Isaiah 10

1 The woe of tyrants. 5 Assyria, the rod of hypocrites, for his pride shall be broken. 20 A remnant of Israel shall be saved. 24 Israel is comforted with promise of deliverance from Assyria.

 10:1 Woe 1945 to those who enact 2710 evil 205 statutes 2706 And to those who constantly record 3789 unjust 5999 decisions 5999,

 10:2 So as to deprive 5186 the needy 1800b of justice 1779 And rob 1497 the poor 6041 of My people 5971a of [their] rights 4941, So that widows 490 may be their spoil 7998 And that they may plunder 962 the orphans 3490.

 10:3 Now what 4100 will you do 6213a in the day 3117 of punishment 6486, And in the devastation 7724b which will come 935 from afar 4801? To whom 4310 will you flee 5127 for help 5833? And where 575 will you leave 5800a your wealth 3519b?

 10:4 Nothing 1115 [remains] but to crouch 3766 among 8478 the captives 616 Or fall 5307 among 8478 the slain 2026. In [spite of] all 3605 this 384, His anger 639 does not turn 7725 away 7725 And His hand 3027 is still 5750 stretched 5186 out.

 10:5 ¶ Woe 1945 to Assyria 804b, the rod 7626 of My anger 639 And the staff 4294 in whose hands 3027 is My indignation 2195,

 10:6 I send 7971 it against a godless 2611 nation 1471 And commission 6680 it against 5921 the people 5971a of My fury 5678 To capture 7997b booty 7998 and to seize 962 plunder 957, And to trample 4823 them down 4823 like mud 2563a in the streets 2351.

 10:7 Yet it does not so 3651 intend 1819, Nor 3808 does it plan 2803 so 3651 in its heart 3824, But rather 3588 it is its purpose 3824 to destroy 8045 And to cut 3772 off 3772 many 3808 4592 nations 1471.

 10:8 For it says 559, “Are not my princes 8269 all 3164a kings 4428?

 10:9 “Is not Calno 3641b like Carchemish 3751, Or 518 Hamath 2574 like Arpad 774, Or 518 Samaria 8111 like Damascus 1834?

 10:10 “As my hand 3027 has reached 4672 to the kingdoms 4467 of the idols 457, Whose graven 6456 images 6456 [were] greater than 4480 those of Jerusalem 3389 and Samaria 8111,

 10:11 Shall I not do 6213a to Jerusalem 3389 and her images 6091 Just 3512c as I have done 6213a to Samaria 8111 and her idols 457?”

 10:12 ¶ So it will be that when 3588 the Lord 136 has completed 1214 all 3605 His work 4639 on Mount 2022 Zion 6726 and on Jerusalem 3389, [He will say], “I will punish 6485 the fruit 6529 of the arrogant 1433 heart 3824 of the king 4428 of Assyria 804b and the pomp 8597 of his haughtiness 7312.”

 10:13 For he has said 559, “By the power 3581b of my hand 3027 and by my wisdom 2451 I did 6213a [this], For I have 995 understanding 995; And I removed 5493 the boundaries 1367 of the peoples 5971a And plundered 8154 their treasures 6264, And like a mighty 3524 man 47 I brought 3381 down 3381 [their] inhabitants 3427,

 10:14 And my hand 3027 reached 4672 to the riches 2428 of the peoples 5971a like a nest 7064, And as one gathers 622 abandoned 5800a eggs 1000, I gathered 622 all 3605 the earth 776; And there was not one that flapped 5074 its wing 3671 or opened 6475 [its] beak 6310 or chirped 6850.”

 10:15 ¶ Is the axe 1631 to boast 6286 itself over 5921 the one who chops 2672 with it? Is the saw 4883 to exalt 1431 itself over 5921 the one who wields 5130 it? [That would be] like a club 7626 wielding 5130 those who lift 7311 it, [Or] like a rod 4294 lifting 7311 [him who] is not wood 6086.

 10:16 Therefore 3651 the Lord 136, the GOD 3068 of hosts 6635, will send 7971 a wasting 7332 disease 7332 among his stout 4924a warriors 4924a; And under 8478 his glory 3519b a fire 3350 will be kindled 3344 like a burning 3350 flame 784.

