Genesis 25

1 The sons of Abraham by Keturah. 5 The division of his goods. 7 His age, and death. 9 His burial. 12 The generations of Ishmael. 17 His age, and death. 21 Isaac prayeth for Rebekah, being barren. 22 The children strive within her womb. 24 The birth of Esau and Jacob. 27 Their difference. 29 Esau selleth his birthright.

 25:1 Now Abraham 85 took 3947 another 3254 wife 802, whose name 8034 was Keturah 6989.

 25:2 She bore 3205 to him Zimran 2175 and Jokshan 3370 and Medan 4091 and Midian 4080 and Ishbak 3435 and Shuah 7774.

 25:3 Jokshan 3370 became 3205 the father 3205 of Sheba 7614 and Dedan 1719. And the sons 1121 of Dedan 1719 were Asshurim 805b and Letushim 3912 and Leummim 3817.

 25:4 The sons 1121 of Midian 4080 [were] Ephah 5891 and Epher 6081 and Hanoch 2585 and Abida 28 and Eldaah 420. All 3605 these 428 [were] the sons 1121 of Keturah 6989.

 25:5 Now Abraham 85 gave 5414 all 3605 that he had to Isaac 3327;

 25:6 but to the sons 1121 of his concubines 6370, Abraham 85 gave 5414 gifts 4979 while he was still 5750 living 2416a, and sent 7971 them away 7971 from his son 1121 Isaac 3327 eastward 6924b, to the land 776 of the east 6924a.

 25:7 ¶ These 428 are all 3117 the years 8141 of Abraham’s 85 life 2425b that he lived 2421a, one hundred 3967 and seventy-five 7657 years 8141.

 25:8 Abraham 85 breathed 1478 his last 1478 and died 4191 in a ripe 2896a old 7872 age 7872, an old 2205 man 2205 and satisfied 7649 [with life]; and he was gathered 622 to his people 5971b.

 25:9 Then his sons 1121 Isaac 3327 and Ishmael 3458 buried 6912 him in the cave 4631 of Machpelah 4375, in the field 7704 of Ephron 6085 the son 1121 of Zohar 6714 the Hittite 2850, facing 5921 6440 Mamre 4471,

 25:10 the field 7704 which 834 Abraham 85 purchased 7069 from the sons 1121 of Heth 2845; there 8033 Abraham 85 was buried 6912 with Sarah 8283 his wife 802.

 25:11 It came 1961 about after 310 the death 4194 of Abraham 85, that God 430 blessed 1288 his son 1121 Isaac 3327; and Isaac 3327 lived 3427 by Beer-lahai-roi 883.

 25:12 ¶ Now these 428 are [the records of] the generations 8435 of Ishmael 3458, Abraham’s 85 son 1121, whom 834 Hagar 1904 the Egyptian 4713, Sarah’s 8283 maid 8198, bore 3205 to Abraham 85;

 25:13 and these 428 are the names 8034 of the sons 1121 of Ishmael 3458, by their names 8034, in the order 8435 of their birth 8435: Nebaioth 5032, the firstborn 1060 of Ishmael 3458, and Kedar 6938 and Adbeel 110 and Mibsam 4017

 25:14 and Mishma 4927 and Dumah 1746 and Massa 4854,

 25:15 Hadad 2301 and Tema 8485, Jetur 3195, Naphish 5305 and Kedemah 6929.

 25:16 These 428 are the sons 1121 of Ishmael 3458 and these 428 are their names 8034, by their villages 2691b, and by their camps 2918; twelve 8147 6240 princes 5387a according to their tribes 523.

 25:17 These 428 are the years 8141 of the life 2425b of Ishmael 3458, one hundred 3967 and thirty-seven 7970 7651 years 8141; and he breathed 1478 his last 1478 and died 4191, and was gathered 622 to his people 5971b.

 25:18 They settled 7931 from Havilah 2341 to Shur 7793 which 834 is east 5921 6440 of Egypt 4714 as one goes 935 toward Assyria 804b; he settled 5307 in defiance 5921 6440 of all 3605 his relatives 251.

 25:19 ¶ Now these 428 are [the records of] the generations 8435 of Isaac 3327, Abraham’s 85 son 1121: Abraham 85 became 3205 the father 3205 of Isaac 3327;

 25:20 and Isaac 3327 was forty 705 years 8141 old 1121 when he took 3947 Rebekah 7259, the daughter 1323 of Bethuel 1328a the Aramean 761 of Paddan-aram 6307, the sister 269 of Laban 3837a the Aramean 761, to be his wife 802.

 25:21 Isaac 3327 prayed 6279 to the LORD 3068 on behalf 5227 of his wife 802, because 3588 she was barren 6135; and the LORD 3068 answered 6279 him and Rebekah 7259 his wife 802 conceived 2029.

 25:22 But the children 1121 struggled 7533 together within 7130 her; and she said 559, “If 518 it is so 3651, why 4100 then am I [this way]?” So she went 1980 to inquire 1875 of the LORD 3068.

 25:23 The LORD 3068 said 559 to her, “Two 8147 nations 1471 are in your womb 990; And two 8147 peoples 3816 will be separated 6504 from your body 4578; And one people 3816 shall be stronger 553 than 4480 the other 3816; And the older 7227a shall serve 5647 the younger 6810.”

 25:24 When her days 3117 to be delivered 3205 were fulfilled 4390, behold 2009, there were twins 8420b in her womb 990.

 25:25 Now the first 7223 came 3318 forth 3318 red 132, all 3605 over like a hairy 8181 garment 155; and they named 7121 8034 him Esau 6215.

 25:26 Afterward 310 his brother 251 came 3318 forth 3318 with his hand 3027 holding 270 on to Esau’s 6215 heel 6119, so his name 8034 was called 7121 Jacob 3290; and Isaac 3327 was sixty 8346 years 8141 old 1121 when she gave 3205 birth 3205 to them.

 25:27 ¶ When the boys 5288 grew 1431 up, Esau 6215 became 1961 a skillful 3045 hunter 376 6718a, a man 376 of the field 7704, but Jacob 3290 was a peaceful 8535 man 376, living 3427 in tents 168.

 25:28 Now Isaac 3327 loved 157 Esau 6215, because 3588 he had a taste 6310 for game 6718a, but Rebekah 7259 loved 157 Jacob 3290.

 25:29 When Jacob 3290 had cooked 2102 stew 5138, Esau 6215 came 935 in from the field 7704 and he was famished 5889;

 25:30 and Esau 6215 said 559 to Jacob 3290, “Please 4994 let me have 3938 a swallow 3938 of that red 122 stuff 123 there, for I am famished 5889.” Therefore 5921 3651 his name 8034 was called 7121 Edom 112b.

 25:31 But Jacob 3290 said 559, “First 3117 sell 4376 me your birthright 1062.”

 25:32 Esau 6215 said 559, “Behold 2009, I am 1980 about 1980 to die 4191; so of what 4100 [use] then is the birthright 1062 to me?”

 25:33 And Jacob 3290 said 559, “First 3117 swear 7650 to me”; so he swore 7650 to him, and sold 4376 his birthright 1062 to Jacob 3290.

 25:34 Then Jacob 3290 gave 5414 Esau 6215 bread 3899 and lentil 5742 stew 5138; and he ate 398 and drank 8354, and rose 6965 and went 1980 on his way 1980. Thus Esau 6215 despised 959 his birthright 1062.
