וַיֵּלֶךְ בְּדַרְכֵי מַלְכֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְגַם מַסֵּכוֹת עָשָׂה לַבְּעָלִים

וַיְזַבֵּחַ וַיְקַטֵּר בַּבָּמוֹת וְעַל־הַגְּבָעוֹת וְתַחַת כָּל־עֵץ רַעֲנָן

 28:6 ¶ For Pekaç פֶּקַח 6492 the son 1121 of Ræmalyà רְמַליָה 7425 slew 2026 z8799 in Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה 3063 an hundred 3967 and twenty 6242 thousand 505 in one 259 day, 3117 [which were] all x3605 valiant y2428 men; 1121 x2428 because they had forsaken 5800 z8800 x853 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 of their fathers. 1

וְעַתָּה בְּנֵי־יְהוּדָה וִירוּשָׁלִַם אַתֶּם אֹמְרִים לִכְבֹּשׁ לַעֲבָדִים וְלִשְׁפָחוֹת לָכֶם הֲלֹא רַק־אַתֶּם עִמָּכֶם אֲשָׁמוֹת לַיהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם

וְעַתָּה שְׁמָעוּנִי וְהָשִׁיבוּ הַשִּׁבְיָה אֲשֶׁר שְׁבִיתֶם מֵאֲחֵיכֶם כִּי חֲרוֹן אַף־יְהוָה עֲלֵיכֶם ס

וַיָּקֻמוּ אֲנָשִׁים מֵרָאשֵׁי בְנֵי־אֶפְרַיִם עֲזַרְיָהוּ בֶן־יְהוֹחָנָן בֶּרֶכְיָהוּ בֶן־מְשִׁלֵּמוֹת וִיחִזְקִיָּהוּ בֶּן־שַׁלֻּם וַעֲמָשָׂא בֶּן־חַדְלָי עַל־הַבָּאִים מִן־הַצָּבָא

 28:12 waYäqumû ánäshiym mëräshëy v'nëy-ef'rayim ázar'yähû ven-y'hôchänän Berekh'yähû ven-m'shiLëmôt wiychiz'qiYähû Ben-shaLum waámäsä Ben-chad'läy al-haBäiym min-haTZävä

 28:12 Then certain y582 x376 of the heads 7218 x4480 of the children 1121 of ´Efrayim אֶפרַיִם, 669 `Ázaryà עֲזַריָה 5838 the son 1121 of Yôçänän יוֹחָנָן, 3076 Bereȼyà בֶּרֶכיָה 1296 the son 1121 of Mæšillëmôŧ מְשִׁלֵּמוֹת, 4919 and Yæçizkiyyà יְחִזקִיָּה 3169 the son 1121 of Šallûm שַׁלּוּם, 7967 and `Ámäŝä´ עֲמָשָׂא 6021 the son 1121 of Çađläy חַדלָי, 2311 stood up 6965 z8799 against x5921 them that came 935 z8802 from x4480 the war, 6635

וְעוֹד אֲדוֹמִים בָּאוּ וַיַּכּוּ בִיהוּדָה וַיִּשְׁבּוּ־שֶׁבִי

 28:18 The Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים 6430 also had invaded 6584 z8804 the cities 5892 of the low country, 8219 and of the south 5045 of Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה, 3063 and had taken 3920 z8799 x853 Bêŧ Šemeš בֵּית־שֶׁמֶשׁ, 1053 and ´Ayyälôn אַיָּלוֹן, 357 and Gæđërôŧ גְּדֵרוֹת, 1450 and Ŝôȼô שׂוֹכוֹ 7755 with the villages 1323 thereof, and Timnà תִּמנָה 8553 with the villages 1323 thereof, Gimzô גִּמזוֹ 1579 also and the villages 1323 thereof: and they dwelt 3427 z8799 there. x8033

וַיָּבֹא עָלָיו תִּלְּגַת פִּלְנְאֶסֶר מֶלֶךְ אַשּׁוּר וַיָּצַר לוֹ וְלֹא חֲזָקוֹ

כִּי־חָלַק אָחָז אֶת־בֵּית יְהוָה וְאֶת־בֵּית הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהַשָּׂרִים וַיִּתֵּן לְמֶלֶךְ אַשּׁוּר וְלֹא לְעֶזְרָה לוֹ

 28:21 For x3588 ´Äçäz אָחָז 271 took away a portion 2505 z8804 [out] of x853 the house 1004 of Yähwè יָהוֶה, 3068 and [out] of the house 1004 of the king, 4428 and of the princes, 8269 and gave 5414 z8799 [it] unto the king 4428 of ´Aššûr אַשּׁוּר: 804 but he helped 5833 him not. x3808

וּבְעֵת הָצֵר לוֹ וַיּוֹסֶף לִמְעוֹל בַּיהוָה הוּא הַמֶּלֶךְ אָחָז

וַיִּזְבַּח לֵאלֹהֵי דַרְמֶשֶׂק הַמַּכִּים בּוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר כִּי אֱלֹהֵי מַלְכֵי־אֲרָם הֵם מַעְזְרִים אוֹתָם לָהֶם אֲזַבֵּחַ וְיַעְזְרוּנִי וְהֵם הָיוּ־לוֹ לְהַכְשִׁילוֹ וּלְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵל

 28:23 For he sacrificed 2076 z8799 unto the ´élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 of Dammäŝek דַּמָּשֶׂק, 1834 which smote 5221 z8688 him: and he said, 559 z8799 Because x3588 the ´élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 of the kings 4428 of ´Áräm אֲרָם 758 help 5826 z8688 them, [therefore] will I sacrifice 2076 z8762 to them, that they may help 5826 z8799 me. But they x1992 were x1961 the ruin 3782 z8687 of him, and of all x3605 Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל. 3478
