 23:1 waYih'yû chaYëy säräh mëäh shänäh w'es'riym shänäh w'sheva shäniym sh'nëy chaYëy säräh

 23:1 ¶ And Ŝärà שָׂרָה 8283 was x1961 an hundred 3967 y8141 and seven 7651 y8141 and twenty 6242 years 8141 old: 2416 [these were] the years 8141 of the life 2416 of Ŝärà שָׂרָה. 8283

וַתָּמָת שָׂרָה בְּקִרְיַת אַרְבַּע הִוא חֶבְרוֹן בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן וַיָּבֹא אַבְרָהָם לִסְפֹּד לְשָׂרָה וְלִבְכֹּתָהּ

 23:2 And Ŝärà שָׂרָה 8283 died 4191 z8799 in Kiryaŧ ´Arba` קִריַת־אַרבַּע; 7153 the same x1931 [is] Çevrôn חֶברוֹן 2275 in the land 776 of Cænä`an כְּנָעַן: 3667 and ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם 85 came 935 z8799 to mourn 5594 z8800 for Ŝärà שָׂרָה, 8283 and to weep 1058 z8800 for her.

וַיָּקָם אַבְרָהָם מֵעַל פְּנֵי מֵתוֹ וַיְדַבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי־חֵת לֵאמֹר

גֵּר־וְתוֹשָׁב אָנֹכִי עִמָּכֶם תְּנוּ לִי אֲחֻזַּת־קֶבֶר עִמָּכֶם וְאֶקְבְּרָה מֵתִי מִלְּפָנָי

 23:4 Gër-w'tôshäv änokhiy iMäkhem T'nû liy áchuZat-qever iMäkhem w'eq'B'räh mëtiy miL'fänäy

וַיַּעֲנוּ בְנֵי־חֵת אֶת־אַבְרָהָם לֵאמֹר לוֹ

 23:5 And the children 1121 of Çëŧ חֵת 2845 answered 6030 z8799 x853 ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם, 85 saying 559 z8800 unto him,

שְׁמָעֵנוּ אֲדֹנִי נְשִׂיא אֱלֹהִים אַתָּה בְּתוֹכֵנוּ בְּמִבְחַר קְבָרֵינוּ קְבֹר אֶת־מֵתֶךָ אִישׁ מִמֶּנּוּ אֶת־קִבְרוֹ לֹא־יִכְלֶה מִמְּךָ מִקְּבֹר מֵתֶךָ

וַיָּקָם אַבְרָהָם וַיִּשְׁתַּחוּ לְעַם־הָאָרֶץ לִבְנֵי־חֵת

 23:7 And ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם 85 stood up, 6965 z8799 and bowed y7812 z8691 himself x7812 to the people 5971 of the land, 776 [even] to the children 1121 of Çëŧ חֵת. 2845

וַיְדַבֵּר אִתָּם לֵאמֹר אִם־יֵשׁ אֶת־נַפְשְׁכֶם לִקְבֹּר אֶת־מֵתִי מִלְּפָנַי שְׁמָעוּנִי וּפִגְעוּ־לִי בְּעֶפְרוֹן בֶּן־צֹחַר

וְיִתֶּן־לִי אֶת־מְעָרַת הַמַּכְפֵּלָה אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ אֲשֶׁר בִּקְצֵה שָׂדֵהוּ בְּכֶסֶף מָלֵא יִתְּנֶנָּה לִי בְּתוֹכְכֶם לַאֲחֻזַּת־קָבֶר

וְעֶפְרוֹן יֹשֵׁב בְּתוֹךְ בְּנֵי־חֵת וַיַּעַן עֶפְרוֹן הַחִתִּי אֶת־אַבְרָהָם בְּאָזְנֵי בְנֵי־חֵת לְכֹל בָּאֵי שַׁעַר־עִירוֹ לֵאמֹר

 23:11 Nay, 3808 my ´áđôn אֲדוֹן, 113 hear x8085 me: y8085 z8798 the field 7704 give x5414 I y5414 z8804 thee, and the cave 4631 that x834 [is] therein, I give x5414 it y5414 z8804 thee; in the presence 5869 of the sons 1121 of my people 5971 give 5414 z8804 I it thee: bury 6912 z8798 thy dead. 4191 z8801

וַיִּשְׁתַּחוּ אַבְרָהָם לִפְנֵי עַם הָאָרֶץ

 23:12 waYish'Tachû av'rähäm lif'nëy am hääretz

 23:12 And ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם 85 bowed down y7812 z8691 himself x7812 before 6440 the people 5971 of the land. 776

