Isaiah 61

1 The office of Christ. 4 The forwardness, 7 and blessings of the faithful.

 61:1 The Spirit 7307 of the Lord 136 GOD 3068 is upon me, Because 3282 the LORD 3068 has anointed 4886 me To bring 1319 good news 1319 to the afflicted 6035; He has sent 7971 me to bind 2280 up the brokenhearted 7665 3820, To proclaim 7121 liberty 1865 to captives 7617 And freedom 6495 to prisoners 631;

 61:2 To proclaim 7121 the favorable 7522 year 8141 of the LORD 3068 And the day 3117 of vengeance 5359 of our God 430; To comfort 5162 all 3605 who mourn 57,

 61:3 To grant 7760 those who mourn 57 [in] Zion 6726, Giving 5414 them a garland 6287b instead 8478 of ashes 665, The oil 8081 of gladness 8342 instead 8478 of mourning 60, The mantle 4594 of praise 8416 instead 8478 of a spirit 7307 of fainting 3544. So they will be called 7121 oaks 352d of righteousness 6664, The planting 4302 of the LORD 3068, that He may be glorified 6286.

 61:4 ¶ Then they will rebuild 1129 the ancient 5769 ruins 2723, They will raise 6965 up the former 7223 devastations 8074; And they will repair 2318 the ruined 2721b cities 5892b, The desolations 8074 of many 1755 generations 1755.

 61:5 Strangers 2114a will stand 5975 and pasture 7462a your flocks 6629, And foreigners 1121 5236 will be your farmers 406 and your vinedressers 3755.

 61:6 But you will be called 7121 the priests 3548 of the LORD 3068; You will be spoken 7121 of [as] ministers 8334 of our God 430. You will eat 398 the wealth 2428 of nations 1471, And in their riches 3519b you will boast 3235.

 61:7 Instead 8478 of your shame 1322 [you will have a] double 4932 [portion], And [instead of] humiliation 3639 they will shout 7442 for joy 7442 over their portion 2506. Therefore 3651 they will possess 3423 a double 4932 [portion] in their land 776, Everlasting 5769 joy 8057 will be theirs 1992a.

 61:8 For I, the LORD 3068, love 157 justice 4941, I hate 8130 robbery 1498 in the burnt 5930a offering 5930a; And I will faithfully 571 give 5414 them their recompense 6468 And make 3772 an everlasting 5769 covenant 1285 with them.

 61:9 Then their offspring 2233 will be known 3045 among the nations 1471, And their descendants 6631 in the midst 8432 of the peoples 5971a. All 3605 who see 7200 them will recognize 5234 them Because 3588 they are the offspring 2233 [whom] the LORD 3068 has blessed 1288.

 61:10 ¶ I will rejoice 7797 greatly 7797 in the LORD 3068, My soul 5315 will exult 1523 in my God 430; For He has clothed 3847 me with garments 899b of salvation 3468, He has wrapped 5844a me with a robe 4598 of righteousness 6666, As a bridegroom 2860a decks 3547 himself with a garland 6287b, And as a bride 3618 adorns 5710b herself with her jewels 3627.

 61:11 For as the earth 776 brings 3318 forth 3318 its sprouts 6780, And as a garden 1593 causes the things 2221 sown 2221 in it to spring 6779 up, So 3651 the Lord 136 GOD 3068 will cause righteousness 6666 and praise 8416 To spring 6779 up before 5048 all 3605 the nations 1471.
