 39:1 ¶ And Yôsëf יוֹסֵף 3130 was brought down 3381 z8717 to Mixrayim מִצרַיִם; 4714 and Pôţîfar פּוֹטִיפַר, 6318 an officer 5631 of Par`ò פַּרעֹה, 6547 captain 8269 of the guard, 2876 a Mixrî מִצרִי, 376 4713 bought 7069 z8799 him of the hands 3027 x4480 of the Yišmæ`ë´lîm יִשׁמְעֵאלִים, 3459 which x834 had brought him down 3381 z8689 thither. x8033

וַיְהִי יְהוָה אֶת־יוֹסֵף וַיְהִי אִישׁ מַצְלִיחַ וַיְהִי בְּבֵית אֲדֹנָיו הַמִּצְרִי

וַיַּרְא אֲדֹנָיו כִּי יְהוָה אִתּוֹ וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־הוּא עֹשֶׂה יְהוָה מַצְלִיחַ בְּיָדוֹ

וַיִּמְצָא יוֹסֵף חֵן בְּעֵינָיו וַיְשָׁרֶת אֹתוֹ וַיַּפְקִדֵהוּ עַל־בֵּיתוֹ וְכָל־יֶשׁ־לוֹ נָתַן בְּיָדוֹ

 39:4 And Yôsëf יוֹסֵף 3130 found 4672 z8799 grace 2580 in his sight, 5869 and he served 8334 z8762 him: and he made him overseer 6485 z8686 over x5921 his house, 1004 and all x3605 [that] he had 3426 he put 5414 z8804 into his hand. 3027

וַיְהִי מֵאָז הִפְקִיד אֹתוֹ בְּבֵיתוֹ וְעַל כָּל־אֲשֶׁר יֶשׁ־לוֹ וַיְבָרֶךְ יְהוָה אֶת־בֵּית הַמִּצְרִי בִּגְלַל יוֹסֵף וַיְהִי בִּרְכַּת יְהוָה בְּכָל־אֲשֶׁר יֶשׁ־לוֹ בַּבַּיִת וּבַשָּׂדֶה

 39:5 And it came to pass x1961 from the time 227 x4480 [that] he had made him overseer 6485 z8689 x853 in his house, 1004 and over x5921 all x3605 that x834 he had, 3426 that Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 blessed 1288 z8762 x853 the Mixrî's מִצרִי 4713 house 1004 for Yôsëf's יוֹסֵף y3130 sake; 1558 x3130 and the blessing 1293 of Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 was x1961 upon all x3605 that x834 he had 3426 in the house, 1004 and in the field. 7704

וַיַּעֲזֹב כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ בְּיַד־יוֹסֵף וְלֹא־יָדַע אִתּוֹ מְאוּמָה כִּי אִם־הַלֶּחֶם אֲשֶׁר־הוּא אוֹכֵל וַיְהִי יוֹסֵף יְפֵה־תֹאַר וִיפֵה מַרְאֶה

 39:6 waYaázov Käl-ásher-lô B'yad-yôšëf w'lo-yäda iTô m'ûmäh Kiy im-haLechem ásher-hû ôkhël way'hiy yôšëf y'fëh-toar wiyfëh mar'eh

 39:6 And he left 5800 z8799 all x3605 that x834 he had in Yôsëf's יוֹסֵף 3130 hand; 3027 and he knew 3045 z8804 not x3808 ought 3972 he had, x854 save 518 x3588 the bread 3899 which x834 he x1931 did eat. 398 z8802 And Yôsëf יוֹסֵף 3130 was x1961 [a] goodly 8389 x3303 [person], and well 3303 favoured. 4758

וַיְהִי אַחַר הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וַתִּשָּׂא אֵשֶׁת־אֲדֹנָיו אֶת־עֵינֶיהָ אֶל־יוֹסֵף וַתֹּאמֶר שִׁכְבָה עִמִּי

 39:7 ¶ And it came to pass x1961 after 310 these x428 things, 1697 that his ´áđôn's אֲדוֹן 113 wife 802 cast 5375 z8799 x853 her eyes 5869 upon x413 Yôsëf יוֹסֵף; 3130 and she said, 559 z8799 Lie 7901 z8798 with x5973 me.

וַיְמָאֵן וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־אֵשֶׁת אֲדֹנָיו הֵן אֲדֹנִי לֹא־יָדַע אִתִּי מַה־בַּבָּיִת וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יֶשׁ־לוֹ נָתַן בְּיָדִי

 39:8 way'mäën waYomer el-ëshet ádonäyw hën ádoniy lo-yäda iTiy mah-BaBäyit w'khol ásher-yesh-lô nätan B'yädiy

 39:8 But he refused, 3985 z8762 and said 559 z8799 unto x413 his ´áđôn's אֲדוֹן 113 wife, 802 Behold, x2005 my ´áđôn אֲדוֹן 113 wotteth 3045 z8804 not x3808 what x4100 [is] with x854 me in the house, 1004 and he hath committed 5414 z8804 all x3605 that x834 he hath 3426 to my hand; 3027

אֵינֶנּוּ גָדוֹל בַּבַּיִת הַזֶּה מִמֶּנִּי וְלֹא־חָשַׂךְ מִמֶּנִּי מְאוּמָה כִּי אִם־אוֹתָךְ בַּאֲשֶׁר אַתְּ־אִשְׁתּוֹ וְאֵיךְ אֶעֱשֶׂה הָרָעָה הַגְּדֹלָה הַזֹּאת וְחָטָאתִי לֵאלֹהִים

 39:9 ëyneNû gädôl BaBayit haZeh miMeNiy w'lo-chäsakh' miMeNiy m'ûmäh Kiy im-ôtäkh' Baásher aT'-ish'Tô w'ëykh' eéseh härääh haG'doläh haZot w'chäţätiy lëlohiym

 39:9 [There is] none x369 greater 1419 in this x2088 house 1004 than x4480 I; neither 3808 hath he kept back 2820 z8804 any thing 3972 from x4480 me but x3588 x518 thee, because 834 thou 859 [art] his wife: 802 how x349 then can I do 6213 z8799 this x2063 great 1419 wickedness, 7451 and sin 2398 z8804 against ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים? 430

וַיְהִי כְּדַבְּרָהּ אֶל־יוֹסֵף יוֹם יוֹם וְלֹא־שָׁמַע אֵלֶיהָ לִשְׁכַּב אֶצְלָהּ לִהְיוֹת עִמָּהּ

 39:10 way'hiy K'daB'räH el-yôšëf yôm yôm w'lo-shäma ëleyhä lish'Kav etz'läH lih'yôt iMäH

 39:10 And it came to pass, x1961 as she spake 1696 z8763 to x413 Yôsëf יוֹסֵף 3130 day 3117 by day, 3117 that he hearkened 8085 z8804 not x3808 unto x413 her, to lie 7901 z8800 by x681 her, y681 [or] to be x1961 with x5973 her.

וַיְהִי כְּהַיּוֹם הַזֶּה וַיָּבֹא הַבַּיְתָה לַעֲשׂוֹת מְלַאכְתּוֹ וְאֵין אִישׁ מֵאַנְשֵׁי הַבַּיִת שָׁם בַּבָּיִת

 39:11 And it came to pass x1961 about this x2088 time, 3117 that [Yôsëf יוֹסֵף] went 935 z8799 into the house 1004 to do 6213 z8800 his business; 4399 and [there was] none x369 x376 of the men 376 y582 x4480 of the house 1004 there x8033 within. x1004

וַתִּתְפְּשֵׂהוּ בְּבִגְדוֹ לֵאמֹר שִׁכְבָה עִמִּי וַיַּעֲזֹב בִּגְדוֹ בְּיָדָהּ וַיָּנָס וַיֵּצֵא הַחוּצָה

 39:12 waTit'P'sëhû B'vig'dô lëmor shikh'väh iMiy waYaázov Big'dô B'yädäH waYänäš waYëtzë hachûtzäh

וַיְהִי כִּרְאוֹתָהּ כִּי־עָזַב בִּגְדוֹ בְּיָדָהּ וַיָּנָס הַחוּצָה

 39:13 And it came to pass, x1961 when she saw 7200 z8800 that x3588 he had left 5800 z8804 his garment 899 in her hand, 3027 and was fled 5127 z8799 forth, 2351

וַתִּקְרָא לְאַנְשֵׁי בֵיתָהּ וַתֹּאמֶר לָהֶם לֵאמֹר רְאוּ הֵבִיא לָנוּ אִישׁ עִבְרִי לְצַחֶק בָּנוּ בָּא אֵלַי לִשְׁכַּב עִמִּי וָאֶקְרָא בְּקוֹל גָּדוֹל

 39:14 waTiq'rä l'an'shëy vëytäH waTomer lähem lëmor r'û hëviy länû iysh iv'riy l'tzacheq Bänû Bä ëlay lish'Kav iMiy wäeq'rä B'qôl Gädôl

 39:14 That she called 7121 z8799 unto the men y582 x376 of her house, 1004 and spake 559 z8799 unto them, saying, 559 z8800 See, 7200 z8798 he hath brought in 935 z8689 an `Ivrî עִברִי 376 5680 unto us to mock 6711 z8763 us; he came in 935 z8804 unto x413 me to lie 7901 z8800 with x5973 me, and I cried 7121 z8799 with a loud 1419 voice: 6963

וַיְהִי כְשָׁמְעוֹ כִּי־הֲרִימֹתִי קוֹלִי וָאֶקְרָא וַיַּעֲזֹב בִּגְדוֹ אֶצְלִי וַיָּנָס וַיֵּצֵא הַחוּצָה

 39:15 way'hiy kh'shäm'ô Kiy-háriymotiy qôliy wäeq'rä waYaázov Big'dô etz'liy waYänäš waYëtzë hachûtzäh

 39:15 And it came to pass, x1961 when he heard 8085 z8800 that x3588 I lifted up 7311 z8689 my voice 6963 and cried, 7121 z8799 that he left 5800 z8799 his garment 899 with x681 me, y681 and fled, 5127 z8799 and got x3318 him y3318 z8799 out. 2351

וַתַּנַּח בִּגְדוֹ אֶצְלָהּ עַד־בּוֹא אֲדֹנָיו אֶל־בֵּיתוֹ

 39:16 waTaNach Big'dô etz'läH ad-Bô ádonäyw el-Bëytô

 39:16 And she laid up y3240 z8686 x5117 his garment 899 by x681 her, y681 until x5704 his ´áđôn אֲדוֹן 113 came 935 z8800 x413 home. 1004

וַתְּדַבֵּר אֵלָיו כַּדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה לֵאמֹר בָּא־אֵלַי הָעֶבֶד הָעִבְרִי אֲשֶׁר־הֵבֵאתָ לָּנוּ לְצַחֶק בִּי

 39:17 waT'daBër ëläyw KaD'väriym häëLeh lëmor Bä-ëlay häeved häiv'riy ásher-hëvëtä Länû l'tzacheq Biy

 39:17 And she spake 1696 z8762 unto x413 him according to these x428 words, 1697 saying, 559 z8800 The `Ivrî עִברִי 5680 servant, 5650 which x834 thou hast brought 935 z8689 unto us, came in 935 z8804 unto x413 me to mock 6711 z8763 me:

וַיְהִי כַּהֲרִימִי קוֹלִי וָאֶקְרָא וַיַּעֲזֹב בִּגְדוֹ אֶצְלִי וַיָּנָס הַחוּצָה

 39:18 way'hiy Kaháriymiy qôliy wäeq'rä waYaázov Big'dô etz'liy waYänäš hachûtzäh

 39:18 And it came to pass, x1961 as I lifted up 7311 z8687 my voice 6963 and cried, 7121 z8799 that he left 5800 z8799 his garment 899 with x681 me, y681 and fled 5127 z8799 out. 2351

