Isaiah 24

1 The doleful judgments of God upon the land. 13 A remnant shall joyfully praise him. 16 God in his judgments shall advance his Kingdom.

 24:1 Behold 2009, the LORD 3068 lays 1238b the earth 776 waste 1238b, devastates 1110 it, distorts 5753a its surface 6440 and scatters 6327a its inhabitants 3427.

 24:2 And the people 5971a will be like the priest 3548, the servant 5650 like his master 113, the maid 8198 like her mistress 1404, the buyer 7069 like the seller 4376, the lender 3867b like the borrower 3867b, the creditor 5383 like the debtor 5377.

 24:3 The earth 776 will be completely 1238b laid 1238b waste 1238b and completely 962 despoiled 962, for the LORD 3068 has spoken 1696 this 2088 word 1697.

 24:4 The earth 776 mourns 56 [and] withers 5034b, the world 8398 fades 535 [and] withers 5034b, the exalted 4791 of the people 5971a of the earth 776 fade 535 away 535.

 24:5 The earth 776 is also polluted 2610 by its inhabitants 3427, for they transgressed 5674a laws 8451, violated 2498 statutes 2706, broke 6565a the everlasting 5769 covenant 1285.

 24:6 Therefore 5921 3651, a curse 423 devours 398 the earth 776, and those who live 3427 in it are held 816 guilty 816. Therefore 5921 3651, the inhabitants 3427 of the earth 776 are burned 2787, and few 4213 men 582 are left 7604.

 24:7 ¶ The new 8492 wine 8492 mourns 56, The vine 1612 decays 535, All 3605 the merry-hearted 8056 3820 sigh 584.

 24:8 The gaiety 4885 of tambourines 8596 ceases 7673a, The noise 7588 of revelers 5947 stops 2308, The gaiety 4885 of the harp 3658 ceases 7673a.

 24:9 They do not drink 8354 wine 3196 with song 7892a; Strong 7941 drink 7941 is bitter 4843 to those who drink 8354 it.

 24:10 The city 7151 of chaos 8414 is broken 7665 down 7665; Every 3605 house 1004 is shut 5462 up so 4480 that none 4480 may enter 935.

 24:11 There is an outcry 6682 in the streets 2351 concerning 5921 the wine 3196; All 3605 joy 8057 turns 6150 to gloom 6150. The gaiety 4885 of the earth 776 is banished 1540.

 24:12 Desolation 8047 is left 7604 in the city 5892b And the gate 8179 is battered 3807 to ruins 7591.

 24:15 Therefore 5921 3651 glorify 3513 the LORD 3068 in the east 747a, The name 8034 of the LORD 3068, the God 430 of Israel 3478, In the coastlands 339 of the sea 3220.

 24:16 From the ends 3671 of the earth 776 we hear 8085 songs 2158, “Glory 6643a to the Righteous 6662 One 6662,” But I say 559, “Woe 7334 to me! Woe 7334 to me! Alas 188 for me! The treacherous 898 deal 898 treacherously 898, And the treacherous 898 deal 898 very 899a treacherously 898.”

 24:17 Terror 6343 and pit 6354 and snare 6341a Confront 5921 you, O inhabitant 3427 of the earth 776.

 24:18 Then it will be that he who flees 5127 the report 6963 of disaster 6343 will fall 5307 into the pit 6354, And he who climbs 5927 out of the pit 6354 will be caught 3920 in the snare 6341a; For the windows 699 above 4480 4791 are opened 6605a, and the foundations 4144 of the earth 776 shake 7493.

 24:19 The earth 776 is broken 7489b asunder 7489b, The earth 776 is split 6565b through 6565b, The earth 776 is shaken 4131 violently 4131.

 24:20 The earth 776 reels 5128 to and fro 5128 like a drunkard 7910 And it totters 5110 like a shack 4412, For its transgression 6588 is heavy 3513 upon it, And it will fall 5307, never 3808 to rise 6965 again 3254.

 24:21 So it will happen 1961 in that day 3117, That the LORD 3068 will punish 6485 the host 6635 of heaven 4791 on high 4791, And the kings 4428 of the earth 127 on earth 127.

 24:22 They will be gathered 622 together 626 [Like] prisoners 616 in the dungeon 953a, And will be confined 5462 in prison 4525; And after 4480 many 7230 days 3117 they [will] [be] punished 6485.

 24:23 Then the moon 3842 will be abashed 2659 and the sun 2535 ashamed 954, For the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 will reign 4427a on Mount 2022 Zion 6726 and in Jerusalem 3389, And [His] glory 3519b will be before 5048 His elders 2205.
