Isaiah 3

1 The great confusion which cometh by sin. 9 The impudency of the people. 12 The oppression and covetousness of the rulers. 16 The judgments which shall be for the pride of the women.

 3:1 For behold 2009, the Lord 136 GOD 3068 of hosts 6635 is going to remove 5493 from Jerusalem 3389 and Judah 3063 Both supply 4937b and support 4938a, the whole 3605 supply 4937a of bread 3899 And the whole 3605 supply 4937a of water 4325;

 3:2 The mighty 1368 man 1368 and the warrior 4421, The judge 8199 and the prophet 5030, The diviner 7080 and the elder 2205,

 3:3 The captain 8269 of fifty 2572 and the honorable 5375 6440 man, The counselor 3289 and the expert 2450 artisan 2796, And the skillful 995 enchanter 3908.

 3:4 And I will make 5414 mere lads 5288 their princes 8269, And capricious 8586 children 8586 will rule 4910 over them,

 3:5 And the people 5971a will be oppressed 5065, Each 376 one 376 by another 376, and each 376 one 376 by his neighbor 7453; The youth 5288 will storm 7292 against the elder 2205 And the inferior 7034 against the honorable 3513.

 3:6 When 3588 a man 376 lays 8610 hold 8610 of his brother 251 in his father’s 1 house 1004, [saying], “You have a cloak 8071, you shall be our ruler 7101, And these 2088 ruins 4384 will be under 8478 your charge 3027,”

 3:7 He will protest 5375 on that day 3117, saying 559, “I will not be [your] healer 2280, For in my house 1004 there 369 is neither 369 bread 3899 nor 369 cloak 8071; You should not appoint 7760 me ruler 7101 of the people 5971a.”

 3:8 For Jerusalem 3389 has stumbled 3782 and Judah 3063 has fallen 5307, Because 3588 their speech 3956 and their actions 4611 are against 413 the LORD 3068, To rebel 4784 against His glorious 3519b presence 5869.

 3:9 The expression 1971 of their faces 6440 bears 6030a witness 6030a against them, And they display 5046 their sin 2403b like Sodom 5467; They do not [even] conceal 3582 [it]. Woe 188 to them! For they have brought 1580 evil 7463a on themselves.

 3:10 Say 559 to the righteous 6662 that [it will go] well 2895 [with them], For they will eat 398 the fruit 6529 of their actions 4611.

 3:11 Woe 188 to the wicked 7563! [It will go] badly 7451a [with him], For what 1576 3027 he deserves 1576 3027 will be done 6213a to him.

 3:12 O My people 5971a! Their oppressors 5065 are children 5953c, And women 802 rule 4910 over them. O My people 5971a! Those who guide 833 you lead 8582 [you] astray 8582 And confuse 1104 the direction 1870 of your paths 734.

 3:13 ¶ The LORD 3068 arises 5324 to contend 7378, And stands 5975 to judge 1777 the people 5971a.

 3:14 The LORD 3068 enters 935 into judgment 4941 with the elders 2205 and princes 8269 of His people 5971a, “It is you who have devoured 1197a the vineyard 3754; The plunder 1500 of the poor 6041 is in your houses 1004.

 3:15 “What 4100 do you mean by crushing 1792 My people 5971a And grinding 2912 the face 6440 of the poor 6041?” Declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068 of hosts 6635.

 3:16 ¶ Moreover, the LORD 3068 said 559, “Because 3282 3588 the daughters 1323 of Zion 6726 are proud 1361b And walk 1980 with heads 1627 held 5186 high 5186 and seductive 8265 eyes 5869, And go 1980 along with mincing 2952 steps 2952 And tinkle 5913 the bangles 5913 on their feet 7272,

 3:17 Therefore the Lord 136 will afflict 8197c the scalp 6936 of the daughters 1323 of Zion 6726 with scabs 8197c, And the LORD 3068 will make 6168 their foreheads 6596 bare 6168.”

 3:18 In that day 3117 the Lord 136 will take 5493 away 5493 the beauty 8597 of [their] anklets 5914, headbands 7636, crescent 7720 ornaments 7720,

 3:19 dangling 5188 earrings 5188, bracelets 8285, veils 7479,

 3:20 headdresses 6287b, ankle 6807b chains 6807b, sashes 7196, perfume 1004 5315 boxes 1004, amulets 3908,

 3:21 finger 2885 rings 2885, nose 639 rings 5141,

 3:22 festal 4254 robes 4254, outer 4595 tunics 4595, cloaks 4304, money 2754 purses 2754,

 3:23 hand 1549 mirrors 1549, undergarments 5466, turbans 6797 and veils 7289.

 3:24 Now it will come 1961 about that instead 8478 of sweet 1314 perfume 1314 there will be putrefaction 4716; Instead 8478 of a belt 2290b, a rope 5364; Instead 8478 of well-set 4748 hair 4748, a plucked-out 7144 scalp 7144; Instead 8478 of fine 6614 clothes 6614, a donning 4228 of sackcloth 8242; And branding 3587 instead 8478 of beauty 3308.

 3:25 Your men 4962 will fall 5307 by the sword 2719 And your mighty 1369 ones 1369 in battle 4421.

 3:26 And her gates 6607 will lament 578 and mourn 56, And deserted 5352 she will sit 3427 on the ground 776.
