 6:1 ¶ In the yearº that kingº `Uzziyyà עֻזִּיָּהº diedº I sawºº alsoº Yähwè יָהוֶהº sittingºº uponº a throne,º highºº and lifted up,ºº and his trainº filledººº the temple.º

 6:1 ¶ In the year that king Uzziyyah died I saw also Yahweh sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

 6:2 Aboveºº it stoodºº the seraphims:º each oneº had sixº wings;ºº with twainº he coveredºº his face,º and with twainº he coveredºº his feet,º and with twainº he did fly.ºº

 6:2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

 6:3 And one criedºº untoºº another,º and said,ºº Holy,º holy,º holy,º [is] Yähwè יָהוֶהº Xævä´ô± צְבָאוֹת:º the wholeº earthº [is] fullº of his glory.º

 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, [is] Yahweh Tzevaoth: the whole earth [is] full of his glory.

 6:4 And the postsº of the doorº movedºº at the voiceºº of him that cried,ºº and the houseº was filledºº with smoke.º

 6:4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

 6:5 ¶ Then saidºº I, Woeº [is] me! forº I am undone;ºº becauseº Iº [am] a manº of uncleanº lips,º and Iº dwellºº in the midstº of a peopleº of uncleanº lips:º forº mine eyesº have seenººº the King,º Yähwè יָהוֶהº Xævä´ô± צְבָאוֹת.º

 6:5 ¶ Then said I, Woe [is] me! for I am undone; because I [am] a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, Yahweh Tzevaoth.

 6:6 Then flewºº oneº ofº the seraphimsº untoº me, having a live coalº in his hand,º [which] he had takenºº with the tongsº from offºº the altar:º

 6:6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, [which] he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

 6:7 And he laidºº [it] uponº my mouth,º and said,ºº Lo,º thisº hath touchedººº thy lips;º and thine iniquityº is taken away,ºº and thy sinº purged.ºº

 6:7 And he laid [it] upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

 6:8 Also I heardººº the voiceº of Yähwè יָהוֶה,º saying,ººº Whomº shall I send,ºº and whoº will goººº for us? Then saidºº I, Here [am] I;º sendºº me.

 6:8 Also I heard the voice of Yahweh, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here [am] I; send me.

 6:9 ¶ And he said,ºº Go,ººº and tellºº thisº people,º Hearºº ye indeed,ºº but understandºº not;º and seeºº ye indeed,ºº but perceiveºº not.º

 6:9 ¶ And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

 6:10 Make the heartº of thisº peopleº fat,ººº and make their earsº heavy,ºº and shutºº their eyes;º lestº they seeºº with their eyes,º and hearºº with their ears,º and understandºº with their heart,º and convert,ºº and be healed.ºº

 6:10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

 6:11 Then saidºº I, Yähwè יָהוֶה,º how long?ºº And he answered,ºº Untilºº the citiesº be wastedºº withoutºº inhabitant,ºº and the housesº withoutºº man,º and the landº be utterlyº desolate,ºº

 6:11 Then said I, Yahweh, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

 6:12 And Yähwè יָהוֶהº have removedºº menº far away,ºººº and [there be] a greatº forsakingº in the midstº of the land.º

 6:12 And Yahweh have removed men far away, and [there be] a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

 6:13 ¶ But yetº in it [shall be] a tenth,º and [it] shall return,ºº and shall beº eaten:ºº as a teil tree,º and as an oak,º whoseº substanceº [is] in them, when they castº [their leaves: so] the holyº seedº [shall be] the substanceº thereof.

 6:13 ¶ But yet in it [shall be] a tenth, and [it] shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance [is] in them, when they cast [their leaves: so] the holy seed [shall be] the substance thereof.
