וְיַעֲקֹב שָׁמַע כִּי טִמֵּא אֶת־דִּינָה בִתּוֹ וּבָנָיו הָיוּ אֶת־מִקְנֵהוּ בַּשָּׂדֶה וְהֶחֱרִשׁ יַעֲקֹב עַד־בֹּאָם

וַיֵּצֵא חֲמוֹר אֲבִי־שְׁכֶם אֶל־יַעֲקֹב לְדַבֵּר אִתּוֹ

 34:6 ¶ And Çámôr חֲמוֹר 2544 the father 1 of Šæȼem שְׁכֶם 7927 went out 3318 z8799 unto x413 Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב 3290 to commune 1696 z8763 with 854 him.

וּבְנֵי יַעֲקֹב בָּאוּ מִן־הַשָּׂדֶה כְּשָׁמְעָם וַיִּתְעַצְּבוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים וַיִּחַר לָהֶם מְאֹד כִּי־נְבָלָה עָשָׂה בְיִשְׂרָאֵל לִשְׁכַּב אֶת־בַּת־יַעֲקֹב וְכֵן לֹא יֵעָשֶׂה

 34:8 And Çámôr חֲמוֹר 2544 communed 1696 z8762 with x854 them, saying, 559 z8800 The soul 5315 of my son 1121 Šæȼem שְׁכֶם y7927 x7928 longeth 2836 z8804 for your daughter: 1323 I pray you x4994 give 5414 z8798 her him to wife. 802

וְהִתְחַתְּנוּ אֹתָנוּ בְּנֹתֵיכֶם תִּתְּנוּ־לָנוּ וְאֶת־בְּנֹתֵינוּ תִּקְחוּ לָכֶם

 34:9 w'hit'chaT'nû otänû B'notëykhem TiT'nû-länû w'et-B'notëynû Tiq'chû läkhem

 34:9 And make ye marriages 2859 z8690 with x854 us, [and] give 5414 z8799 your daughters 1323 unto us, and take 3947 z8799 our daughters 1323 unto you.

וְאִתָּנוּ תֵּשֵׁבוּ וְהָאָרֶץ תִּהְיֶה לִפְנֵיכֶם שְׁבוּ וּסְחָרוּהָ וְהֵאָחֲזוּ בָּהּ

 34:10 w'iTänû Tëshëvû w'hääretz Tih'yeh lif'nëykhem sh'vû ûš'chärûhä w'hëächázû BäH

 34:10 And ye shall dwell 3427 z8799 with x854 us: and the land 776 shall be 1961 z8799 before x6440 you; y6440 dwell 3427 z8798 and trade 5503 z8804 ye therein, and get you possessions 270 z8734 therein.

וַיֹּאמֶר שְׁכֶם אֶל־אָבִיה וְאֶל־אַחֶיהָ אֶמְצָא־חֵן בְּעֵינֵיכֶם וַאֲשֶׁר תֹּאמְרוּ אֵלַי אֶתֵּן

 34:11 waYomer sh'khem el-äviyh w'el-acheyhä em'tzä-chën B'ëynëykhem waásher Tom'rû ëlay eTën

 34:11 And Šæȼem שְׁכֶם y7927 x7928 said 559 z8799 unto x413 her father 1 and unto x413 her brethren, 251 Let me find 4672 z8799 grace 2580 in your eyes, 5869 and what x834 ye shall say 559 z8799 unto x413 me I will give. 5414 z8799

הַרְבּוּ עָלַי מְאֹד מֹהַר וּמַתָּן וְאֶתְּנָה כַּאֲשֶׁר תֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָי וּתְנוּ־לִי אֶת־הַנַּעֲרָ לְאִשָּׁה

 34:12 har'Bû älay m'od mohar ûmaTän w'eT'näh Kaásher Tom'rû ëläy ût'nû-liy et-haNaárä l'iSHäh

