 21:1 Kiy-yiMätzë chäläl Bäádämäh ásher y'hwäh éloheykhä notën l'khä l'rish'TäH nofël BaSädeh lo nôda miy hiKähû

 21:1 ¶ If x3588 [one] be found 4672 z8735 slain 2491 in the land 127 which x834 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 giveth 5414 z8802 thee to possess 3423 z8800 it, lying 5307 z8802 in the field, 7704 [and] it be not x3808 known 3045 z8738 who x4310 hath slain 5221 z8689 him:

וְיָצְאוּ זְקֵנֶיךָ וְשֹׁפְטֶיךָ וּמָדְדוּ אֶל־הֶעָרִים אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבֹת הֶחָלָל

 21:2 w'yätz'û z'qëneykhä w'shof'ţeykhä ûmäd'dû el-heäriym ásher š'viyvot hechäläl

 21:2 Then thy elders 2205 and thy judges 8199 z8802 shall come forth, 3318 z8804 and they shall measure 4058 z8804 unto x413 the cities 5892 which x834 [are] round about 5439 him that is slain: 2491

וְהָיָה הָעִיר הַקְּרֹבָה אֶל־הֶחָלָל וְלָקְחוּ זִקְנֵי הָעִיר הַהִוא עֶגְלַת בָּקָר אֲשֶׁר לֹא־עֻבַּד בָּהּ אֲשֶׁר לֹא־מָשְׁכָה בְּעֹל

 21:3 w'häyäh häiyr haQ'roväh el-hechäläl w'läq'chû ziq'nëy häiyr hahiw eg'lat Bäqär ásher lo-uBad BäH ásher lo-mäsh'khäh B'ol

 21:3 And it shall be, x1961 [that] the city 5892 [which is] next 7138 unto x413 the slain man, 2491 even the elders 2205 of that x1931 city 5892 shall take 3947 z8804 an heifer, 1241 5697 which x834 hath not x3808 been wrought x5647 with, y5647 z8795 [and] which x834 hath not x3808 drawn 4900 z8804 in the yoke; 5923

וְהוֹרִדוּ זִקְנֵי הָעִיר הַהִוא אֶת־הָעֶגְלָה אֶל־נַחַל אֵיתָן אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יֵעָבֵד בּוֹ וְלֹא יִזָּרֵעַ וְעָרְפוּ־שָׁם אֶת־הָעֶגְלָה בַּנָּחַל

 21:4 w'hôridû ziq'nëy häiyr hahiw et-häeg'läh el-nachal ëytän ásher lo-yëävëd Bô w'lo yiZärëª w'är'fû-shäm et-häeg'läh BaNächal

 21:4 And the elders 2205 of that x1931 city 5892 shall bring down 3381 z8689 x853 the heifer 5697 unto x413 a rough 386 valley, 5158 which x834 is neither x3808 eared 5647 z8735 nor x3808 sown, 2232 z8735 and shall strike off y6202 z0 x6203 x853 the heifer's 5697 neck y6202 z8804 x6203 there x8033 in the valley: 5158

וְנִגְּשׁוּ הַכֹּהֲנִים בְּנֵי לֵוִי כִּי בָם בָּחַר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ לְשָׁרְתוֹ וּלְבָרֵךְ בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה וְעַל־פִּיהֶם יִהְיֶה כָּל־רִיב וְכָל־נָגַע

 21:5 w'niG'shû haKohániym B'nëy lëwiy Kiy väm Bächar y'hwäh éloheykhä l'shär'tô ûl'värëkh' B'shëm y'hwäh w'al-Piyhem yih'yeh Käl-riyv w'khäl-näga

 21:5 And the priests 3548 the sons 1121 of Lëwî לֵוִי 3878 shall come near; 5066 z8738 for x3588 them Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 hath chosen 977 z8804 to minister 8334 z8763 unto him, and to bless 1288 z8763 in the name 8034 of Yähwè יָהוֶה; 3068 and by x5921 their word 6310 shall every x3605 controversy 7379 and every x3605 stroke 5061 be x1961 [tried]:

וְכֹל זִקְנֵי הָעִיר הַהִוא הַקְּרֹבִים אֶל־הֶחָלָל יִרְחֲצוּ אֶת־יְדֵיהֶם עַל־הָעֶגְלָה הָעֲרוּפָה בַנָּחַל

 21:6 w'khol ziq'nëy häiyr hahiw haQ'roviym el-hechäläl yir'chátzû et-y'dëyhem al-häeg'läh häárûfäh vaNächal

