Genesis 9

1 God blesseth Noah. 4 Blood and murder are forbidden. 9 God's Covenant 13 signified by the rainbow. 18 Noah replenisheth the world, 20 planteth a vinyard, 21 is drunken, and mocked of his son, 25 curseth Canaan, 26 blesseth Shem, 27 prayeth for Japheth, 29 and dieth.

 9:1 And God 430 blessed 1288 Noah 5146 and his sons 1121 and said 559 to them, “Be fruitful 6509 and multiply 7235a, and fill 4390 the earth 776.

 9:2 “The fear 4172 of you and the terror 2844a of you will be on every 3605 beast 2421b of the earth 776 and on every 3605 bird 5775 of the sky 8064; with everything 3605 that creeps 7430 on the ground 127, and all 3605 the fish 1709 of the sea 3220, into your hand 3027 they are given 5414.

 9:3 “Every 3605 moving 7431 thing 7431 that is alive 2416a shall be food 402 for you; I give 5414 all 3605 to you, as [I gave] the green 3418 plant 6212a.

 9:4 “Only 389 you shall not eat 398 flesh 1320 with its life 5315, [that is], its blood 1818.

 9:5 “Surely 389 I will require 1875 your lifeblood 1818 5315; from every 3605 beast 2421b I will require 1875 it. And from [every] man 120, from every 376 man’s 376 brother 251 I will require 1875 the life 5315 of man 120.

 9:6 “Whoever sheds 8210 man’s 120 blood 1818, By man 120 his blood 1818 shall be shed 8210, For in the image 6754 of God 430 He made 6213a man 120.

 9:7 “As for you, be fruitful 6509 and multiply 7235a; Populate 8317 the earth 776 abundantly 8317 and multiply 7235a in it.”

 9:8 ¶ Then God 430 spoke 559 to Noah 5146 and to his sons 1121 with him, saying 559,

 9:9 “Now behold 2009, I Myself 589 do establish 6965 My covenant 1285 with you, and with your descendants 2233 after 310 you;

 9:10 and with every 3605 living 2416a creature 5315 that is with you, the birds 5775, the cattle 929, and every 3605 beast 2421b of the earth 776 with you; of all 3605 that comes 3318 out of the ark 8392, even every 3605 beast 2421b of the earth 776.

 9:11 “I establish 6965 My covenant 1285 with you; and all 3605 flesh 1320 shall never 3808 again 5750 be cut 3772 off 3772 by the water 4325 of the flood 3999, neither 3808 shall there again 5750 be a flood 3999 to destroy 7843 the earth 776.”

 9:12 God 430 said 559, “This 2088 is the sign 226 of the covenant 1285 which 834 I am making 5414 between 996 Me and you and every 3605 living 2416a creature 5315 that is with you, for all 5769 successive 5769 generations 1755;

 9:13 I set 5414 My bow 7198 in the cloud 6051, and it shall be for a sign 226 of a covenant 1285 between 996 Me and the earth 776.

 9:14 “It shall come 1961 about, when I bring 6049b a cloud 6051 over 5921 the earth 776, that the bow 7198 will be seen 7200 in the cloud 6051,

 9:15 and I will remember 2142 My covenant 1285, which 834 is between 996 Me and you and every 3605 living 2416a creature 5315 of all 3605 flesh 1320; and never 3808 again 5750 shall the water 4325 become 1961 a flood 3999 to destroy 7843 all 3605 flesh 1320.

 9:16 “When the bow 7198 is in the cloud 6051, then I will look 7200 upon it, to remember 2142 the everlasting 5769 covenant 1285 between 996 God 430 and every 3605 living 2416a creature 5315 of all 3605 flesh 1320 that is on the earth 776.”

 9:17 And God 430 said 559 to Noah 5146, “This 2088 is the sign 226 of the covenant 1285 which 834 I have established 6965 between 996 Me and all 3605 flesh 1320 that is on the earth 776.”

 9:18 ¶ Now the sons 1121 of Noah 5146 who came 3318 out of the ark 8392 were Shem 8035 and Ham 2526 and Japheth 3315; and Ham 2526 was the father 1 of Canaan 3667a.

 9:19 These 428 three 7969 [were] the sons 1121 of Noah 5146, and from these 428 the whole 3605 earth 776 was populated 5310b.

 9:20 ¶ Then Noah 5146 began 2490c farming 376 127 and planted 5193 a vineyard 3754.

 9:21 He drank 8354 of the wine 3196 and became 7937 drunk 7937, and uncovered 1540 himself inside 8432 his tent 168.

 9:22 Ham 2526, the father 1 of Canaan 3667a, saw 7200 the nakedness 6172 of his father 1, and told 5046 his two 8147 brothers 251 outside 2351.

 9:23 But Shem 8035 and Japheth 3315 took 3947 a garment 8071 and laid 7760 it upon both 8147 their shoulders 7926 and walked 1980 backward 322 and covered 3680 the nakedness 6172 of their father 1; and their faces 6440 were turned 322 away 322, so that they did not see 7200 their father’s 1 nakedness 6172.

 9:24 When Noah 5146 awoke 3364 from his wine 3196, he knew 3045 what 834 his youngest 6996a son 1121 had done 6213a to him.

 9:25 So he said 559, “Cursed 779 be Canaan 3667a; A servant 5650 of servants 5650 He shall be to his brothers 251.”

 9:26 He also said 559, “Blessed 1288 be the LORD 3068, The God 430 of Shem 8035; And let Canaan 3667a be his servant 5650.

 9:27 “May God 430 enlarge 6601a Japheth 3315, And let him dwell 7931 in the tents 168 of Shem 8035; And let Canaan 3667a be his servant 5650.”

 9:28 ¶ Noah 5146 lived 2421a three 7969 hundred 3967 and fifty 2572 years 8141 after 310 the flood 3999.

 9:29 So all 3605 the days 3117 of Noah 5146 were nine 8672 hundred 3967 and fifty 2572 years 8141, and he died 4191.
