Woeº
to thee that spoilest,ºº
and thouº
[wast] notº
spoiled;ºº
and dealest treacherously,ºº
and they dealt not treacherouslyººº
with thee! when thou shalt ceaseºº
to spoil,ºº
thou shalt be spoiled;ºº
[and] when thou shalt make an endºº
to deal treacherously,ºº
they shall deal treacherouslyºº
with thee. |

Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou [wast] not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; [and] when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee. |

יָהוֶה,º
be graciousºº
unto us; we have waitedºº
for thee: beº
thou their armº
every morning,º
our salvationº
alsoº
in the timeº
of trouble.º |

33:2
O Yahweh, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble. |

33:3
At the noiseºº
of the tumultº
the peopleº
fled;ºº
at the lifting upºº
of thyself the nationsº
were scattered.ºº |

33:3
At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered. |
|
33:4
And your spoilº
shall be gatheredºº
[like] the gatheringº
of the caterpiller:º
as the running to and froº
of locustsº
shall he runºº
upon them. |

33:4
And your spoil shall be gathered [like] the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them. |

יָהוֶהº
is exalted;ºº
forº
he dwellethºº
on high:º
he hath filledºº
Xiyyôn
צִיּוֹןº
with judgmentº
and righteousness.º |

Yahweh is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Tziyyon with judgment and righteousness. |

33:6
And wisdomº
and knowledgeº
shall beº
the stabilityº
of thy times,º
[and] strengthº
of salvation:º
the fearº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
[is] his treasure.º |

33:6
And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, [and] strength of salvation: the fear of Yahweh [is] his treasure. |
|
33:7
Behold,º
their valiant onesº
shall cryºº
without:º
the ambassadorsº
of peaceº
shall weepºº
bitterly.º |
|
33:7
Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly. |
|
33:8
The highwaysº
lie waste,ºº
the wayfaring manººº
ceaseth:ºº
he hath brokenºº
the covenant,º
he hath despisedºº
the cities,º
he regardethºº
noº
man.º |

The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man. |

The earthº

[and] languisheth:ºº

is ashamedºº
[and] hewn down:ºº

like a wilderness;º

The earth mourneth [and] languisheth: Levanon is ashamed [and] hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Karmel shake off [their fruits]. |

Nowº
will I rise,ºº
saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה;º
nowº
will I be exalted;ººº
nowº
will I lift upºº
myself.º |

33:10
Now will I rise, saith Yahweh; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself. |

33:11
Ye shall conceiveºº
chaff,º
ye shall bring forthºº
stubble:º
your breath,º
[as] fire,º
shall devourºº
you. |

33:11
Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, [as] fire, shall devour you. |
|
33:12
And the peopleº
shall beº
[as] the burningsº
of lime:º
[as] thornsº
cut upºº
shall they be burnedºº
in the fire.º |

33:12
And the people shall be [as] the burnings of lime: [as] thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire. |

33:13 ¶
Hear,ºº
ye [that are] far off,º
whatº
I have done;ºº
and, ye [that are] near,º
acknowledgeºº
my might.º |

33:13 ¶
Hear, ye [that are] far off, what I have done; and, ye [that are] near, acknowledge my might. |

The sinnersº
in
Xiyyôn
צִיּוֹןº
are afraid;ºº
fearfulnessº
hath surprisedºº
the hypocrites.º
Whoº
among us shall dwellºº
with the devouringºº
fire?º
whoº
among us shall dwellºº
with everlastingº
burnings?º |

The sinners in Tziyyon are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? |

He that walkethºº
righteously,º
and speakethºº
uprightly;º
he that despisethºº
the gainº
of oppressions,º
that shakethºº
his handsº
from holdingººº
of bribes,º
that stoppethºº
his earsº
from hearingººº
of blood,º
and shuttethºº
his eyesº
from seeingººº
evil;º |

He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil; |

on high:º
his place of defenceº
[shall be] the munitionsº
of rocks:º
breadº
shall be givenºº
him; his watersº
[shall be] sure.ºº |

He shall dwell on high: his place of defence [shall be] the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters [shall be] sure. |

Thine eyesº
shall seeºº
the kingº
in his beauty:º
they shall beholdºº
the landº
that is very far off.º |

Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off. |

terror.º

Look upon Tziyyon, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Yerushalaim a quiet habitation, a tabernacle [that] shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken. |

[will be] unto us a placeº
of broadºº
riversº
[and] streams;º
wherein shall goººº
noº
galleyº
with oars,º
neitherº
shall gallantº

But there the glorious Yahweh [will be] unto us a place of broad rivers [and] streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby. |

[is] our judge,ºº
Yähwè

[is] our lawgiver,ºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
[is] our king;º
heº
will saveºº
us. |

For Yahweh [is] our judge, Yahweh [is] our lawgiver, Yahweh [is] our king; he will save us. |

Thy tacklingsº
are loosed;ºº
they could notº
wellº
strengthenºº
their mast,º
they could notº
spreadºº
the sail:º
thenº
is the preyº
of a greatº
spoilº
divided;ºº
the lameº
takeºº
the prey.º |

33:23
Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey. |

33:24
And the inhabitantº
shall notº
say,ºº
I am sick:ºº
the peopleº
that dwellºº
therein [shall be] forgivenºº
[their] iniquity.º |
|
33:24
And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein [shall be] forgiven [their] iniquity. |