 21:6 And all x3605 the elders 2205 of that x1931 city, 5892 [that are] next 7138 unto x413 the slain 2491 [man], shall wash 7364 z8799 x853 their hands 3027 over x5921 the heifer 5697 that is beheaded 6202 z8803 in the valley: 5158

וְעָנוּ וְאָמְרוּ יָדֵינוּ לֹא *שָׁפְכָה [שָׁפְכוּ] אֶת־הַדָּם הַזֶּה וְעֵינֵינוּ לֹא רָאוּ

 21:7 w'änû w'äm'rû yädëynû lo *shäf'khäh [shäf'khû] et-haDäm haZeh w'ëynëynû lo räû

 21:7 And they shall answer 6030 z8804 and say, 559 z8804 Our hands 3027 have not x3808 shed 8210 z8804 x853 this x2088 blood, 1818 neither x3808 have our eyes 5869 seen 7200 z8804 [it].

כַּפֵּר לְעַמְּךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר־פָּדִיתָ יְהוָה וְאַל־תִּתֵּן דָּם נָקִי בְּקֶרֶב עַמְּךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל וְנִכַּפֵּר לָהֶם הַדָּם

 21:8 KaPër l'aM'khä yis'räël ásher-Pädiytä y'hwäh w'al-TiTën Däm näqiy B'qerev aM'khä yis'räël w'niKaPër lähem haDäm

 21:8 Be merciful, 3722 z8761 O Yähwè יָהוֶה, 3068 unto thy people 5971 Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל, 3478 whom x834 thou hast redeemed, 6299 z8804 and lay 5414 z8799 not x408 innocent 5355 blood 1818 unto thy people 5971 of Yiŝrä´ël's יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 charge. 7130 And the blood 1818 shall be forgiven 3722 z8694 them.

וְאַתָּה תְּבַעֵר הַדָּם הַנָּקִי מִקִּרְבֶּךָ כִּי־תַעֲשֶׂה הַיָּשָׁר בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָה ס

 21:9 w'aTäh T'vaër haDäm haNäqiy miQir'Bekhä Kiy-taáseh haYäshär B'ëynëy y'hwäh š

 21:9 So shalt thou x859 put away 1197 z8762 the [guilt of] innocent 5355 blood 1818 from among 7130 x4480 you, when x3588 thou shalt do 6213 z8799 [that which is] right 3477 in the sight 5869 of Yähwè יָהוֶה. 3068

כִּי־תֵצֵא לַמִּלְחָמָה עַל־אֹיְבֶיךָ וּנְתָנוֹ יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בְּיָדֶךָ וְשָׁבִיתָ שִׁבְיוֹ

 21:10 Kiy-tëtzë laMil'chämäh al-oy'veykhä ûn'tänô y'hwäh éloheykhä B'yädekhä w'shäviytä shiv'yô

 21:10 ¶ When x3588 thou goest forth 3318 z8799 to war 4421 against x5921 thine enemies, 341 z8802 and Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 hath delivered 5414 z8804 them into thine hands, 3027 and thou hast taken 7617 z8804 them captive, 7628

וְרָאִיתָ בַּשִּׁבְיָה אֵשֶׁת יְפַת־תֹּאַר וְחָשַׁקְתָּ בָהּ וְלָקַחְתָּ לְךָ לְאִשָּׁה

 21:11 w'räiytä BaSHiv'yäh ëshet y'fat-Toar w'chäshaq'Tä väH w'läqach'Tä l'khä l'iSHäh

 21:11 And seest 7200 z8804 among the captives 7633 a beautiful 8389 y3303 x3033 woman, 802 and hast a desire 2836 z8804 unto her, that thou wouldest have x3947 her y3947 z8804 to thy wife; 802

וַהֲבֵאתָהּ אֶל־תּוֹךְ בֵּיתֶךָ וְגִלְּחָה אֶת־רֹאשָׁהּ וְעָשְׂתָה אֶת־צִפָּרְנֶיהָ

 21:12 wahávëtäH el-Tôkh' Bëytekhä w'giL'chäh et-roshäH w'äs'täh et-tziPär'neyhä

 21:12 Then thou shalt bring 935 z8689 her home 8432 to thine house; 1004 and she shall shave 1548 z8765 x853 her head, 7218 and pare 6213 z8804 x853 her nails; 6856

וְהֵסִירָה אֶת־שִׂמְלַת שִׁבְיָהּ מֵעָלֶיהָ וְיָשְׁבָה בְּבֵיתֶךָ וּבָכְתָה אֶת־אָבִיהָ וְאֶת־אִמָּהּ יֶרַח יָמִים וְאַחַר כֵּן תָּבוֹא אֵלֶיהָ וּבְעַלְתָּהּ וְהָיְתָה לְךָ לְאִשָּׁה

