1 Moses, setting forth God's providence, 3 complaineth of human frailty, 7 divine chastisements, 10 and brevity of life. 12 He prayeth for the knowledge and sensible experience of God's good providence.
90:1
[[A Prayer of Moses, the man of God.]] Lord 136, You have been 1961 our dwelling 4583 place 4583 in all 1755 generations 1755.

Before 2962 the mountains 2022 were born 3205 Or You gave 2342a birth 2342a to the earth 776 and the world 8398, Even from everlasting 5769 to everlasting 5769, You are God 410.

¶ You turn 7725 man 582 back 7725 into dust 1793b And say 559, “Return 7725, O children 1121 of men 120.”

For a thousand 505 years 8141 in Your sight 5869 Are like yesterday 3117 8543 when 3588 it passes 5674a by, Or [as] a watch 821 in the night 3915.

You have swept 2229 them away 2229 like 2229 a flood 2229, they fall 1961 asleep 8142; In the morning 1242 they are like grass 2682 which sprouts 2498 anew 2498.

In the morning 1242 it flourishes 6692a and sprouts 2498 anew 2498; Toward evening 6153 it fades 4448c and withers 3001 away.
90:7
¶ For we have been 3615 consumed 3615 by Your anger 639 And by Your wrath 2534 we have been dismayed 926.
90:8
You have placed 7896 our iniquities 5771 before 5048 You, Our secret 5956 [sins] in the light 3974 of Your presence 6440.

For all 3605 our days 3117 have declined 6437 in Your fury 5678; We have finished 3615 our years 8141 like 3644 a sigh 1899.

As for the days 3117 of our life 8141, they contain seventy 7657 years 8141, Or if 518 due to strength 1369, eighty 8084 years 8141, Yet their pride 7296 is [but] labor 5999 and sorrow 205; For soon 2440 it is gone 1468 and we fly 5774a away 5774a.

Who 4310 understands 3045 the power 5797 of Your anger 639 And Your fury 5678, according to the fear 3374 that is due You?

So 3651 teach 3045 us to number 4487 our days 3117, That we may present 935 to You a heart 3824 of wisdom 2451.

¶ Do return 7725, O LORD 3068; how 4970 long 5704 4970 [will it be]? And be sorry 5162 for Your servants 5650.
