Genesis 2

1 The first Sabbath. 4 The manner of the creation. 8 The planting of the Garden of Eden, 10 and the river thereof. 16 The tree of knowledge only forbidden. 19, 20 The naming of the creatures. 21 The making of woman, and the institution of marriage.

 2:1 Thus the heavens 8064 and the earth 776 were completed 3615, and all 3605 their hosts 6635.

 2:2 By the seventh 7637 day 3117 God 430 completed 3615 His work 4399 which 834 He had done 6213a, and He rested 7673a on the seventh 7637 day 3117 from all 3605 His work 4399 which 834 He had done 6213a.

 2:3 Then God 430 blessed 1288 the seventh 7637 day 3117 and sanctified 6942 it, because 3588 in it He rested 7673a from all 3605 His work 4399 which 834 God 430 had created 1254a and made 6213a.

 2:4 ¶ This 428 is the account 8435 of the heavens 8064 and the earth 776 when they were created 1254a, in the day 3117 that the LORD 3068 God 430 made 6213a earth 776 and heaven 8064.

 2:5 Now no 2962 3605 shrub 7880 of the field 7704 was yet 2962 in the earth 776, and no 2962 3605 plant 6212a of the field 7704 had yet 2962 sprouted 6779, for the LORD 3068 God 430 had not sent 4305 rain 4305 upon the earth 776, and there was no 369 man 120 to cultivate 5647 the ground 127.

 2:6 But a mist 108 used to rise 5927 from the earth 776 and water 8248 the whole 3605 surface 6440 of the ground 127.

 2:7 Then the LORD 3068 God 430 formed 3335 man 120 of dust 6083 from the ground 127, and breathed 5301 into his nostrils 639 the breath 5397 of life 2425b; and man 120 became 1961 a living 2416a being 5315.

 2:8 The LORD 3068 God 430 planted 5193 a garden 1588 toward 4480 the east 6924a, in Eden 5731; and there 8033 He placed 7760 the man 120 whom 834 He had formed 3335.

 2:9 Out of the ground 127 the LORD 3068 God 430 caused to grow 6779 every 3605 tree 6086 that is pleasing 2530 to the sight 4758 and good 2896a for food 3978; the tree 6086 of life 2425b also in the midst 8432 of the garden 1588, and the tree 6086 of the knowledge 1847 of good 2896b and evil 7451b.

 2:10 ¶ Now a river 5104 flowed 3318 out of Eden 5731 to water 8248 the garden 1588; and from there 8033 it divided 6504 and became 1961 four 702 rivers 7218.

 2:11 The name 8034 of the first 259 is Pishon 6376; it flows 5437 around 5437 the whole 3605 land 776 of Havilah 2341, where 834 8033 there 8033 is gold 2091.

 2:12 The gold 2091 of that land 776 is good 2896a; the bdellium 916 and the onyx 7718 stone 68 are there 8033.

 2:13 The name 8034 of the second 8145 river 5104 is Gihon 1521; it flows 5437 around 5437 the whole 3605 land 776 of Cush 3568a.

 2:14 The name 8034 of the third 7992 river 5104 is Tigris 2313; it flows 1980 east 6926 of Assyria 804b. And the fourth 7243 river 5104 is the Euphrates 6578.

 2:15 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 God 430 took 3947 the man 120 and put 5117 him into the garden 1588 of Eden 5731 to cultivate 5647 it and keep 8104 it.

 2:16 The LORD 3068 God 430 commanded 6680 the man 120, saying 559, “From any 3605 tree 6086 of the garden 1588 you may eat 398 freely 398;

 2:17 but from the tree 6086 of the knowledge 1847 of good 2896b and evil 7451b you shall not eat 398, for in the day 3117 that you eat 398 from it you will surely 4191 die 4191.”

 2:18 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 God 430 said 559, “It is not good 2896a for the man 120 to be alone 905; I will make 6213a him a helper 5828 suitable 5048 for him.”

 2:19 Out of the ground 127 the LORD 3068 God 430 formed 3335 every 3605 beast 2421b of the field 7704 and every 3605 bird 5775 of the sky 8064, and brought 935 [them] to the man 120 to see 7200 what 4100 he would call 7121 them; and whatever 3605 834 the man 120 called 7121 a living 2416a creature 5315, that was its name 8034.

 2:20 The man 120 gave 7121 names 8034 to all 3605 the cattle 929, and to the birds 5775 of the sky 8064, and to every 3605 beast 2421b of the field 7704, but for Adam 121 there was not found 4672 a helper 5828 suitable 5048 for him.

 2:21 So the LORD 3068 God 430 caused a deep 8639 sleep 8639 to fall 5307 upon the man 120, and he slept 3462; then He took 3947 one 259 of his ribs 6763 and closed 5462 up the flesh 1320 at that place 8478.

 2:22 The LORD 3068 God 430 fashioned 1129 into a woman 802 the rib 6763 which 834 He had taken 3947 from the man 120, and brought 935 her to the man 120.

 2:23 The man 120 said 559, “This 2088 is now 6471 bone 6106 of my bones 6106, And flesh 1320 of my flesh 1320; She shall be called 7121 Woman 802, Because 3588 she was taken 3947 out of Man 376.”

 2:24 For this 3651 reason 5921 3651 a man 376 shall leave 5800a his father 1 and his mother 517, and be joined 1692 to his wife 802; and they shall become 1961 one 259 flesh 1320.

 2:25 And the man 120 and his wife 802 were both 8147 naked 6174 and were not ashamed 954.
