 14:1 ¶ So ´Áviyyà אֲבִיָּה 29 slept 7901 z8799 with x5973 his fathers, 1 and they buried 6912 z8799 him in the city 5892 of Däwiđ דָּוִד: 1732 and ´Äsä´ אָסָא 609 his son 1121 reigned 4427 z8799 in his stead. x8478 In his days 3117 the land 776 was quiet 8252 z8804 ten 6235 years. 8141

וַיַּעַשׂ אָסָא הַטּוֹב וְהַיָּשָׁר בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹהָיו

 14:2 And ´Äsä´ אָסָא 609 did 6213 z8799 [that which was] good 2896 and right 3477 in the eyes 5869 of Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 his ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים: 430

וַיָּסַר אֶת־מִזְבְּחוֹת הַנֵּכָר וְהַבָּמוֹת וַיְשַׁבֵּר אֶת־הַמַּצֵּבוֹת וַיְגַדַּע אֶת־הָאֲשֵׁרִים

וַיֹּאמֶר לִיהוּדָה לִדְרוֹשׁ אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵיהֶם וְלַעֲשׂוֹת הַתּוֹרָה וְהַמִּצְוָה

וַיִּבֶן עָרֵי מְצוּרָה בִּיהוּדָה כִּי־שָׁקְטָה הָאָרֶץ וְאֵין־עִמּוֹ מִלְחָמָה בַּשָּׁנִים הָאֵלֶּה כִּי־הֵנִיחַ יְהוָה לוֹ

 14:6 ¶ And he built 1129 z8799 fenced 4694 cities 5892 in Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה: 3063 for x3588 the land 776 had rest, 8252 z8804 and he had no x369 war 4421 in those x428 years; 8141 because x3588 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 had given him rest. 5117 z8689

 14:11 And ´Äsä´ אָסָא 609 cried 7121 z8799 unto x413 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 his ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים, 430 and said, 559 z8799 Yähwè יָהוֶה, 3068 [it is] nothing x369 with x5973 thee to help, 5826 z8800 whether 996 with many, 7227 or with them that have no x369 power: 3581 help 5826 z8798 us, O Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 our ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים; 430 for x3588 we rest 8172 z8738 on x5921 thee, and in thy name 8034 we go 935 z8804 against x5921 this x2088 multitude. 1995 O Yähwè יָהוֶה, 3068 thou x859 [art] our ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים; 430 let not x408 man 582 prevail 6113 z8799 against x5973 thee.

וַיִּגֹּף יְהוָה אֶת־הַכּוּשִׁים לִפְנֵי אָסָא וְלִפְנֵי יְהוּדָה וַיָּנֻסוּ הַכּוּשִׁים

וַיִּרְדְּפֵם אָסָא וְהָעָם אֲשֶׁר־עִמּוֹ עַד־לִגְרָר וַיִּפֹּל מִכּוּשִׁים לְאֵין לָהֶם מִחְיָה כִּי־נִשְׁבְּרוּ לִפְנֵי־יְהוָה וְלִפְנֵי מַחֲנֵהוּ וַיִּשְׂאוּ שָׁלָל הַרְבֵּה מְאֹד

 14:13 And ´Äsä´ אָסָא 609 and the people 5971 that x834 [were] with x5973 him pursued 7291 z8799 them unto x5704 Gærär גְּרָר: 1642 and the Cûšîm כּוּשִׁים 3569 x4480 were overthrown, 5307 z8799 that they could not x369 recover 4241 themselves; for x3588 they were destroyed 7665 z8738 before 6440 Yähwè יָהוֶה, 3068 and before 6440 his host; 4264 and they carried away 5375 z8799 very 3966 much 7235 z8687 spoil. 7998

וַיַּכּוּ אֵת כָּל־הֶעָרִים סְבִיבוֹת גְּרָר כִּי־הָיָה פַחַד־יְהוָה עֲלֵיהֶם וַיָּבֹזּוּ אֶת־כָּל־הֶעָרִים כִּי־בִזָּה רַבָּה הָיְתָה בָהֶם

וְגַם־אָהֳלֵי מִקְנֶה הִכּוּ וַיִּשְׁבּוּ צֹאן לָרֹב וּגְמַלִּים וַיָּשֻׁבוּ יְרוּשָׁלִָם ס
