Genesis 4

1 The birth, trade, and religion of Cain and Abel. 8 The murder of Abel. 11 The curse of Cain. 17 Enoch the first city. 19 Lamech and his two wives. 25 The birth of Seth, 26 and Enos.

 4:1 Now the man 120 had 3045 relations 3045 with his wife 802 Eve 2332, and she conceived 2029 and gave 3205 birth 3205 to Cain 7014b, and she said 559, “I have gotten 7069 a manchild 376 with [the help of] the LORD 3068.”

 4:2 Again 3254, she gave 3205 birth 3205 to his brother 251 Abel 1893. And Abel 1893 was a keeper 7462a of flocks 6629, but Cain 7014b was a tiller 5647 of the ground 127.

 4:3 So it came 1961 about in the course 4480 7093 of time 3117 that Cain 7014b brought 935 an offering 4503 to the LORD 3068 of the fruit 6529 of the ground 127.

 4:4 Abel 1893, on his part 1571 also 1571 brought 935 of the firstlings 1060 of his flock 6629 and of their fat 2459 portions 2459. And the LORD 3068 had 8159 regard 8159 for Abel 1893 and for his offering 4503;

 4:5 but for Cain 7014b and for his offering 4503 He had 8159 no 3808 regard 8159. So Cain 7014b became 2734 very 3966 angry 2734 and his countenance 6440 fell 5307.

 4:6 Then the LORD 3068 said 559 to Cain 7014b, “Why 4100 are you angry 2734? And why 4100 has your countenance 6440 fallen 5307?

 4:7 “If 518 you do 3190 well 3190, will not [your countenance] be lifted 7613 up? And if 518 you do not do 3190 well 3190, sin 2403b is crouching 7257 at the door 6607; and its desire 8669 is for you, but you must master 4910 it.”

 4:8 Cain 7014b told 559 Abel 1893 his brother 251. And it came 1961 about when they were in the field 7704, that Cain 7014b rose 6965 up against 413 Abel 1893 his brother 251 and killed 2026 him.

 4:9 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 said 559 to Cain 7014b, “Where 335 is Abel 1893 your brother 251?” And he said 559, “I do not know 3045. Am I my brother’s 251 keeper 8104?”

 4:10 He said 559, “What 4100 have you done 6213a? The voice 6963 of your brother’s 251 blood 1818 is crying 6817 to Me from the ground 127.

 4:11 “Now 6258 you are cursed 779 from the ground 127, which 834 has opened 6475 its mouth 6310 to receive 3947 your brother’s 251 blood 1818 from your hand 3027.

 4:12 “When 3588 you cultivate 5647 the ground 127, it will no 3808 longer 3254 yield 5414 its strength 3581b to you; you will be a vagrant 5128 and a wanderer 5110 on the earth 776.”

 4:13 Cain 7014b said 559 to the LORD 3068, “My punishment 5771 is too 4480 great 1419 to bear 5375!

 4:14 “Behold 2005, You have driven 1644 me this day 3117 from the face 6440 of the ground 127; and from Your face 6440 I will be hidden 5641, and I will be a vagrant 5128 and a wanderer 5110 on the earth 776, and whoever 3605 finds 4672 me will kill 2026 me.”

 4:15 So the LORD 3068 said 559 to him, “Therefore 3651 whoever 3605 kills 2026 Cain 7014b, vengeance 5358 will be taken 5358 on him sevenfold 7659.” And the LORD 3068 appointed 7760 a sign 226 for Cain 7014b, so that no 3605 one 3605 finding 4672 him would slay 5221 him.

 4:16 ¶ Then Cain 7014b went 3318 out from the presence 6440 of the LORD 3068, and settled 3427 in the land 776 of Nod 5113, east 6926 of Eden 5731.

 4:17 ¶ Cain 7014b had 3045 relations 3045 with his wife 802 and she conceived 2029, and gave 3205 birth 3205 to Enoch 2585; and he built 1129 a city 5892b, and called 7121 the name 8034 of the city 5892b Enoch 2585, after the name 8034 of his son 1121.

 4:18 Now to Enoch 2585 was born 3205 Irad 5897, and Irad 5897 became 3205 the father 3205 of Mehujael 4232, and Mehujael 4232 became 3205 the father 3205 of Methushael 4967, and Methushael 4967 became 3205 the father 3205 of Lamech 3929.

 4:19 Lamech 3929 took 3947 to himself two 8147 wives 802: the name 8034 of the one 259 was Adah 5711, and the name 8034 of the other 8145, Zillah 6741.

 4:20 Adah 5711 gave 3205 birth 3205 to Jabal 2989; he was the father 1 of those who dwell 3427 in tents 168 and [have] livestock 4735.

 4:21 His brother’s 251 name 8034 was Jubal 3106; he was the father 1 of all 3605 those who play 8610 the lyre 3658 and pipe 5748.

 4:22 As for Zillah 6741, she also 1571 gave 3205 birth 3205 to Tubal-cain 8423, the forger 3913 of all 3605 implements 2790a of bronze 5178 and iron 1270; and the sister 269 of Tubal-cain 8423 was Naamah 5279a.

 4:23 ¶ Lamech 3929 said 559 to his wives 802, “Adah 5711 and Zillah 6741, Listen 8085 to my voice 6963, You wives 802 of Lamech 3929, Give 238 heed 238 to my speech 565a, For I have killed 2026 a man 376 for wounding 6482 me; And a boy 3206 for striking 2250 me;

 4:24 If 3588 Cain 7014b is avenged 5358 sevenfold 7659, Then Lamech 3929 seventy-sevenfold 7657.”

 4:25 ¶ Adam 121 had 3045 relations 3045 with his wife 802 again 5750; and she gave 3205 birth 3205 to a son 1121, and named 7121 8034 him Seth 8352, for, [she said], “God 430 has appointed 7896 me another 312 offspring 2233 in place 8478 of Abel 1893, for Cain 7014b killed 2026 him.”

 4:26 To Seth 8352, to him also 1571 a son 1121 was born 3205; and he called 7121 his name 8034 Enosh 583. Then 227 [men] began 2490c to call 7121 upon the name 8034 of the LORD 3068.
