וַיְהִי כִּשְׁמֹעַ יָרָבְעָם בֶּן־נְבָט וְהוּא בְמִצְרַיִם אֲשֶׁר בָּרַח מִפְּנֵי שְׁלֹמֹה הַמֶּלֶךְ וַיָּשָׁב יָרָבְעָם מִמִּצְרָיִם

וַיִּשְׁלְחוּ וַיִּקְרְאוּ־לוֹ וַיָּבֹא יָרָבְעָם וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיְדַבְּרוּ אֶל־רְחַבְעָם לֵאמֹר

אָבִיךָ הִקְשָׁה אֶת־עֻלֵּנוּ וְעַתָּה הָקֵל מֵעֲבֹדַת אָבִיךָ הַקָּשָׁה וּמֵעֻלּוֹ הַכָּבֵד אֲשֶׁר־נָתַן עָלֵינוּ וְנַעַבְדֶךָּ

וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם עוֹד שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים וְשׁוּבוּ אֵלָי וַיֵּלֶךְ הָעָם ס

וַיִּוָּעַץ הַמֶּלֶךְ רְחַבְעָם אֶת־הַזְּקֵנִים אֲשֶׁר־הָיוּ עֹמְדִים לִפְנֵי שְׁלֹמֹה אָבִיו בִּהְיֹתוֹ חַי לֵאמֹר אֵיךְ אַתֶּם נוֹעָצִים לְהָשִׁיב לָעָם־הַזֶּה דָּבָר

 10:6 ¶ And king 4428 Ræçav`äm רְחַבעָם 7346 took counsel 3289 z8735 with x854 the old y2205 men x2205 that x834 had x1961 stood 5975 z8802 before 6440 Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹה 8010 his father 1 while he yet lived, 2416 x1961 saying, 559 z8800 What 349 counsel give 3289 z8737 ye x859 [me] to return 7725 z8687 answer 1697 to this x2088 people? 5971

וַיְדַבְּרוּ אֵלָיו לֵאמֹר אִם־תִּהְיֶה לְטוֹב לְהָעָם הַזֶּה וּרְצִיתָם וְדִבַּרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם דְּבָרִים טוֹבִים וְהָיוּ לְךָ עֲבָדִים כָּל־הַיָּמִים

וַיַּעֲזֹב אֶת־עֲצַת הַזְּקֵנִים אֲשֶׁר יְעָצֻהוּ וַיִּוָּעַץ אֶת־הַיְלָדִים אֲשֶׁר גָּדְלוּ אִתּוֹ הָעֹמְדִים לְפָנָיו

 10:8 waYaázov et-átzat haZ'qëniym ásher y'ätzuhû waYiûäatz et-hay'lädiym ásher Gäd'lû iTô häom'diym l'fänäyw

וַיְדַבְּרוּ אִתּוֹ הַיְלָדִים אֲשֶׁר גָּדְלוּ אִתּוֹ לֵאמֹר כֹּה־תֹאמַר לָעָם אֲשֶׁר־דִּבְּרוּ אֵלֶיךָ לֵאמֹר אָבִיךָ הִכְבִּיד אֶת־עֻלֵּנוּ וְאַתָּה הָקֵל מֵעָלֵינוּ כֹּה תֹּאמַר אֲלֵהֶם קָטָנִּי עָבָה מִמָּתְנֵי אָבִי

וְעַתָּה אָבִי הֶעְמִיס עֲלֵיכֶם עֹל כָּבֵד וַאֲנִי אֹסִיף עַל־עֻלְּכֶם אָבִי יִסַּר אֶתְכֶם בַּשּׁוֹטִים וַאֲנִי בָּעֲקְרַבִּים ס

 10:11 w'aTäh äviy he'miyš álëykhem ol Kävëd waániy ošiyf al-uL'khem äviy yiŠar et'khem BaSHôţiym waániy Bäáq'raBiym š

 10:11 For whereas 6258 my father 1 put 6006 z8689 a heavy 3515 yoke 5923 upon x5921 you, I x589 will put more 3254 z8686 to x5921 your yoke: 5923 my father 1 chastised 3256 z8765 you with whips, 7752 but I x589 [will chastise you] with scorpions. 6137

וַיָּבֹא יָרָבְעָם וְכָל־הָעָם אֶל־רְחַבְעָם בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁלִשִׁי כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר הַמֶּלֶךְ לֵאמֹר שׁוּבוּ אֵלַי בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁלִשִׁי

 10:12 So Yorov`äm יָרָבעָם 3379 and all x3605 the people 5971 came 935 z8799 to x413 Ræçav`äm רְחַבעָם 7346 on the third 7992 day, 3117 as x834 the king 4428 bade, 1696 z8765 saying, 559 z8800 Come again 7725 z8798 to x413 me on the third 7992 day. 3117

