Psalms 69
1 David complaineth of his affliction. 13 He prayeth for deliverance. 22 He denoteth his enemies with destruction. 30 He praiseth God with thanksgiving.
69:1
[[For the choir director; according to Shoshannim. [A Psalm] of David.]] Save 3467 me, O God 430, For the waters 4325 have threatened 935 5704 my life 5315.
69:2
I have sunk 2883 in deep 4688 mire 3121, and there 369 is no 369 foothold 4613; I have come 935 into deep 4615 waters 4325, and a flood 7642b overflows 7857 me.
69:3
I am weary 3021 with my crying 7121; my throat 1627 is parched 2787; My eyes 5869 fail 3615 while I wait 3176 for my God 430.
69:4
Those who hate 8130 me without 2600 a cause 2600 are more 7231 than 4480 the hairs 8185 of my head 7218; Those who would destroy 6789 me are powerful 6105a, being wrongfully 8267 my enemies 340; What 834 I did not steal 1497, I then 227 have to restore 7725.
69:5
¶ O God 430, it is You who knows 3045 my folly 200, And my wrongs 819 are not hidden 3582 from You.
69:6
May those who wait 6960a for You not be ashamed 954 through me, O Lord 136 GOD 3068 of hosts 6635; May those who seek 1245 You not be dishonored 3637 through me, O God 430 of Israel 3478,
69:7
Because 3588 for Your sake 5921 I have borne 5375 reproach 2781; Dishonor 3639 has covered 3680 my face 6440.
69:8
I have 1961 become 1961 estranged 2114a from my brothers 251 And an alien 5237 to my mother’s 517 sons 1121.
69:9
For zeal 7068 for Your house 1004 has consumed 398 me, And the reproaches 2781 of those who reproach 2778a You have fallen 5307 on me.
69:10
When I wept 1058 in my soul 5315 with fasting 6685, It became 1961 my reproach 2781.
69:11
When I made 5414 sackcloth 8242 my clothing 3830, I became 1961 a byword 4912 to them.
69:12
Those who sit 3427 in the gate 8179 talk 7878 about me, And I [am] the song 5058 of the drunkards 7941 8354.
69:13
¶ But as for me, my prayer 8605 is to You, O LORD 3068, at an acceptable 7522 time 6256; O God 430, in the greatness 7230 of Your lovingkindness 2617a, Answer 6030a me with Your saving 3468 truth 571.
69:14
Deliver 5337 me from the mire 2916 and do not let me sink 2883; May I be delivered 5337 from my foes 8130 and from the deep 4615 waters 4325.
69:15
May the flood 7642b of water 4325 not overflow 7857 me Nor 408 the deep 4688 swallow 1104 me up, Nor 408 the pit 875 shut 332 its mouth 6310 on me.
69:16
¶ Answer 6030a me, O LORD 3068, for Your lovingkindness 2617a is good 2896a; According to the greatness 7230 of Your compassion 7356, turn 6437 to me,
69:17
And do not hide 5641 Your face 6440 from Your servant 5650, For I am in distress 6887a; answer 6030a me quickly 4118b.
69:18
Oh draw 7126 near 7126 to my soul 5315 [and] redeem 1350 it; Ransom 6299 me because 4616 of my enemies 340!
69:19
You know 3045 my reproach 2781 and my shame 1322 and my dishonor 3639; All 3605 my adversaries 6887c are before 5048 You.
69:20
¶ Reproach 2781 has broken 7665 my heart 3820 and I am so sick 5136. And I looked 6960a for sympathy 5110, but there 369 was none 369, And for comforters 5162, but I found 4672 none 3808.
69:21
They also gave 5414 me gall 7219 for my food 1267 And for my thirst 6772 they gave 8248 me vinegar 2558 to drink 8248.
69:22
¶ May their table 7979 before 6440 them become 1961 a snare 4170; And when they are in peace 7965, [may it become] a trap 4170.
69:23
May their eyes 5869 grow 2821 dim 2821 so 4480 that they cannot 4480 see 7200, And make their loins 4975 shake 4571 continually 8548.
69:24
Pour 8210 out Your indignation 2195 on them, And may Your burning 2740 anger 639 overtake 5381 them.
69:25
May their camp 2918 be desolate 8074; May none 408 dwell 3427 in their tents 168.
69:26
For they have persecuted 7291 him whom 834 You Yourself 859 have smitten 5221, And they tell 5608 of the pain 4341 of those whom You have wounded 2491a.
69:27
Add 5414 iniquity 5771 to their iniquity 5771, And may they not come 935 into Your righteousness 6666.
69:28
May they be blotted 4229a out of the book 5612 of life 2416a And may they not be recorded 3789 with the righteous 6662.
69:29
¶ But I am afflicted 6041 and in pain 3510; May Your salvation 3444, O God 430, set 7682 me [securely] on high 7682.
69:30
I will praise 1984b the name 8034 of God 430 with song 7892a And magnify 1431 Him with thanksgiving 8426.
69:31
And it will please 3190 the LORD 3068 better 3190 than 4480 an ox 7794 [Or] a young 6499 bull 6499 with horns 7161 and hoofs 6536.
69:32
The humble 6035 have seen 7200 [it and] are glad 8055; You who seek 1875 God 430, let your heart 3824 revive 2421a.
69:33
For the LORD 3068 hears 8085 the needy 34 And does not despise 959 His [who are] prisoners 615.
69:34
¶ Let heaven 8064 and earth 776 praise 1984b Him, The seas 3220 and everything 3605 that moves 7430 in them.
69:35
For God 430 will save 3467 Zion 6726 and build 1129 the cities 5892b of Judah 3063, That they may dwell 3427 there 8033 and possess 3423 it.
69:36
The descendants 2233 of His servants 5650 will inherit 5157 it, And those who love 157 His name 8034 will dwell 7931 in it.
