7:1 ¶
And it came to pass°
in the days°
of
´Äçäz
אָחָז°
the son°
of
Yôŧäm
יוֹתָם,°
the son°
of
`Uzziyyà
עֻזִּיָּה,°
king°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
[that]
Ræxîn
רְצִין°
the king°
of
´Áräm
אֲרָם,°
and
Pekaç
פֶּקַח°
the son°
of
Ræmalyà
רְמַליָה,°
king°
of
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
went up°°
toward
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם°
to war°
against°
it, but could°°
not°
prevail°°
against°
it. |
|
7:1 ¶
And it came to pass in the days of Achaz the son of Yotham, the son of Uzziyyah, king of Yehudah, [that] Retzin the king of Aram, and Peqach the son of Remalyah, king of Yisrael, went up toward Yerushalaim to war against it, but could not prevail against it. |
7:2
And it was told°°
the house°
of
Däwiđ
דָּוִד,°
saying,°°
´Áräm
אֲרָם°
is confederate°°
with°
´Efrayim
אֶפרַיִם.°
And his heart°
was moved,°°
and the heart°
of his people,°
as the trees°
of the wood°
are moved°°
with°°
the wind.° |
|
7:2
And it was told the house of Dawid, saying, Aram is confederate with Efrayim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind. |
7:3
Then said°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
unto°
Yæša`yà
יְשַׁעיָה,°
Go forth°°
now°
to meet°°°
´Äçäz
אָחָז,°
thou,°
and
Šæ´är Yäšûv
שְׁאָר־יָשׁוּב°
thy son,°
at°
the end°
of the conduit°
of the upper°
pool°
in°
the highway°
of the fuller's°°
field;° |
|
7:3
Then said Yahweh unto Yeshayah, Go forth now to meet Achaz, thou, and Shear-Yashuv thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field; |
7:4
And say°°
unto°
him, Take heed,°°
and be quiet;°°
fear°°
not,°
neither°
be fainthearted°°°
for the two°°
tails°
of these°
smoking°
firebrands,°
for the fierce°
anger°
of
Ræxîn
רְצִין°
with
´Áräm
אֲרָם,°
and of the son°
of
Ræmalyà
רְמַליָה.° |
|
7:4
And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Retzin with Aram, and of the son of Remalyah. |
7:5
Because°°
´Áräm
אֲרָם,°
´Efrayim
אֶפרַיִם,°
and the son°
of
Ræmalyà
רְמַליָה,°
have taken evil°
counsel°°
against°
thee, saying,°° |
|
7:5
Because Aram, Efrayim, and the son of Remalyah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying, |
7:6
Let us go up°°
against
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
and vex°°°
it, and let us make a breach°°
therein for°
us, and set°°
a king°°
in the midst°
of it, [even]°
the son°
of
Ţäv´al
טָבאַל:° |
|
7:6
Let us go up against Yehudah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, [even] the son of Taval: |
7:7
Thus°
saith°°
´Áđönäy
אֲדֹנָי°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
It shall not°
stand,°°
neither°
shall it come to pass.° |
|
7:7
Thus saith Adonay Yahweh, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass. |
7:8
For°
the head°
of
´Áräm
אֲרָם°
[is]
Dammäŝek
דַּמָּשֶׂק,°
and the head°
of
Dammäŝek
דַּמָּשֶׂק°
[is]
Ræxîn
רְצִין;°
and within°
threescore°
and five°
years°
shall
´Efrayim
אֶפרַיִם°
be broken,°°°
that it be not a people.°° |
|
7:8
For the head of Aram [is] Dammaseq, and the head of Dammaseq [is] Retzin; and within threescore and five years shall Efrayim be broken, that it be not a people. |
7:9
And the head°
of
´Efrayim
אֶפרַיִם°
[is]
Šömrôn
שֹׁמרוֹן,°
and the head°
of
Šömrôn
שֹׁמרוֹן°
[is]
Ræmalyà's
רְמַליָה°
son.°
If°
ye will not°
believe,°°
surely°
ye shall not°
be established.°° |
|
7:9
And the head of Efrayim [is] Shomron, and the head of Shomron [is] Remalyah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established. |
7:10 ¶
Moreover
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
spake°°
again°°
unto°
´Äçäz
אָחָז,°
saying,°° |
|
7:10 ¶
Moreover Yahweh spake again unto Achaz, saying, |
7:11
Ask°°
thee a sign°
of°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
thy
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים;°
ask°°
it either in the depth,°°
or°
in the height°°
above.° |
|
7:11
Ask thee a sign of Yahweh thy Elohim; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. |
7:12
But
´Äçäz
אָחָז°
said,°°
I will not°
ask,°°
neither°
will I tempt°°°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |
|
7:12
But Achaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt Yahweh. |
7:13
And he said,°°
Hear°°
ye now,°
O house°
of
Däwiđ
דָּוִד;°
[Is it] a small thing°
for°
you to weary°°
men,°°
but°
will ye weary°°°
my
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
also?° |
|
7:13
And he said, Hear ye now, O house of Dawid; [Is it] a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my Elohim also? |
7:14
Therefore°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
himself°
shall give°°
you a sign;°
Behold,°
a virgin°
shall conceive,°°
and bear°°
a son,°
and shall call°°
his name°
`Immänû ´Ël
עִמָּנוּ־אֵל.°° |
|
7:14
Therefore Yahweh himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanu-El. |
7:15
Butter°
and honey°
shall he eat,°°
that he may know°°
to refuse°°
the evil,°
and choose°°
the good.° |
|
7:15
Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. |
7:16
For°
before°
the child°
shall know°°
to refuse°°
the evil,°
and choose°°
the good,°
the land°
that°
thou°
abhorrest°°
shall be°
forsaken°°
of both°
her kings.° |
|
7:16
For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings. |
7:17 ¶
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
shall bring°°
upon°
thee, and upon°
thy people,°
and upon°
thy father's°
house,°
days°
that°
have not°
come,°°
from the day°°
that
´Efrayim
אֶפרַיִם°
departed°°
from°°
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה;°
[even]°
the king°
of
´Aššûr
אַשּׁוּר.° |
|
7:17 ¶
Yahweh shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Efrayim departed from Yehudah; [even] the king of Ashshur. |
7:18
And it shall come to pass°
in that°
day,°
[that]
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
shall hiss°°
for the fly°
that°
[is] in the uttermost part°
of the rivers°
of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,°
and for the bee°
that°
[is] in the land°
of
´Aššûr
אַשּׁוּר.° |
|
7:18
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] Yahweh shall hiss for the fly that [is] in the uttermost part of the rivers of Mitzrayim, and for the bee that [is] in the land of Ashshur. |
7:19
And they shall come,°°
and shall rest°°
all°
of them in the desolate°
valleys,°
and in the holes°
of the rocks,°
and upon all°
thorns,°
and upon all°
bushes.° |
|
7:19
And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes. |
7:20
In the same°
day°
shall
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
shave°°
with a razor°
that is hired,°
[namely], by them beyond°
the river,°
by the king°
of
´Aššûr
אַשּׁוּר,°°
the head,°
and the hair°
of the feet:°
and it shall also°
consume°°°
the beard.° |
|
7:20
In the same day shall Yahweh shave with a razor that is hired, [namely], by them beyond the river, by the king of Ashshur, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard. |
7:21
And it shall come to pass°
in that°
day,°
[that] a man°
shall nourish°°
a young°
cow,°
and two°
sheep;° |
|
7:21
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep; |
7:22
And it shall come to pass,°
for the abundance°°
of milk°
[that] they shall give°°
he shall eat°°
butter:°
for°
butter°
and honey°
shall every one°
eat°°
that is left°°
in°
the land.° |
|
7:22
And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk [that] they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land. |
7:23
And it shall come to pass°
in that°
day,°
[that] every°
place°
shall be,°
where°
there were°
a thousand°
vines°
at a thousand°
silverlings,°
it shall [even] be°
for briers°
and thorns.° |
|
7:23
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall [even] be for briers and thorns. |
7:24
With arrows°
and with bows°
shall [men] come°°
thither;°
because°
all°
the land°
shall become°
briers°
and thorns.° |
|
7:24
With arrows and with bows shall [men] come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns. |
7:25
And [on] all°
hills°
that°
shall be digged°°
with the mattock,°
there shall not°
come°
thither°°°
the fear°
of briers°
and thorns:°
but it shall be°
for the sending forth°
of oxen,°
and for the treading°
of lesser cattle.° |
|
7:25
And [on] all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle. |