וַיַּעֲנֵם הַמֶּלֶךְ קָשָׁה וַיַּעֲזֹב הַמֶּלֶךְ רְחַבְעָם אֵת עֲצַת הַזְּקֵנִים

 10:13 And the king 4428 answered 6030 z8799 them roughly; 7186 and king 4428 Ræçav`äm רְחַבעָם 7346 forsook 5800 z8799 x853 the counsel 6098 of the old men, 2205

וַיְדַבֵּר אֲלֵהֶם כַּעֲצַת הַיְלָדִים לֵאמֹר אַכְבִּיד אֶת־עֻלְּכֶם וַאֲנִי אֹסִיף עָלָיו אָבִי יִסַּר אֶתְכֶם בַּשּׁוֹטִים וַאֲנִי בָּעֲקְרַבִּים

וְלֹא־שָׁמַע הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל־הָעָם כִּי־הָיְתָה נְסִבָּה מֵעִם הָאֱלֹהִים לְמַעַן הָקִים יְהוָה אֶת־דְּבָרוֹ אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר בְּיַד אֲחִיָּהוּ הַשִּׁלוֹנִי אֶל־יָרָבְעָם בֶּן־נְבָט

 10:15 So the king 4428 hearkened 8085 z8804 not x3808 unto x413 the people: 5971 for x3588 the cause 5252 was x1961 of x4480 x5973 ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים, 430 that x4616 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 might perform 6965 z8687 x853 his word, 1697 which x834 he spake 1696 z8765 by the hand 3027 of ´Áçiyyà אֲחִיָּה 281 the Šîlônî שִׁילוֹנִי 7888 to x413 Yorov`äm יָרָבעָם 3379 the son 1121 of Næväţ נְבָט. 5028

וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵל כִּי לֹא־שָׁמַע הַמֶּלֶךְ לָהֶם וַיָּשִׁיבוּ הָעָם אֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְ לֵאמֹר מַה־לָּנוּ חֵלֶק בְּדָוִיד וְלֹא־נַחֲלָה בְּבֶן־יִשַׁי אִישׁ לְאֹהָלֶיךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל עַתָּה רְאֵה בֵיתְךָ דָּוִיד וַיֵּלֶךְ כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵל לְאֹהָלָיו ס

 10:16 w'khäl-yis'räël Kiy lo-shäma haMelekh' lähem waYäshiyvû hääm et-haMelekh' lëmor mah-Länû chëleq B'däwiyd w'lo-nacháläh B'ven-yishay iysh l'ohäleykhä yis'räël aTäh r'ëh vëyt'khä Däwiyd waYëlekh' Käl-yis'räël l'ohäläyw š

 10:16 ¶ And when all x3605 Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 [saw] y7200 z8804 that x3588 the king 4428 would not x3808 hearken 8085 z8804 unto them, the people 5971 answered 7725 z8686 x853 the king, 4428 saying, 559 z8800 What x4100 portion 2506 have we in Däwiđ דָּוִד? 1732 and [we have] none x3808 inheritance 5159 in the son 1121 of Yišay יִשַׁי: 3448 every man 376 to your tents, 168 O Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל: 3478 [and] now, x6258 Däwiđ דָּוִד, 1732 see 7200 z8798 to thine own house. 1004 So all x3605 Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 went y3212 z8799 x1980 to their tents. 168

וּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הַיֹּשְׁבִים בְּעָרֵי יְהוּדָה וַיִּמְלֹךְ עֲלֵיהֶם רְחַבְעָם

 10:17 But [as for] the children 1121 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 that dwelt 3427 z8802 in the cities 5892 of Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה, 3063 Ræçav`äm רְחַבעָם 7346 reigned 4427 z8799 over x5921 them.

וַיִּשְׁלַח הַמֶּלֶךְ רְחַבְעָם אֶת־הֲדֹרָם אֲשֶׁר עַל־הַמַּס וַיִּרְגְּמוּ־בוֹ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶבֶן וַיָּמֹת וְהַמֶּלֶךְ רְחַבְעָם הִתְאַמֵּץ לַעֲלוֹת בַּמֶּרְכָּבָה לָנוּס יְרוּשָׁלִָם ס

 10:18 waYish'lach haMelekh' r'chav'äm et-hádoräm ásher al-haMaš waYir'G'mû-vô v'nëy-yis'räël even waYämot w'haMelekh' r'chav'äm hit'aMëtz laálôt BaMer'Käväh länûš y'rûshäläim š

 10:18 Then king 4428 Ræçav`äm רְחַבעָם 7346 sent 7971 z8799 x853 Háđôräm הֲדוֹרָם 1913 that x834 [was] over x5921 the tribute; 4522 and the children 1121 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 stoned 7275 z8799 him with stones, 68 that he died. 4191 z8799 But king 4428 Ræçav`äm רְחַבעָם 7346 made speed 553 z8694 to get him up 5927 z8800 to [his] chariot, 4818 to flee 5127 z8800 to Yærûšälaim יְרוּשָׁלִַם. 3389
