Isaiah 57

1 The blessed death of the righteous. 3 God reproveth the Jews for their whorish idolatry. 13 He giveth evangelical promises to the penitent.

 57:1 The righteous 6662 man 6662 perishes 6, and no 369 man 376 takes 7760 it to heart 3820; And devout 2617a men 376 are taken 622 away 622, while no 369 one 369 understands 995. For the righteous 6662 man 6662 is taken 622 away 622 from evil 7463a,

 57:2 He enters 935 into peace 7965; They rest 5117 in their beds 4904, [Each one] who walked 1980 in his upright 5228 way 5228.

 57:3 “But come 7126 here 2008, you sons 1121 of a sorceress 6049a, Offspring 2233 of an adulterer 5003 and a prostitute 2181.

 57:4 “Against 5921 whom 4310 do you jest 6026? Against 5921 whom 4310 do you open 7337 wide 7337 your mouth 6310 And stick 748 out your tongue 3956? Are you not children 3206 of rebellion 6588, Offspring 2233 of deceit 8267,

 57:5 [Who] inflame 2552 yourselves among the oaks 352d, Under 8478 every 3605 luxuriant 7488 tree 6086, Who slaughter 7819 the children 3206 in the ravines 5158a, Under 8478 the clefts 5585 of the crags 5553?

 57:6 “Among the smooth 2509 [stones] of the ravine 5158a Is your portion 2506, they are your lot 1486; Even 1571 to them you have poured 8210 out a drink 5262a offering 5262a, You have made 5927 a grain offering 4503. Shall I relent 5162 concerning 5921 these 428 things 428?

 57:7 “Upon a high 1364 and lofty 5375 mountain 2022 You have made 7760 your bed 4904. You also 1571 went 5927 up there 8033 to offer 2076 sacrifice 2077.

 57:8 “Behind 310 the door 1817 and the doorpost 4201 You have set 7760 up your sign 2146; Indeed 3588, far removed 4480 from Me, you have uncovered 1540 yourself, And have gone 5927 up and made 7337 your bed 4904 wide 7337. And you have made 3772 an agreement for yourself with them, You have loved 157 their bed 4904, You have looked 2372 on [their] manhood 3027.

 57:9 “You have journeyed 7788 to the king 4428 with oil 8081 And increased 7235a your perfumes 7547; You have sent 7971 your envoys 6735a a great distance 7350 And made [them] go 8213 down 8213 to Sheol 7585.

 57:10 “You were tired 3021 out by the length 7230 of your road 1870, [Yet] you did not say 559, ‘It is hopeless 2976.’ You found 4672 renewed 2416a strength 3027, Therefore 5921 3651 you did not faint 2470a.

 57:11 ¶ “Of whom 4310 were you worried 1672 and fearful 3372a When 3588 you lied 3576, and did not remember 2142 Me Nor 3808 give 7760 [Me] a thought 3820? Was I not silent 2814 even for a long 5769 time 5769 So you do not fear 3372a Me?

 57:12 “I will declare 5046 your righteousness 6666 and your deeds 4639, But they will not profit 3276 you.

 57:13 “When you cry 2199 out, let your collection 6899 [of idols] deliver 5337 you. But the wind 7307 will carry 5375 all 3605 of them up, [And] a breath 1892 will take 3947 [them away]. But he who takes 2620 refuge 2620 in Me will inherit 5157 the land 776 And will possess 3423 My holy 6944 mountain 2022.”

 57:14 ¶ And it will be said 559, “Build 5549 up, build 5549 up, prepare 6437 the way 1870, Remove 7311 [every] obstacle 4383 out of the way 1870 of My people 5971a.”

 57:15 For thus 3541 says 559 the high 7311 and exalted 5375 One Who lives 7931 forever 5703, whose name 8034 is Holy 6918, “I dwell 7931 [on] a high 4791 and holy 6918 place, And [also] with the contrite 1793a and lowly 8217 of spirit 7307 In order to revive 2421a the spirit 7307 of the lowly 8217 And to revive 2421a the heart 3820 of the contrite 1792.

 57:16 “For I will not contend 7378 forever 5769, Nor 3808 will I always 5331 be angry 7107; For the spirit 7307 would grow 5848c faint 5848c before 4480 6440 Me, And the breath 5397 [of those whom] I have made 6213a.

 57:17 “Because of the iniquity 5771 of his unjust 1215 gain 1215 I was angry 7107 and struck 5221 him; I hid 5641 [My face] and was angry 7107, And he went 1980 on turning 7726 away 7726, in the way 1870 of his heart 3820.

 57:18 “I have seen 7200 his ways 1870, but I will heal 7495 him; I will lead 5148 him and restore 7999a comfort 5150 to him and to his mourners 57,

 57:19 Creating 1254a the praise 5108 of the lips 8193. Peace 7965, peace 7965 to him who is far 7350 and to him who is near 7138,” Says 559 the LORD 3068, “and I will heal 7495 him.”

 57:20 But the wicked 7563 are like the tossing 1644 sea 3220, For it cannot 3201 3808 be quiet 8252, And its waters 4325 toss 1644 up refuse 7516 and mud 2916.

 57:21 “There 369 is no 369 peace 7965,” says 559 my God 430, “for the wicked 7563.”
