Psalms 143

1 David prayeth for favour in judgment. 3 He complaineth of his griefs. 5 He strengtheneth his faith by meditation and prayer. 7 He prayeth for grace, 9 for deliverance, 10 for sanctification, 12 for destruction of his enemies.

 143:1 [[A Psalm of David.]] Hear 8085 my prayer 8605, O LORD 3068, Give 238 ear 238 to my supplications 8469! Answer 6030a me in Your faithfulness 530, in Your righteousness 6666!

 143:2 And do not enter 935 into judgment 4941 with Your servant 5650, For in Your sight 6440 no 3808 man 2416a living 2416a is righteous 6663.

 143:3 For the enemy 340 has persecuted 7291 my soul 5315; He has crushed 1792 my life 2421b to the ground 776; He has made me dwell 3427 in dark 4285 places 4285, like those who have long 5769 been dead 4191.

 143:4 Therefore my spirit 7307 is overwhelmed 5848c within 5921 me; My heart 3820 is appalled 8074 within 8432 me.

 143:5 ¶ I remember 2142 the days 3117 of old 6924a; I meditate 1897 on all 3605 Your doings 6467; I muse 7878 on the work 4639 of Your hands 3027.

 143:6 I stretch 6566 out my hands 3027 to You; My soul 5315 [longs] for You, as a parched 5889 land 776. Selah 5542.

 143:7 ¶ Answer 6030a me quickly 4118b, O LORD 3068, my spirit 7307 fails 3615; Do not hide 5641 Your face 6440 from me, Or I will become 4911a like 4911a those who go 3381 down 3381 to the pit 953a.

 143:8 Let me hear 8085 Your lovingkindness 2617a in the morning 1242; For I trust 982 in You; Teach 3045 me the way 1870 in which 2098 I should walk 1980; For to You I lift 5375 up my soul 5315.

 143:9 Deliver 5337 me, O LORD 3068, from my enemies 340; I take 3680 refuge 3680 in You.

 143:10 ¶ Teach 3925 me to do 6213a Your will, For You are my God 430; Let Your good 2896a Spirit 7307 lead 5148 me on level 4334 ground 776.

 143:12 And in Your lovingkindness 2617a, cut 6789 off 6789 my enemies 340 And destroy 6 all 3605 those who afflict 6887c my soul 5315, For I am Your servant 5650.
