Genesis 15

1 God encourageth Abram. 2 Abram complaineth for want of an heir. 4 God promiseth him a son, and a multiplying of his seed. 6 Abram is justified by faith. 7 Canaan is promised again, and confirmed by a sign, 12 and a vision.

 15:1 After 310 these 428 things 1697 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to Abram 87 in a vision 4236, saying 559, “Do not fear 3372a, Abram 87, I am a shield 4043 to you; Your reward 7939 shall be very 3966 great 7235a.”

 15:2 Abram 87 said 559, “O Lord 136 GOD 3068, what 4100 will You give 5414 me, since I am 1980 childless 6185, and the heir 1121 4943 of my house 1004 is Eliezer 461 of Damascus 1834?”

 15:3 And Abram 87 said 559, “Since 2005 You have given 5414 no 3808 offspring 2233 to me, one 1121 born 1121 in my house 1004 is my heir 3423.”

 15:4 Then behold 2009, the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came to him, saying 559, “This 2088 man will not be your heir 3423; but one who 834 will come 3318 forth 3318 from your own body 4578, he shall be your heir 3423.”

 15:5 And He took 3318 him outside 2351 and said 559, “Now 4994 look 5027 toward the heavens 8064, and count 5608 the stars 3556, if 518 you are able 3201 to count 5608 them.” And He said 559 to him, “So 3541 shall your descendants 2233 be.”

 15:6 Then he believed 539 in the LORD 3068; and He reckoned 2803 it to him as righteousness 6666.

 15:7 And He said 559 to him, “I am the LORD 3068 who 834 brought 3318 you out of Ur 218a of the Chaldeans 3778, to give 5414 you this 2088 land 776 to possess 3423 it.”

 15:8 He said 559, “O Lord 136 GOD 3068, how 4100 may I know 3045 that I will possess 3423 it?”

 15:9 So He said 559 to him, “Bring 3947 Me a three 8027 year 8027 old 8027 heifer 5697, and a three 8027 year 8027 old 8027 female 5795 goat 5795, and a three 8027 year 8027 old 8027 ram 352a, and a turtledove 8449, and a young 1469 pigeon 1469.”

 15:10 Then he brought 3947 all 3605 these 428 to Him and cut 1334 them in two 8432, and laid 5414 each 376 half 1335 opposite 7122 the other 7453; but he did not cut 1334 the birds 6833.

 15:11 The birds 5861 of prey 5861 came 3381 down 3381 upon the carcasses 6297, and Abram 87 drove 5380 them away 5380.

 15:12 ¶ Now when the sun 8121 was going 935 down, a deep 8639 sleep 8639 fell 5307 upon Abram 87; and behold 2009, terror 367 [and] great 1419 darkness 2825 fell 5307 upon him.

 15:13 [God] said 559 to Abram 87, “Know 3045 for certain 3045 that your descendants 2233 will be strangers 1616 in a land 776 that is not theirs 1992a, where they will be enslaved 5647 and oppressed 6031a four 702 hundred 3967 years 8141.

 15:14 “But I will also 1571 judge 1777 the nation 1471 whom 834 they will serve 5647, and afterward 310 3651 they will come 3318 out with many 1419 possessions 7399.

 15:15 “As for you, you shall go 935 to your fathers 1 in peace 7965; you will be buried 6912 at a good 2896a old 7872 age 7872.

 15:16 “Then in the fourth 7243 generation 1755 they will return 7725 here 2008, for the iniquity 5771 of the Amorite 567 is not yet 5704 2008 complete 8003.”

 15:17 ¶ It came 1961 about when the sun 8121 had set 935, that it was very 5939 dark 5939, and behold 2009, [there appeared] a smoking 6227 oven 8574 and a flaming 784 torch 3940 which 834 passed 5674a between 996 these 428 pieces 1506.

 15:18 On that day 3117 the LORD 3068 made 3772 a covenant 1285 with Abram 87, saying 559, “To your descendants 2233 I have given 5414 this 2088 land 776, From the river 5104 of Egypt 4714 as far 5704 as the great 1419 river 5104, the river 5104 Euphrates 6578:

 15:19 the Kenite 7017 and the Kenizzite 7074 and the Kadmonite 6935

 15:20 and the Hittite 2850 and the Perizzite 6522 and the Rephaim 7497

 15:21 and the Amorite 567 and the Canaanite 3669a and the Girgashite 1622 and the Jebusite 2983.”
