of the earth:º
renderºº
a rewardº

the proud.º |

Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud. |

shall the wicked,º

shall the wickedº

Yahweh, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph? |

[How long] shall they utterºº
[and] speakºº
hard things?º
[and] allº
the workersºº
of iniquityº
boastºº
themselves?º |

[How long] shall they utter [and] speak hard things? [and] all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? |

They break in piecesºº
thy people,º

יָהוֶה,º
and afflictºº
thine heritage.º |

They break in pieces thy people, O Yahweh, and afflict thine heritage. |

They slayºº
the widowº
and the stranger,º
and murderºº
the fatherless.º |
|

They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. |

Yet they say,ºº
Yäh
יָהº
shall notº
see,ºº
neitherº
shall the
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִיםº
of
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹבº
regardºº
[it]. |

Yet they say, Yah shall not see, neither shall the Elohim of Yaaqov regard [it]. |

Understand,ºº
ye brutishºº
among the people:º
and [ye] fools,º
whenº
will ye be wise?ºº |

Understand, ye brutish among the people: and [ye] fools, when will ye be wise? |

He that plantedºº
the ear,º
shall he notº
hear?ºº
he that formedºº
the eye,º
shall he notº
see?ºº |

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see? |

He that chastisethºº
the heathen,º
shall notº
he correct?ºº
he that teachethºº
manº
knowledge,º
[shall not he know]? |

He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, [shall not he know]? |

the thoughtsº
of man,º
thatº
theyº
[are] vanity.º |

Yahweh knoweth the thoughts of man, that they [are] vanity. |

Blessedº
[is] the manº
whomº
thou chastenest,ºº

Yäh
יָה,º
and teachestºº
him out of thy law;ºº |

Blessed [is] the man whom thou chastenest, O Yah, and teachest him out of thy law; |
|

That thou mayest give him restºº
from the daysºº
of adversity,º
untilº
the pitº
be diggedºº
for the wicked.º |

That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked. |

יָהוֶהº
will notº
cast offºº
his people,º
neitherº
will he forsakeºº
his inheritance.º |

For Yahweh will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance. |
|

Butº
judgmentº
shall returnºº
untoº
righteousness:º
and allº
the uprightº
in heartº
shall followº
it. |
|
94:15
But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it. |
|
94:16
Whoº
will rise upºº
for me againstº
the evildoers?ºº
[or] whoº
will stand upºº
for me againstº
the workersºº
of iniquity?º |
|
94:16
Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? [or] who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? |

Unlessº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
[had been] my help,º
my soulº
had almostº
dweltºº
in silence.º |
|
94:17
Unless Yahweh [had been] my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. |
|
94:18
Whenº
I said,ºº
My footº
slippeth;ºº
thy mercy,º
O
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
held me up.ºº |

94:18
When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Yahweh, held me up. |
|
94:19
In the multitudeº
of my thoughtsº
withinº
me thy comfortsº
delightºº
my soul.º |
|
94:19
In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. |
|
94:20
Shall the throneº
of iniquityº
have fellowshipºº
with thee, which framethºº
mischiefº
byº
a law?º |
|
94:20
Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? |
|
94:21
They gather themselves togetherºº
againstº
the soulº
of the righteous,º
and condemnºº
the innocentº
blood.º |
|
94:21
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. |
|
94:22
But
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
isº
my defence;º
and my
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִיםº
[is] the rockº
of my refuge.º |
|
94:22
But Yahweh is my defence; and my Elohim [is] the rock of my refuge. |
|
94:23
And he shall bringºº
uponº
themº
their own iniquity,º
and shall cut them offºº
in their own wickedness;º
[yea],
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
our
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִיםº
shall cut them off.ºº |
|
94:23
And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; [yea], Yahweh our Elohim shall cut them off. |
