Psalms 9

1 David praiseth God for executing of judgment. 11 He inciteth others to praise him. 13 He prayeth that he may have cause to praise him.

 9:1 [[For the choir director; on Muth-labben. A Psalm of David.]] I will give 3034 thanks 3034 to the LORD 3068 with all 3605 my heart 3820; I will tell 5608 of all 3605 Your wonders 6381.

 9:2 I will be glad 8055 and exult 5970 in You; I will sing 2167 praise 2167 to Your name 8034, O Most 5945b High 5945b.

 9:3 ¶ When my enemies 340 turn 7725 back 268, They stumble 3782 and perish 6 before 4480 6440 You.

 9:4 For You have maintained 6213a my just 4941 cause 1779; You have sat 3427 on the throne 3678 judging 8199 righteously 6664.

 9:5 You have rebuked 1605 the nations 1471, You have destroyed 6 the wicked 7563; You have blotted 4229a out their name 8034 forever 5769 and ever 5703.

 9:6 The enemy 340 has come 8552 to an end 8552 in perpetual 5331 ruins 2723, And You have uprooted 5428 the cities 5892b; The very 1992a memory 2143 of them has perished 6.

 9:7 ¶ But the LORD 3068 abides 3427 forever 5769; He has established 3559 His throne 3678 for judgment 4941,

 9:8 And He will judge 8199 the world 8398 in righteousness 6664; He will execute 1777 judgment 1777 for the peoples 3816 with equity 4339.

 9:9 The LORD 3068 also will be a stronghold 4869 for the oppressed 1790, A stronghold 4869 in times 6256 of trouble 6869a;

 9:10 And those who know 3045 Your name 8034 will put 982 their trust 982 in You, For You, O LORD 3068, have not forsaken 5800a those who seek 1875 You.

 9:11 ¶ Sing 2167 praises 2167 to the LORD 3068, who dwells 3427 in Zion 6726; Declare 5046 among the peoples 5971a His deeds 5949.

 9:12 For He who requires 1875 blood 1818 remembers 2142 them; He does not forget 7911 the cry 6818 of the afflicted 6035.

 9:13 Be gracious 2603a to me, O LORD 3068; See 7200 my affliction 6040a from those who hate 8130 me, You who lift 7311 me up from the gates 8179 of death 4194,

 9:14 That I may tell 5608 of all 3605 Your praises 8416, That in the gates 8179 of the daughter 1323 of Zion 6726 I may rejoice 1523 in Your salvation 3444.

 9:15 The nations 1471 have sunk 2883 down 2883 in the pit 7845 which they have made 6213a; In the net 7568 which 2098 they hid 2934, their own foot 7272 has been caught 3920.

 9:16 The LORD 3068 has made 3045 Himself known 3045; He has executed 6213a judgment 4941. In the work 6467 of his own hands 3709 the wicked 7563 is snared 5367. Higgaion 1902 Selah 5542.

 9:17 ¶ The wicked 7563 will return 7725 to Sheol 7585, [Even] all 3605 the nations 1471 who 7913 forget 7913 God 430.

 9:18 For the needy 34 will not always 5331 be forgotten 7911, Nor the hope 8615b of the afflicted 6041 perish 6 forever 5703.

 9:19 Arise 6965, O LORD 3068, do not let man 582 prevail 5810; Let the nations 1471 be judged 8199 before 5921 6440 You.

 9:20 Put 7896 them in fear 4177b, O LORD 3068; Let the nations 1471 know 3045 that they are but men 582. Selah 5542.
