Isaiah 33

1 God's judgment against the enemies of his Church. 13 The privileges of the godly.

 33:1 Woe 1945 to you, O destroyer 7703, While you were not destroyed 7703; And he who is treacherous 898, while [others] did not deal 898 treacherously 898 with him. As soon as you finish 8552 destroying 7703, you will be destroyed 7703; As soon as you cease 5239 to deal 898 treacherously 898, [others] will deal 898 treacherously 898 with you.

 33:2 O LORD 3068, be gracious 2603a to us; we have waited 6960a for You. Be their strength 2220 every morning 1242, Our salvation 3444 also 637 in the time 6256 of distress 6869a.

 33:3 At the sound 6963 of the tumult 1995 peoples 5971a flee 5074; At the lifting 7427 up of Yourself nations 1471 disperse 5310b.

 33:4 Your spoil 7998 is gathered 622 [as] the caterpillar 2625 gathers 625; As locusts 1361a rushing 4944 about 4944 men rush 8264 about 8264 on it.

 33:5 The LORD 3068 is exalted 7682, for He dwells 7931 on high 4791; He has filled 4390 Zion 6726 with justice 4941 and righteousness 6666.

 33:6 And He will be the stability 530 of your times 6256, A wealth 2633 of salvation 3444, wisdom 2451 and knowledge 1847; The fear 3374 of the LORD 3068 is his treasure 214.

 33:7 Behold 2005, their brave 691 men 691 cry 6817 in the streets 2351, The ambassadors 4397 of peace 7965 weep 1058 bitterly 4751.

 33:8 The highways 4546 are desolate 8074, the traveler 5674a has ceased 7673a, He has broken 6565a the covenant 1285, he has despised 3988a the cities 5892b, He has no 3808 regard 2803 for man 582.

 33:9 The land 776 mourns 56 [and] pines 535 away 535, Lebanon 3844 is shamed 2659 [and] withers 7060; Sharon 8289 is like a desert 6160 plain 6160, And Bashan 1316 and Carmel 3760 lose 5287 [their foliage].

 33:10 “Now 6258 I will arise 6965,” says 559 the LORD 3068, “Now 6258 I will be exalted 7426a, now 6258 I will be lifted 5375 up.

 33:11 “You have conceived 2029 chaff 2842, you will give 3205 birth 3205 to stubble 7179; My breath 7307 will consume 398 you like a fire 784.

 33:12 “The peoples 5971a will be burned 4955 to lime 7875, Like cut 3683 thorns 6975 which are burned 3341 in the fire 784.

 33:13 ¶ “You who 7350 are far 7350 away 7350, hear 8085 what 834 I have done 6213a; And you who 7138 are near 7138, acknowledge 3045 My might 1369.”

 33:14 Sinners 2400 in Zion 6726 are terrified 6342; Trembling 7461b has seized 270 the godless 2611. “Who 4310 among us can live 1481a with the consuming 398 fire 784? Who 4310 among us can live 1481a with continual 5769 burning 4168?”

 33:15 He who walks 1980 righteously 6666 and speaks 1696 with sincerity 4339, He who rejects 3988a unjust 1215 4642 gain 1215 And shakes 5287 his hands 3709 so 4480 that they hold 8551 no 4480 bribe 7810; He who stops 331 his ears 241 from hearing 8085 about bloodshed 1818 And shuts 6105b his eyes 5869 from looking 7200 upon evil 7451b;

 33:16 He will dwell 7931 on the heights 4791, His refuge 4869 will be the impregnable 4679 rock 5553; His bread 3899 will be given 5414 [him], His water 4325 will be sure 539.

 33:17 ¶ Your eyes 5869 will see 2372 the King 4428 in His beauty 3308; They will behold 7200 a far-distant 4801 land 776.

 33:18 Your heart 3820 will meditate 1897 on terror 367: “Where 346 is he who counts 5608? Where 346 is he who weighs 8254? Where 346 is he who counts 5608 the towers 4026?”

 33:19 You will no 3808 longer see 7200 a fierce 3267 people 5971a, A people 5971a of unintelligible 6012 speech 8193 which no 4480 one comprehends 8085, Of a stammering 3932 tongue 3956 which no 369 one 369 understands 998.

 33:20 Look 2372 upon Zion 6726, the city 7151 of our appointed 4150 feasts 4150; Your eyes 5869 will see 7200 Jerusalem 3389, an undisturbed 7600 habitation 5116a, A tent 168 which will not be folded 6813; Its stakes 3489 will never 1077 5331 be pulled 5265 up, Nor 1077 any 3605 of its cords 2256a be torn 5423 apart 5423.

 33:21 But there 8033 the majestic 117 [One], the LORD 3068, will be for us A place 4725 of rivers 5104 [and] wide 7342 canals 2975 On which no 1077 boat 590 with oars 7885 will go 1980, And on which no 3808 mighty 117 ship 6716a will pass 5674a—

 33:22 For the LORD 3068 is our judge 8199, The LORD 3068 is our lawgiver 2710, The LORD 3068 is our king 4428; He will save 3467 us—

 33:23 Your tackle 2256a hangs 5203 slack 5203; It cannot 1077 hold 2388 the base 3653b of its mast 8650 firmly 2388, Nor 1077 spread 6566 out the sail 5251. Then 227 the prey 5706 of an abundant 4766 spoil 7998 will be divided 2505a; The lame 6455 will take 962 the plunder 957.

 33:24 And no 1077 resident 7934 will say 559, “I am sick 2470a”; The people 5971a who dwell 3427 there will be forgiven 5375 [their] iniquity 5771.