 10:17 And the light 216 of Israel 3478 will become 1961 a fire 784 and his Holy 6918 One 6918 a flame 3852, And it will burn 1197a and devour 398 his thorns 7898 and his briars 8068 in a single 259 day 3117.

 10:18 And He will destroy 3615 the glory 3519b of his forest 3293a and of his fruitful 3759 garden 3759, both 4480 soul 5315 and body 1320, And it will be as when a sick 5263 man 5263 wastes 4549 away 4549.

 10:19 And the rest 7605 of the trees 6086 of his forest 3293a will be so small in number 4557 That a child 5288 could write 3789 them down 3789.

 10:20 ¶ Now in that day 3117 the remnant 7605 of Israel 3478, and those of the house 1004 of Jacob 3290 who 6413 have escaped 6413, will never 3808 again 3254 rely 8172 on the one who struck 5221 them, but will truly 571 rely 8172 on the LORD 3068, the Holy 6918 One 6918 of Israel 3478.

 10:21 A remnant 7605 will return 7725, the remnant 7605 of Jacob 3290, to the mighty 1368 God 410.

 10:22 For though 518 your people 5971a, O Israel 3478, may be like the sand 2344 of the sea 3220, [Only] a remnant 7605 within them will return 7725; A destruction 3631 is determined 2782, overflowing 7857 with righteousness 6666.

 10:23 For a complete 3617 destruction 3617, one that is decreed 2782, the Lord 136 GOD 3068 of hosts 6635 will execute 6213a in the midst 7130 of the whole 3605 land 776.

 10:24 ¶ Therefore 3651 thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068 of hosts 6635, “O My people 5971a who dwell 3427 in Zion 6726, do not fear 3372a the Assyrian 804b who strikes 5221 you with the rod 7626 and lifts 5375 up his staff 4294 against 5921 you, the way 1870 Egypt 4714 [did].

 10:25 “For in a very 4213 little 4592 while 5750 My indignation 2195 [against you] will be spent 3615 and My anger 639 [will be directed] to their destruction 8399.”

 10:26 The LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 will arouse 5782 a scourge 7752 against 5921 him like the slaughter 4347 of Midian 4080 at the rock 6697 of Oreb 6159; and His staff 4294 will be over 5921 the sea 3220 and He will lift 5375 it up the way 1870 [He did] in Egypt 4714.

 10:27 So it will be in that day 3117, that his burden 5448 will be removed 5493 from your shoulders 7926 and his yoke 5923 from your neck 6677, and the yoke 5923 will be broken 2254b because 4480 6440 of fatness 8081.

 10:28 ¶ He has come 935 against 5921 Aiath 5857, He has passed 5674a through Migron 4051; At Michmash 4363 he deposited 6485 his baggage 3627.

 10:29 They have gone 5674a through 5674a the pass 4569b, [saying], “Geba 1387 will be our lodging 4411 place 4411.” Ramah 7414 is terrified 2729, and Gibeah 1390 of Saul 7586 has fled 5127 away.

 10:30 Cry 6670a aloud 6670a with your voice 6963, O daughter 1323 of Gallim 1554! Pay 7181 attention 7181, Laishah 3919c [and] wretched 6041 Anathoth 6068!

 10:31 Madmenah 4088 has fled 5074. The inhabitants 3427 of Gebim 1374 have sought 5756 refuge 5756.

 10:32 Yet 5750 today 3117 he will halt 5975 at Nob 5011; He shakes 5130 his fist 3027 at the mountain 2022 of the daughter 1004 of Zion 6726, the hill 1389 of Jerusalem 3389.

 10:33 ¶ Behold 2009, the Lord 113, the GOD 3068 of hosts 6635, will lop 5586 off 5586 the boughs 6333a with a terrible 4637 crash 4637; Those also who are tall 7311 in stature 6967 will be cut 1438 down 1438 And those who 1364 are lofty 1364 will be abased 8213.

 10:34 He will cut 5362a down 5362a the thickets 5442 of the forest 3293a with an iron 1270 [axe], And Lebanon 3844 will fall 5307 by the Mighty 117 One 117.
