Isaiah 63

1 Christ sheweth who he is, 2 what his victory over his enemies, 7 and what his mercy toward his Church. 10 In his just wrath he remembereth his free mercy. 15 The Church in their prayer, 17 and complaint, profess their faith.

 63:1 Who 4310 is this 2088 who comes 935 from Edom 112b, With garments 899b of glowing 2556b colors 2556b from Bozrah 1224a, This 2088 One 2088 who is majestic 1921 in His apparel 3830, Marching 6808 in the greatness 7230 of His strength 3581b? “It is I who speak 1696 in righteousness 6666, mighty 7227a to save 3467.”

 63:2 Why 4069 is Your apparel 3830 red 122, And Your garments 899b like the one who treads 1869 in the wine 1660 press 1660?

 63:3 “I have trodden 1869 the wine 6333b trough 6333b alone 905, And from the peoples 5971a there 369 was no 369 man 376 with Me. I also trod 1869 them in My anger 639 And trampled 7429 them in My wrath 2534; And their lifeblood 5332 is sprinkled 5137a on My garments 899b, And I stained 1351 all 3605 My raiment 4403.

 63:4 “For the day 3117 of vengeance 5359 was in My heart 3820, And My year 8141 of redemption 1347a has come 935.

 63:5 “I looked 5027, and there 369 was no 369 one 369 to help 5826, And I was astonished 8074 and there 369 was no 369 one 369 to uphold 5564; So My own arm 2220 brought 3467 salvation 3467 to Me, And My wrath 2534 upheld 5564 Me.

 63:6 “I trod 947 down 947 the peoples 5971a in My anger 639 And made them drunk 7937 in My wrath 2534, And I poured 3381 out their lifeblood 5332 on the earth 776.”

 63:7 ¶ I shall make 2142 mention 2142 of the lovingkindnesses 2617a of the LORD 3068, the praises 8416 of the LORD 3068, According 5921 to all 3605 that the LORD 3068 has granted 1580 us, And the great 7227a goodness 2898 toward the house 1004 of Israel 3478, Which 834 He has granted 1580 them according to His compassion 7356 And according to the abundance 7230 of His lovingkindnesses 2617a.

 63:8 For He said 559, “Surely 389, they are My people 5971a, Sons 1121 who will not deal 8266 falsely 8266.” So He became 1961 their Savior 3467.

 63:9 In all 3605 their affliction 6869a He was afflicted 6862b, And the angel 4397 of His presence 6440 saved 3467 them; In His love 160 and in His mercy 2551 He redeemed 1350 them, And He lifted 5190 them and carried 5375 them all 3605 the days 3117 of old 5769.

 63:10 But they rebelled 4784 And grieved 6087a His Holy 6944 Spirit 7307; Therefore He turned 2015 Himself to become their enemy 340, He fought 3898a against them.

 63:11 Then His people 5971a remembered 2142 the days 3117 of old 5769, of Moses 4872. Where 346 is He who brought 5927 them up out of the sea 3220 with the shepherds 7462a of His flock 6629? Where 346 is He who put 7760 His Holy 6944 Spirit 7307 in the midst 7130 of them,

 63:12 Who caused His glorious 8597 arm 2220 to go 1980 at the right 3225 hand 3225 of Moses 4872, Who divided 1234 the waters 4325 before 4480 6440 them to make 6213a for Himself an everlasting 5769 name 8034,

 63:13 Who led 1980 them through the depths 8415? Like the horse 5483b in the wilderness 4057b, they did not stumble 3782;

 63:14 As the cattle 929 which go 3381 down 3381 into the valley 1237, The Spirit 7307 of the LORD 3068 gave 5117 them rest 5117. So 3651 You led 5090a Your people 5971a, To make 6213a for Yourself a glorious 8597 name 8034.

 63:15 ¶ Look 5027 down 5027 from heaven 8064 and see 7200 from Your holy 6944 and glorious 8597 habitation 2073; Where 346 are Your zeal 7068 and Your mighty 1369 deeds 1369? The stirrings 1995 of Your heart 4578 and Your compassion 7356 are restrained 662 toward 413 me.

 63:16 For You are our Father 1, though 3588 Abraham 85 does not know 3045 us And Israel 3478 does not recognize 5234 us. You, O LORD 3068, are our Father 1, Our Redeemer 1350 from of old 5769 is Your name 8034.

 63:17 Why 4100, O LORD 3068, do You cause us to stray 8582 from Your ways 1870 And harden 7188 our heart 3820 from fearing 3374 You? Return 7725 for the sake 4616 of Your servants 5650, the tribes 7626 of Your heritage 5159.

 63:18 Your holy 6944 people 5971a possessed 3423 Your sanctuary 4720 for a little 4705 while 4705, Our adversaries 6862c have trodden 947 [it] down 947.

 63:19 We have become 1961 [like] those over whom You have never 3808 4480 5769 ruled 4910, [Like] those who were not called 7121 by Your name 8034.
