Psalms 37

David persuadeth to patience and confidence in God, by the different estate of the godly and the wicked.

 37:1 [[[A Psalm] of David.]] Do not fret 2734 because of evildoers 7489a, Be not envious 7065 toward wrongdoers 5767b.

 37:2 For they will wither 4448c quickly 4120 like the grass 2682 And fade 5034b like the green 3418 herb 1877.

 37:3 Trust 982 in the LORD 3068 and do 6213a good 2896b; Dwell 7931 in the land 776 and cultivate 7462b faithfulness 530.

 37:4 Delight 6026 yourself in the LORD 3068; And He will give 5414 you the desires 4862 of your heart 3820.

 37:5 Commit 1556 your way 1870 to the LORD 3068, Trust 982 also in Him, and He will do 6213a it.

 37:6 He will bring 3318 forth 3318 your righteousness 6664 as the light 216 And your judgment 4941 as the noonday 6672a.

 37:7 ¶ Rest 1826a in the LORD 3068 and wait 2342a patiently 2342a for Him; Do not fret 2734 because of him who prospers 6743b in his way 1870, Because of the man 376 who carries 6213a out wicked 4209 schemes 4209.

 37:8 Cease 7503 from anger 639 and forsake 5800a wrath 2534; Do not fret 2734; [it leads] only 389 to evildoing 7489a.

 37:9 For evildoers 7489a will be cut 3772 off 3772, But those who wait 6960a for the LORD 3068, they will inherit 3423 the land 776.

 37:10 Yet 5750 a little 4592 while 4592 and the wicked 7563 man 7563 will be no 369 more 369; And you will look 995 carefully 995 for his place 4725 and he will not be [there].

 37:11 But the humble 6035 will inherit 3423 the land 776 And will delight 6026 themselves in abundant 7230 prosperity 7965.

 37:12 ¶ The wicked 7563 plots 2161 against the righteous 6662 And gnashes 2786 at him with his teeth 8127.

 37:13 The Lord 136 laughs 7832 at him, For He sees 7200 his day 3117 is coming 935.

 37:14 The wicked 7563 have drawn 6605a the sword 2719 and bent 1869 their bow 7198 To cast 5307 down 5307 the afflicted 6041 and the needy 34, To slay 2873 those who 3477 are upright 3477 in conduct 1870.

 37:15 Their sword 2719 will enter 935 their own heart 3820, And their bows 7198 will be broken 7665.

 37:16 ¶ Better 2896a is the little 4592 of the righteous 6662 Than 4480 the abundance 1995 of many 7227a wicked 7563.

 37:17 For the arms 2220 of the wicked 7563 will be broken 7665, But the LORD 3068 sustains 5564 the righteous 6662.

 37:18 The LORD 3068 knows 3045 the days 3117 of the blameless 8549, And their inheritance 5159 will be forever 5769.

 37:19 They will not be ashamed 954 in the time 6256 of evil 7463a, And in the days 3117 of famine 7459 they will have 7646 abundance 7646.

 37:20 But the wicked 7563 will perish 6; And the enemies 340 of the LORD 3068 will be like the glory 3368 of the pastures 3733b, They vanish 3615—like smoke 6227 they vanish 3615 away.

 37:21 The wicked 7563 borrows 3867b and does not pay 7999a back 7999a, But the righteous 6662 is gracious 2603a and gives 5414.

 37:22 For those blessed 1288 by Him will inherit 3423 the land 776, But those cursed 7043 by Him will be cut 3772 off 3772.

 37:23 ¶ The steps 4703 of a man 1397 are established 3559 by the LORD 3068, And He delights 2654a in his way 1870.

 37:24 When 3588 he falls 5307, he will not be hurled 2904 headlong 2904, Because 3588 the LORD 3068 is the One who holds 5564 his hand 3027.

 37:25 I have been 1961 young 5288 and now 1571 I am old 2204, Yet I have not seen 7200 the righteous 6662 forsaken 5800a Or his descendants 2233 begging 1245 bread 3899.

 37:26 All 3605 day 3117 long he is gracious 2603a and lends 3867b, And his descendants 2233 are a blessing 1293.

 37:27 ¶ Depart 5493 from evil 7451b and do 6213a good 2896b, So you will abide 7931 forever 5769.

 37:28 For the LORD 3068 loves 157 justice 4941 And does not forsake 5800a His godly 2623 ones 2623; They are preserved 8104 forever 5769, But the descendants 2233 of the wicked 7563 will be cut 3772 off 3772.

 37:29 The righteous 6662 will inherit 3423 the land 776 And dwell 7931 in it forever 5703.

 37:30 The mouth 6310 of the righteous 6662 utters 1897 wisdom 2451, And his tongue 3956 speaks 1696 justice 4941.

 37:31 The law 8451 of his God 430 is in his heart 3820; His steps 804a do not slip 4571.

 37:32 The wicked 7563 spies 6822 upon the righteous 6662 And seeks 1245 to kill 4191 him.

 37:33 The LORD 3068 will not leave 5800a him in his hand 3027 Or let him be condemned 7561 when he is judged 8199.

 37:34 Wait 6960a for the LORD 3068 and keep 8104 His way 1870, And He will exalt 7311 you to inherit 3423 the land 776; When the wicked 7563 are cut 3772 off 3772, you will see 7200 it.

 37:35 ¶ I have seen 7200 a wicked 7563, violent 6184 man 7563 Spreading 6168 himself like a luxuriant 7488 tree 249 in its native 249 soil.

 37:36 Then he passed 5674a away 5674a, and lo 2009, he was no 369 more 369; I sought 1245 for him, but he could not be found 4672.

 37:37 Mark 8104 the blameless 8535 man 8535, and behold 7200 the upright 3477; For the man 376 of peace 7965 will have a posterity 319.

 37:38 But transgressors 6586 will be altogether 3164a destroyed 8045; The posterity 319 of the wicked 7563 will be cut 3772 off 3772.

 37:39 But the salvation 8668 of the righteous 6662 is from the LORD 3068; He is their strength 4581 in time 6256 of trouble 6869a.

 37:40 The LORD 3068 helps 5826 them and delivers 6403 them; He delivers 6403 them from the wicked 7563 and saves 3467 them, Because 3588 they take 2620 refuge 2620 in Him.