 34:12 Ask 7235 z8685 x5921 me never so much 3966 dowry 4119 and gift, 4976 and I will give 5414 z8799 according as x834 ye shall say 559 z8799 unto x413 me: but give 5414 z8798 me x853 the damsel 5291 to wife. 802

וַיַּעֲנוּ בְנֵי־יַעֲקֹב אֶת־שְׁכֶם וְאֶת־חֲמוֹר אָבִיו בְּמִרְמָה וַיְדַבֵּרוּ אֲשֶׁר טִמֵּא אֵת דִּינָה אֲחֹתָם

 34:13 waYaánû v'nëy-yaáqov et-sh'khem w'et-chámôr äviyw B'mir'mäh way'daBërû ásher ţiMë ët Diynäh áchotäm

 34:13 And the sons 1121 of Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב 3290 answered 6030 z8799 x853 Šæȼem שְׁכֶם y7927 x7928 and Çámôr חֲמוֹר 2544 his father 1 deceitfully, 4820 and said, 1696 z8762 because x834 he had defiled 2930 z8765 x853 Dînà דִּינָה 1783 their sister: 269

וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֲלֵיהֶם לֹא נוּכַל לַעֲשׂוֹת הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה לָתֵת אֶת־אֲחֹתֵנוּ לְאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ עָרְלָה כִּי־חֶרְפָּה הִוא לָנוּ

 34:14 waYom'rû álëyhem lo nûkhal laásôt haDävär haZeh lätët et-áchotënû l'iysh ásher-lô är'läh Kiy-cher'Päh hiw länû

 34:14 And they said 559 z8799 unto x413 them, We cannot 3808 3201 z8799 do 6213 z8800 this x2088 thing, 1697 to give 5414 z8800 x853 our sister 269 to one 376 that x834 is uncircumcised; 6190 for x3588 that x1931 [were] a reproach 2781 unto us:

אַךְ־בְּזֹאת נֵאוֹת לָכֶם אִם תִּהְיוּ כָמֹנוּ לְהִמֹּל לָכֶם כָּל־זָכָר

 34:15 akh'-B'zot nëôt läkhem im Tih'yû khämonû l'hiMol läkhem Käl-zäkhär

 34:15 But x389 in this 2063 will we consent 225 z8735 unto you: If x518 ye will be x1961 as we [be], that every x3605 male 2145 of you be circumcised; 4135 z8736

וְנָתַנּוּ אֶת־בְּנֹתֵינוּ לָכֶם וְאֶת־בְּנֹתֵיכֶם נִקַּח־לָנוּ וְיָשַׁבְנוּ אִתְּכֶם וְהָיִינוּ לְעַם אֶחָד

 34:16 w'nätaNû et-B'notëynû läkhem w'et-B'notëykhem niQach-länû w'yäshav'nû iT'khem w'häyiynû l'am echäd

 34:16 Then will we give 5414 z8804 x853 our daughters 1323 unto you, and we will take 3947 z8799 your daughters 1323 to us, and we will dwell 3427 z8804 with x854 you, and we will become x1961 one 259 people. 5971

וְאִם־לֹא תִשְׁמְעוּ אֵלֵינוּ לְהִמּוֹל וְלָקַחְנוּ אֶת־בִּתֵּנוּ וְהָלָכְנוּ

 34:17 w'im-lo tish'm'û ëlëynû l'hiMôl w'läqach'nû et-BiTënû w'häläkh'nû

 34:17 But if x518 ye will not x3808 hearken 8085 z8799 unto x413 us, to be circumcised; 4135 z8736 then will we take 3947 z8804 x853 our daughter, 1323 and we will be gone. 1980 z8804

וַיִּיטְבוּ דִבְרֵיהֶם בְּעֵינֵי חֲמוֹר וּבְעֵינֵי שְׁכֶם בֶּן־חֲמוֹר

 34:18 waYiyţ'vû div'rëyhem B'ëynëy chámôr ûv'ëynëy sh'khem Ben-chámôr

 34:18 And their words 1697 pleased 3190 5869 z8799 Çámôr חֲמוֹר, 2544 and Šæȼem שְׁכֶם y7927 x7928 Çámôr's חֲמוֹר 2544 son. 1121