וַיְהִי כִשְׁמֹעַ אֲדֹנָיו אֶת־דִּבְרֵי אִשְׁתּוֹ אֲשֶׁר דִּבְּרָה אֵלָיו לֵאמֹר כַּדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה עָשָׂהּ לִי עַבְדֶּךָ וַיִּחַר אַפּוֹ

 39:19 And it came to pass, x1961 when his ´áđôn אֲדוֹן 113 heard 8085 z8800 x853 the words 1697 of his wife, 802 which x834 she spake 1696 z8765 unto x413 him, saying, 559 z8800 After this x428 manner 1697 did 6213 z8804 thy servant 5650 to me; that his wrath 639 was kindled. 2734 z8799

וַיִּקַּח אֲדֹנֵי יוֹסֵף אֹתוֹ וַיִּתְּנֵהוּ אֶל־בֵּית הַסֹּהַר מְקוֹם אֲשֶׁר־*אֲסוּרֵי [אֲסִירֵי] הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲסוּרִים וַיְהִי־שָׁם בְּבֵית הַסֹּהַר

 39:20 waYiQach ádonëy yôšëf otô waYiT'nëhû el-Bëyt haŠohar m'qôm ásher-*ášûrëy [ášiyrëy] haMelekh' ášûriym way'hiy-shäm B'vëyt haŠohar

 39:20 And Yôsëf's יוֹסֵף 3130 ´áđôn אֲדוֹן 113 took 3947 z8799 him, and put x5414 him y5414 z8799 into x413 the prison, 1004 5470 a place 4725 where x834 the king's 4428 prisoners 615 [were] bound: 631 z8803 and he was x1961 there x8033 in the prison. 1004 5470

וַיְהִי יְהוָה אֶת־יוֹסֵף וַיֵּט אֵלָיו חָסֶד וַיִּתֵּן חִנּוֹ בְּעֵינֵי שַׂר בֵּית־הַסֹּהַר

 39:21 way'hiy y'hwäh et-yôšëf waYëţ ëläyw chäšed waYiTën chiNô B'ëynëy sar Bëyt-haŠohar

 39:21 ¶ But Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 was x1961 with x854 Yôsëf יוֹסֵף, 3130 and shewed 5186 z8799 x413 him mercy, 2617 and gave 5414 z8799 him favour 2580 in the sight 5869 of the keeper 8269 of the prison. 1004 5470

וַיִּתֵּן שַׂר בֵּית־הַסֹּהַר בְּיַד־יוֹסֵף אֵת כָּל־הָאֲסִירִם אֲשֶׁר בְּבֵית הַסֹּהַר וְאֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר עֹשִׂים שָׁם הוּא הָיָה עֹשֶׂה

 39:22 waYiTën sar Bëyt-haŠohar B'yad-yôšëf ët Käl-häášiyrim ásher B'vëyt haŠohar w'ët Käl-ásher osiym shäm hû häyäh oseh

 39:22 And the keeper 8269 of the prison 1004 5470 committed 5414 z8799 to Yôsëf's יוֹסֵף 3130 hand 3027 x853 all x3605 the prisoners 615 that x834 [were] in the prison; 1004 5470 and whatsoever x3605 x834 they did 6213 z8802 there, x8033 he x1931 was x1961 the doer 6213 z8802 [of it].

אֵין שַׂר בֵּית־הַסֹּהַר רֹאֶה אֶת־כָּל־מְאוּמָה בְּיָדוֹ בַּאֲשֶׁר יְהוָה אִתּוֹ וַאֲשֶׁר־הוּא עֹשֶׂה יְהוָה מַצְלִיחַ ס

 39:23 The keeper 8269 of the prison 1004 5470 looked 7200 z8802 not x369 to x853 any thing 3972 x3605 [that was] under his hand; 3027 because x834 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 was with x854 him, and [that] which x834 he x1931 did, 6213 z8802 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 made [it] to prosper. 6743 z8688
