1 God's merciful restoration of Israel. 4 Their triumphant insultation over Babel. 24 God's purpose against Assyria. 29 Palestina is threatened.

 14:1 When 3588 the LORD 3068 will have 7355 compassion 7355 on Jacob 3290 and again 5750 choose 977 Israel 3478, and settle 5117 them in their own land 127, then strangers 1616 will join 3867a them and attach 5596 themselves to the house 1004 of Jacob 3290.

 14:2 The peoples 5971a will take 3947 them along and bring 935 them to their place 4725, and the house 1004 of Israel 3478 will possess 5157 them as an inheritance 5157 in the land 127 of the LORD 3068 as male 5650 servants 5650 and female 8198 servants 5650 8198; and they will take 1961 their captors 7617 captive 7617 and will rule 7287a over their oppressors 5065.

 14:3 ¶ And it will be in the day 3117 when the LORD 3068 gives 5117 you rest 5117 from your pain 6090a and turmoil 7267 and harsh 7186 service 5656 in which 834 you have been enslaved 5647,

 14:4 that you will take 5375 up this 2088 taunt 4912 against 5921 the king 4428 of Babylon 894, and say 559, “How 349 the oppressor 5065 has ceased 7673a, [And how] fury 4787b has ceased 7673a!

 14:5 “The LORD 3068 has broken 7665 the staff 4294 of the wicked 7563, The scepter 7626 of rulers 4910

 14:11 ‘Your pomp 1347b [and] the music 1998 of your harps 5035b Have been brought 3381 down 3381 to Sheol 7585; Maggots 7415 are spread 3331 out [as your bed] beneath 8478 you And worms 8439b are your covering 4374.’

 14:12 “How 349 you have fallen 5307 from heaven 4605, O star 1966 of the morning 1966, son 1121 of the dawn 7837! You have been cut 1438 down 1438 to the earth 776, You who have weakened 2522 the nations 1471!

 14:13 “But you said 559 in your heart 3824, ‘I will ascend 5927 to heaven 4605; I will raise 7311 my throne 3678 above 4605 the stars 3556 of God 410, And I will sit 3427 on the mount 2022 of assembly 4150 In the recesses 3411 of the north 6828.

 14:18 “All 3605 the kings 4428 of the nations 1471 lie 7901 in glory 3519b, Each 376 in his own tomb 1004.

 14:19 “But you have been cast 7993 out of your tomb 6913 Like a rejected 8581 branch 5342, Clothed 3830 with the slain 2026 who are pierced 2944 with a sword 2719, Who go 3381 down 3381 to the stones 68 of the pit 953a Like a trampled 947 corpse 6297.

 14:20 “You will not be united 3161 with them in burial 6900, Because 3588 you have ruined 7843 your country 776, You have slain 2026 your people 5971a. May the offspring 2233 of evildoers 7489a not be mentioned 7121 forever 5769.

 14:21 “Prepare 3559 for his sons 1121 a place 4293 of slaughter 4293 Because of the iniquity 5771 of their fathers 1. They must not arise 6965 and take 3423 possession 3423 of the earth 776 And fill 4390 the face 6440 of the world 8398 with cities 5892b.”

 14:22 “I will rise 6965 up against 5921 them,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, “and will cut 3772 off 3772 from Babylon 894 name 8034 and survivors 7605, offspring 5209 and posterity 5220,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068.

 14:28 ¶ In the year 8141 that King 4428 Ahaz 271 died 4194 this 2088 oracle 4853b came 1961:

 14:31 “Wail 3213, O gate 8179; cry 2199, O city 5892b; Melt 4127 away, O Philistia 6429, all 3605 of you; For smoke 6227 comes 935 from the north 6828, And there 369 is no 369 straggler 909 in his ranks 4151.

 14:32 “How 4100 then will one answer 6030a the messengers 4397 of the nation 1471? That the LORD 3068 has founded 3245 Zion 6726, And the afflicted 6041 of His people 5971a will seek 2620 refuge 2620 in it.”