וְלֹא־אֵחַר הַנַּעַר לַעֲשׂוֹת הַדָּבָר כִּי חָפֵץ בְּבַת־יַעֲקֹב וְהוּא נִכְבָּד מִכֹּל בֵּית אָבִיו

 34:19 w'lo-ëchar haNaar laásôt haDävär Kiy chäfëtz B'vat-yaáqov w'hû nikh'Bäd miKol Bëyt äviyw

וַיָּבֹא חֲמוֹר וּשְׁכֶם בְּנוֹ אֶל־שַׁעַר עִירָם וַיְדַבְּרוּ אֶל־אַנְשֵׁי עִירָם לֵאמֹר

 34:20 waYävo chámôr ûsh'khem B'nô el-shaar iyräm way'daB'rû el-an'shëy iyräm lëmor

 34:20 ¶ And Çámôr חֲמוֹר 2544 and Šæȼem שְׁכֶם y7927 x7928 his son 1121 came 935 z8799 unto x413 the gate 8179 of their city, 5892 and communed 1696 z8762 with x413 the men y582 x376 of their city, 5892 saying, 559 z8800

הָאֲנָשִׁים הָאֵלֶּה שְׁלֵמִים הֵם אִתָּנוּ וְיֵשְׁבוּ בָאָרֶץ וְיִסְחֲרוּ אֹתָהּ וְהָאָרֶץ הִנֵּה רַחֲבַת־יָדַיִם לִפְנֵיהֶם אֶת־בְּנֹתָם נִקַּח־לָנוּ לְנָשִׁים וְאֶת־בְּנֹתֵינוּ נִתֵּן לָהֶם

 34:21 These x428 men y582 x376 [are] peaceable 8003 with 854 us; therefore let them dwell 3427 z8799 in the land, 776 and trade 5503 z8799 therein; for the land, 776 behold, x2009 [it is] large y7342 enough 3027 x7342 for x6440 them; y6440 let us take 3947 z8799 x853 their daughters 1323 to us for wives, 802 and let us give 5414 z8799 them our daughters. 1323

מִקְנֵהֶם וְקִנְיָנָם וְכָל־בְּהֶמְתָּם הֲלוֹא לָנוּ הֵם אַךְ נֵאוֹתָה לָהֶם וְיֵשְׁבוּ אִתָּנוּ

 34:23 miq'nëhem w'qin'yänäm w'khäl-B'hem'Täm hálô länû hëm akh' nëôtäh lähem w'yësh'vû iTänû

 34:23 [Shall] not x3808 their cattle 4735 and their substance 7075 and every x3605 beast 929 of theirs [be] ours? only x389 let us consent 225 z8735 unto them, and they will dwell 3427 z8799 with x854 us.

וַיִּשְׁמְעוּ אֶל־חֲמוֹר וְאֶל־שְׁכֶם בְּנוֹ כָּל־יֹצְאֵי שַׁעַר עִירוֹ וַיִּמֹּלוּ כָּל־זָכָר כָּל־יֹצְאֵי שַׁעַר עִירוֹ

 34:24 waYish'm'û el-chámôr w'el-sh'khem B'nô Käl-yotz'ëy shaar iyrô waYiMolû Käl-zäkhär Käl-yotz'ëy shaar iyrô

 34:24 And unto x413 Çámôr חֲמוֹר 2544 and unto x413 Šæȼem שְׁכֶם y7927 x7928 his son 1121 hearkened 8085 z8799 all x3605 that went out 3318 z8802 of the gate 8179 of his city; 5892 and every x3605 male 2145 was circumcised, 4135 z8735 all x3605 that went out 3318 z8802 of the gate 8179 of his city. 5892

