Isaiah 26

1 A song inciting to confidence in God, 5 for his judgments, 12 and for favour to his people. 20 An exhortation to wait on God.

 26:1 In that day 3117 this 2088 song 7892a will be sung 7891 in the land 776 of Judah 3063: “We have a strong 5797 city 5892b; He sets 7896 up walls 2346 and ramparts 2426 for security 3444.

 26:2 “Open 6605a the gates 8179, that the righteous 6662 nation 1471 may enter 935, The one that remains 8104 faithful 529.

 26:3 “The steadfast 5564 of mind 3336 You will keep 5341 in perfect 7965 peace 7965, Because 3588 he trusts 982 in You.

 26:4 “Trust 982 in the LORD 3068 forever 5703, For in GOD 3050 the LORD 3068, [we have] an everlasting 5769 Rock 6697.

 26:5 “For He has brought 7817 low 7817 those who dwell 3427 on high 4791, the unassailable 7682 city 7151; He lays 8213 it low 8213, He lays 8213 it low 8213 to the ground 776, He casts 5060 it to the dust 6083.

 26:6 “The foot 7272 will trample 7429 it, The feet 7272 of the afflicted 6041, the steps 6471 of the helpless 1800b.”

 26:7 ¶ The way 734 of the righteous 6662 is smooth 4339; O Upright 3477 One 3477, make 6424 the path 4570 of the righteous 6662 level 6424.

 26:8 Indeed 637, [while following] the way 734 of Your judgments 4941, O LORD 3068, We have waited 6960a for You eagerly 6960a; Your name 8034, even Your memory 2143, is the desire 8378 of [our] souls 5315.

 26:9 At night 3915 my soul 5315 longs 183 for You, Indeed 637, my spirit 7307 within 7130 me seeks 7836 You diligently 7836; For when 3512c the earth 776 experiences Your judgments 4941 The inhabitants 3427 of the world 8398 learn 3925 righteousness 6664.

 26:10 [Though] the wicked 7563 is shown 2603a favor 2603a, He does not learn 3925 righteousness 6664; He deals 5765 unjustly 5765 in the land 776 of uprightness 5228, And does not perceive 7200 the majesty 1348 of the LORD 3068.

 26:11 ¶ O LORD 3068, Your hand 3027 is lifted 7311 up [yet] they do not see 2372 it. They see 2372 [Your] zeal 7068 for the people 5971a and are put 954 to shame 954; Indeed 637, fire 784 will devour 398 Your enemies 6862c.

 26:12 LORD 3068, You will establish 8239 peace 7965 for us, Since 3588 You have also 1571 performed 6466 for us all 3605 our works 4639.

 26:13 O LORD 3068 our God 430, other masters 113 besides 2108 You have ruled 1166 us; [But] through You alone 905 we confess 2142 Your name 8034.

 26:14 The dead 4191 will not live 2421a, the departed 7496 spirits 7496 will not rise 6965; Therefore 3651 You have punished 6485 and destroyed 8045 them, And You have wiped 6 out all 3605 remembrance 2143 of them.

 26:15 You have increased 3254 the nation 1471, O LORD 3068, You have increased 3254 the nation 1471, You are glorified 3513; You have extended 7368 all 3605 the borders 7099 of the land 776.

 26:16 O LORD 3068, they sought 6485 You in distress 6862b; They could only whisper 3908 a prayer 3908, Your chastening 4148 was upon them.

 26:17 As the pregnant 2030 woman 2030 approaches 7126 [the time] to give 3205 birth 3205, She writhes 2342a [and] cries 2199 out in her labor 2256b pains 2256b, Thus 3651 were we before 4480 6440 You, O LORD 3068.

 26:18 We were pregnant 2029, we writhed 2342a [in labor], We gave 3205 birth 3205, as it seems, [only] to wind 7307. We could not accomplish 6213a deliverance 3444 for the earth 776, Nor 1077 were inhabitants 3427 of the world 8398 born 5307.

 26:19 Your dead 4191 will live 2421a; Their corpses 5038 will rise 6965. You who lie 7931 in the dust 6083, awake 7019a and shout 7442 for joy 7442, For your dew 2919 [is as] the dew 2919 of the dawn 219a, And the earth 776 will give 5307 birth 5307 to the departed 7496 spirits 7496.

 26:20 ¶ Come 1980, my people 5971a, enter 935 into your rooms 2315 And close 5462 your doors 1802b behind 1157 you; Hide 2247 for a little 4592 while 7281 Until 5704 indignation 2195 runs 5674a [its] course 5674a.

 26:21 For behold 2009, the LORD 3068 is about to come 3318 out from His place 4725 To punish 6485 the inhabitants 3427 of the earth 776 for their iniquity 5771; And the earth 776 will reveal 1540 her bloodshed 1818 And will no 3808 longer 5750 cover 3680 her slain 2026.