וַיְדַבֵּר אֶל־עֶפְרוֹן בְּאָזְנֵי עַם־הָאָרֶץ לֵאמֹר אַךְ אִם־אַתָּה לוּ שְׁמָעֵנִי נָתַתִּי כֶּסֶף הַשָּׂדֶה קַח מִמֶּנִּי וְאֶקְבְּרָה אֶת־מֵתִי שָׁמָּה

 23:13 And he spake 1696 z8762 unto x413 `Efrôn עֶפרוֹן 6085 in the audience 241 of the people 5971 of the land, 776 saying, 559 z8800 But x389 if x518 thou x859 [wilt give it], I pray thee, 3863 hear 8085 z8798 me: I will give 5414 z8804 thee money 3701 for the field; 7704 take 3947 z8798 [it] of x4480 me, and I will bury 6912 z8799 x853 my dead 4191 z8801 there. x8033

וַיַּעַן עֶפְרוֹן אֶת־אַבְרָהָם לֵאמֹר לוֹ

 23:14 And `Efrôn עֶפרוֹן 6085 answered 6030 z8799 x853 ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם, 85 saying 559 z8800 unto him,

אֲדֹנִי שְׁמָעֵנִי אֶרֶץ אַרְבַּע מֵאֹת שֶׁקֶל־כֶּסֶף בֵּינִי וּבֵינְךָ מַה־הִוא וְאֶת־מֵתְךָ קְבֹר

 23:15 ádoniy sh'mäëniy eretz ar'Ba mëot sheqel-Kešef Bëyniy ûvëyn'khä mah-hiw w'et-mët'khä q'vor

 23:15 My ´áđôn אֲדוֹן, 113 hearken 8085 z8798 unto me: the land 776 [is worth] four 702 hundred 3967 shekels 8255 of silver; 3701 what x4100 [is] that x1931 betwixt 996 me and thee? bury 6912 z8798 therefore thy dead. 4191 z8801

וַיִּשְׁמַע אַבְרָהָם אֶל־עֶפְרוֹן וַיִּשְׁקֹל אַבְרָהָם לְעֶפְרֹן אֶת־הַכֶּסֶף אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר בְּאָזְנֵי בְנֵי־חֵת אַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת שֶׁקֶל כֶּסֶף עֹבֵר לַסֹּחֵר

 23:16 And ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם 85 hearkened 8085 z8799 unto x413 `Efrôn עֶפרוֹן; 6085 and ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם 85 weighed 8254 z8799 to `Efrôn עֶפרוֹן 6085 x853 the silver, 3701 which x834 he had named 1696 z8765 in the audience 241 of the sons 1121 of Çëŧ חֵת, 2845 four 702 hundred 3967 shekels 8255 of silver, 3701 current 5674 z8802 [money] with the merchant. 5503 z8802

וַיָּקָם שְׂדֵה עֶפְרוֹן אֲשֶׁר בַּמַּכְפֵּלָה אֲשֶׁר לִפְנֵי מַמְרֵא הַשָּׂדֶה וְהַמְּעָרָה אֲשֶׁר־בּוֹ וְכָל־הָעֵץ אֲשֶׁר בַּשָּׂדֶה אֲשֶׁר בְּכָל־גְּבֻלוֹ סָבִיב

 23:17 ¶ And the field 7704 of `Efrôn עֶפרוֹן, 6085 which x834 [was] in Maȼpëlà מַכפֵּלָה, 4375 which x834 [was] before 6440 Mamrë´ מַמרֵא, 4471 the field, 7704 and the cave 4631 which x834 [was] therein, and all x3605 the trees 6086 that x834 [were] in the field, 7704 that x834 [were] in all x3605 the borders 1366 round about, 5439 were made sure 6965 z8799

לְאַבְרָהָם לְמִקְנָה לְעֵינֵי בְנֵי־חֵת בְּכֹל בָּאֵי שַׁעַר־עִירוֹ

 23:18 l'av'rähäm l'miq'näh l'ëynëy v'nëy-chët B'khol Bäëy shaar-iyrô

 23:18 Unto ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם 85 for a possession 4736 in the presence 5869 of the children 1121 of Çëŧ חֵת, 2845 before all x3605 that went in 935 z8802 at the gate 8179 of his city. 5892

וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן קָבַר אַבְרָהָם אֶת־שָׂרָה אִשְׁתּוֹ אֶל־מְעָרַת שְׂדֵה הַמַּכְפֵּלָה עַל־פְּנֵי מַמְרֵא הִוא חֶבְרוֹן בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן
