Genesis 22

1 Abraham is tempted to offer Isaac. 3 He giveth proof of his faith and obedience. 11 The angel stayeth him. 13 Isaac is exchanged with a ram. 14 The place is called JEHOVAH-jireh. 15 Abraham is blessed again. 20 The generation of Nahor unto Rebekah.

 22:1 Now it came 1961 about after 310 these 428 things 1697, that God 430 tested 5254 Abraham 85, and said 559 to him, “Abraham 85!” And he said 559, “Here 2009 I am.”

 22:2 He said 559, “Take 3947 now 4994 your son 1121, your only 3173 son, whom 834 you love 157, Isaac 3327, and go 1980 to the land 776 of Moriah 4179, and offer 5927 him there 8033 as a burnt 5930a offering 5930a on one 259 of the mountains 2022 of which 834 I will tell 559 you.”

 22:3 So Abraham 85 rose 7925 early 7925 in the morning 1242 and saddled 2280 his donkey 2543, and took 3947 two 8147 of his young 5288 men 5288 with him and Isaac 3327 his son 1121; and he split 1234 wood 6086 for the burnt 5930a offering 5930a, and arose 6965 and went 1980 to the place 4725 of which 834 God 430 had told 559 him.

 22:4 On the third 7992 day 3117 Abraham 85 raised 5375 his eyes 5869 and saw 7200 the place 4725 from a distance 7350.

 22:5 Abraham 85 said 559 to his young 5288 men 5288, “Stay 3427 here 6311 with the donkey 2543, and I and the lad 5288 will go 1980 over 5704 3541 there 5704 3541; and we will worship 7812 and return 7725 to you.”

 22:6 Abraham 85 took 3947 the wood 6086 of the burnt 5930a offering 5930a and laid 7760 it on Isaac 3327 his son 1121, and he took 3947 in his hand 3027 the fire 784 and the knife 3979. So the two 8147 of them walked 1980 on together 3164a.

 22:7 Isaac 3327 spoke 559 to Abraham 85 his father 1 and said 559, “My father 1!” And he said 559, “Here 2009 I am, my son 1121.” And he said 559, “Behold 2009, the fire 784 and the wood 6086, but where 346 is the lamb 7716 for the burnt 5930a offering 5930a?”

 22:8 Abraham 85 said 559, “God 430 will provide 7200 for Himself the lamb 7716 for the burnt 5930a offering 5930a, my son 1121.” So the two 8147 of them walked 1980 on together 3164a.

 22:9 ¶ Then they came 935 to the place 4725 of which 834 God 430 had told 559 him; and Abraham 85 built 1129 the altar 4196 there 8033 and arranged 6186a the wood 6086, and bound 6123 his son 1121 Isaac 3327 and laid 7760 him on the altar 4196, on top 4605 of the wood 6086.

 22:10 Abraham 85 stretched 7971 out his hand 3027 and took 3947 the knife 3979 to slay 7819 his son 1121.

 22:11 But the angel 4397 of the LORD 3068 called 7121 to him from heaven 8064 and said 559, “Abraham 85, Abraham 85!” And he said 559, “Here 2009 I am.”

 22:12 He said 559, “Do not stretch 7971 out your hand 3027 against 413 the lad 5288, and do 6213a nothing 408 3972 to him; for now 6258 I know 3045 that you fear 3372a God 430, since you have not withheld 2820 your son 1121, your only 3173 son, from Me.”

 22:13 Then Abraham 85 raised 5375 his eyes 5869 and looked 7200, and behold 2009, behind 310 [him] a ram 352a caught 270 in the thicket 5442 by his horns 7161; and Abraham 85 went 1980 and took 3947 the ram 352a and offered 5927 him up for a burnt 5930a offering 5930a in the place 8478 of his son 1121.

 22:14 Abraham 85 called 7121 the name 8034 of that place 4725 The LORD 3068 Will Provide 7200, as it is said 559 to this day 3117, “In the mount 2022 of the LORD 3068 it will be provided 7200.”

 22:15 ¶ Then the angel 4397 of the LORD 3068 called 7121 to Abraham 85 a second 8145 time 8145 from heaven 8064,

 22:16 and said 559, “By Myself I have sworn 7650, declares 5002 the LORD 3068, because 3588 3282 you have done 6213a this 2088 thing 1697 and have not withheld 2820 your son 1121, your only 3173 son,

 22:17 indeed 3588 I will greatly 1288 bless 1288 you, and I will greatly 7235a multiply 7235a your seed 2233 as the stars 3556 of the heavens 8064 and as the sand 2344 which 834 is on the seashore 3220 8193; and your seed 2233 shall possess 3423 the gate 8179 of their enemies 340.

 22:18 “In your seed 2233 all 3605 the nations 1471 of the earth 776 shall be blessed 1288, because 6118 834 you have obeyed 8085 My voice 6963.”

 22:19 So Abraham 85 returned 7725 to his young 5288 men 5288, and they arose 6965 and went 1980 together 3164a to Beersheba 884; and Abraham 85 lived 3427 at Beersheba 884.

 22:20 ¶ Now it came 1961 about after 310 these 428 things 1697, that it was told 5046 Abraham 85, saying 559, “Behold 2009, Milcah 4435 also 1571 has borne 3205 children 1121 to your brother 251 Nahor 5152:

 22:21 Uz 5780 his firstborn 1060 and Buz 938 his brother 251 and Kemuel 7055 the father 1 of Aram 758

 22:22 and Chesed 3777 and Hazo 2375 and Pildash 6394 and Jidlaph 3044 and Bethuel 1328a.”

 22:23 Bethuel 1328a became 3205 the father 3205 of Rebekah 7259; these 428 eight 8083 Milcah 4435 bore 3205 to Nahor 5152, Abraham’s 85 brother 251.

 22:24 His concubine 6370, whose name 8034 was Reumah 7208, also 1571 bore 3205 Tebah 2875 and Gaham 1514 and Tahash 8477 and Maacah 4601.
