 from Egypt 4714; You drove 1644 out the nations 1471 and planted 5193 it.

 80:9 You cleared 6437 [the ground] before 6440 it, And it took 8327 deep 8328 root 8328 and filled 4390 the land 776.

 80:10 The mountains 2022 were covered 3680 with its shadow 6738, And the cedars 730 of God 410 with its boughs 6057.

 80:11 It was sending 7971 out its branches 7105b to the sea 3220 And its shoots 3127 to the River 5104.

 80:12 Why 4100 have You broken 6555 down 6555 its hedges 1447, So that all 3605 who pass 5674a [that] way 1870 pick 717 its [fruit]?

 80:13 A boar 2386 from the forest 3293a eats 3765 it away 3765 And whatever 2123a moves 2123a in the field 7706a feeds 7462a on it.

 80:14 ¶ O God 430 [of] hosts 6635, turn 7725 again 7725 now 4994, we beseech 4994 You; Look 5027 down 5027 from heaven 8064 and see 7200, and take 6485 care 6485 of this 384 vine 1612,

 80:15 Even the shoot 3657 which 834 Your right 3225 hand 3225 has planted 5193, And on the son 1121 whom You have strengthened 553 for Yourself.

 80:16 It is burned 8313 with fire 784, it is cut 3683 down 3683; They perish 6 at the rebuke 1606 of Your countenance 6440.

 80:17 Let Your hand 3027 be upon the man 376 of Your right 3225 hand 3225, Upon the son 1121 of man 120 whom You made 553 strong 553 for Yourself.

 80:18 Then we shall not turn 5472 back 5472 from You; Revive 2421a us, and we will call 7121 upon Your name 8034.

 80:19 O LORD 3068 God 430 of hosts 6635, restore 7725 us; Cause Your face 6440 to shine 215 [upon us], and we will be saved 3467.