וַיְהִי בַיּוֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי בִּהְיוֹתָם כֹּאֲבִים וַיִּקְחוּ שְׁנֵי־בְנֵי־יַעֲקֹב שִׁמְעוֹן וְלֵוִי אֲחֵי דִינָה אִישׁ חַרְבּוֹ וַיָּבֹאוּ עַל־הָעִיר בֶּטַח וַיַּהַרְגוּ כָּל־זָכָר

 34:25 ¶ And it came to pass x1961 on the third 7992 day, 3117 when they were x1961 sore, 3510 z8802 that two 8147 of the sons 1121 of Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב, 3290 Šim`ôn שִׁמעוֹן 8095 and Lëwî לֵוִי, 3878 Dînà's דִּינָה 1783 brethren, 251 took 3947 z8799 each man 376 his sword, 2719 and came 935 z8799 upon x5921 the city 5892 boldly, 983 and slew 2026 z8799 all x3605 the males. 2145

בְּנֵי יַעֲקֹב בָּאוּ עַל־הַחֲלָלִים וַיָּבֹזּוּ הָעִיר אֲשֶׁר טִמְּאוּ אֲחוֹתָם

 34:27 B'nëy yaáqov Bäû al-hacháläliym waYävoZû häiyr ásher ţiM'û áchôtäm

 34:27 The sons 1121 of Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב 3290 came 935 z8804 upon x5921 the slain, 2491 and spoiled 962 z8799 the city, 5892 because x834 they had defiled 2930 z8765 their sister. 269

אֶת־צֹאנָם וְאֶת־בְּקָרָם וְאֶת־חֲמֹרֵיהֶּם וְאֵת אֲשֶׁר־בָּעִיר וְאֶת־אֲשֶׁר בַּשָּׂדֶה לָקָחוּ

 34:28 et-tzonäm w'et-B'qäräm w'et-chámorëyHem w'ët ásher-Bäiyr w'et-ásher BaSädeh läqächû

 34:28 They took 3947 z8804 x853 their sheep, 6629 and their oxen, 1241 and their asses, 2543 and that which x834 [was] in the city, 5892 and that which x834 [was] in the field, 7704

וְאֶת־כָּל־חֵילָם וְאֶת־כָּל־טַפָּם וְאֶת־נְשֵׁיהֶם שָׁבוּ וַיָּבֹזּוּ וְאֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר בַּבָּיִת

 34:29 w'et-Käl-chëyläm w'et-Käl-ţaPäm w'et-n'shëyhem shävû waYävoZû w'ët Käl-ásher BaBäyit

 34:29 And all x3605 their wealth, 2428 and all x3605 their little ones, 2945 and their wives 802 took they captive, 7617 z8804 and spoiled 962 z8799 even all x3605 that x834 [was] in the house. 1004

וַיֹּאמֶר יַעֲקֹב אֶל־שִׁמְעוֹן וְאֶל־לֵוִי עֲכַרְתֶּם אֹתִי לְהַבְאִישֵׁנִי בְּיֹשֵׁב הָאָרֶץ בַּכְּנַעֲנִי וּבַפְּרִזִּי וַאֲנִי מְתֵי מִסְפָּר וְנֶאֶסְפוּ עָלַי וְהִכּוּנִי וְנִשְׁמַדְתִּי אֲנִי וּבֵיתִי

 34:30 And Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב 3290 said 559 z8799 to x413 Šim`ôn שִׁמעוֹן 8095 and Lëwî לֵוִי, 3878 Ye have troubled 5916 z8804 me to make me to stink 887 z8687 among the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of the land, 776 among the Cæna`ánîm כְּנַעֲנִים 3669 and the Pærizzîm פְּרִזִּים: 6522 and I x589 [being] few 4962 in number, 4557 they shall gather themselves together 622 z8738 against x5921 me, and slay x5221 me; y5221 z8689 and I shall be destroyed, 8045 z8738 I x589 and my house. 1004

וַיֹּאמְרוּ הַכְזוֹנָה יַעֲשֶׂה אֶת־אֲחוֹתֵנוּ פ