 21:13 w'hëšiyräh et-sim'lat shiv'yäH mëäleyhä w'yäsh'väh B'vëytekhä ûväkh'täh et-äviyhä w'et-iMäH yerach yämiym w'achar Kën Tävô ëleyhä ûv'al'TäH w'häy'täh l'khä l'iSHäh

 21:13 And she shall put 5493 z8689 x853 the raiment 8071 of her captivity 7628 from off x4480 x5921 her, and shall remain 3427 z8804 in thine house, 1004 and bewail 1058 z8804 x853 her father 1 and her mother 517 a full 3117 month: 3391 and after 310 that x3651 thou shalt go y935 z8799 in x935 unto x413 her, and be her husband, y1166 z8804 x1167 and she shall be x1961 thy wife. 802

וְהָיָה אִם־לֹא חָפַצְתָּ בָּהּ וְשִׁלַּחְתָּהּ לְנַפְשָׁהּ וּמָכֹר לֹא־תִמְכְּרֶנָּה בַּכָּסֶף לֹא־תִתְעַמֵּר בָּהּ תַּחַת אֲשֶׁר עִנִּיתָהּ ס

 21:14 w'häyäh im-lo chäfatz'Tä BäH w'shiLach'TäH l'naf'shäH ûmäkhor lo-tim'K'reNäh BaKäšef lo-tit'aMër BäH Tachat ásher iNiytäH š

 21:14 And it shall be, x1961 if x518 thou have no delight 2654 z8804 x3808 in her, then thou shalt let her go 7971 z8765 whither she will; 5315 but thou shalt not x3808 sell y4376 z8799 her at all 4376 z8800 for money, 3701 thou shalt not x3808 make merchandise 6014 z8691 of her, because 834 x8478 thou hast humbled 6031 z8765 her.

כִּי־תִהְיֶיןָ לְאִישׁ שְׁתֵּי נָשִׁים הָאַחַת אֲהוּבָה וְהָאַחַת שְׂנוּאָה וְיָלְדוּ־לוֹ בָנִים הָאֲהוּבָה וְהַשְּׂנוּאָה וְהָיָה הַבֵּן הַבְּכוֹר לַשְּׂנִיאָה

 21:15 Kiy-tih'yeynä l'iysh sh'Tëy näshiym häachat áhûväh w'häachat s'nûäh w'yäl'dû-lô väniym häáhûväh w'haS'nûäh w'häyäh haBën haB'khôr laS'niyäh

 21:15 ¶ If x3588 a man 376 have x1961 two 8147 wives, 802 one 259 beloved, 157 z8803 and another 259 hated, 8130 z8803 and they have born 3205 z8804 him children, 1121 [both] the beloved 157 z8803 and the hated; 8130 z8803 and [if] the firstborn 1060 son 1121 be x1961 hers that was hated: 8146

וְהָיָה בְּיוֹם הַנְחִילוֹ אֶת־בָּנָיו אֵת אֲשֶׁר־יִהְיֶה לוֹ לֹא יוּכַל לְבַכֵּר אֶת־בֶּן־הָאֲהוּבָה עַל־פְּנֵי בֶן־הַשְּׂנוּאָה הַבְּכֹר

 21:16 w'häyäh B'yôm han'chiylô et-Bänäyw ët ásher-yih'yeh lô lo yûkhal l'vaKër et-Ben-häáhûväh al-P'nëy ven-haS'nûäh haB'khor

 21:16 Then it shall be, x1961 when 3117 he maketh x853 his sons 1121 to inherit 5157 z8687 x853 [that] which x834 he hath, x1961 [that] he may 3201 z8799 not x3808 make x1069 x853 the son 1121 of the beloved 157 z8803 firstborn 1069 z8763 before 6440 x5921 the son 1121 of the hated, 8130 z8803 [which is indeed] the firstborn: 1060

כִּי אֶת־הַבְּכֹר בֶּן־הַשְּׂנוּאָה יַכִּיר לָתֶת לוֹ פִּי שְׁנַיִם בְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יִמָּצֵא לוֹ כִּי־הוּא רֵאשִׁית אֹנוֹ לוֹ מִשְׁפַּט הַבְּכֹרָה ס

 21:17 Kiy et-haB'khor Ben-haS'nûäh yaKiyr lätet lô Piy sh'nayim B'khol ásher-yiMätzë lô Kiy-hû rëshiyt onô lô mish'Paţ haB'khoräh š

 21:17 But x3588 he shall acknowledge 5234 z8686 the son 1121 of the hated 8130 z8803 x853 [for] the firstborn, 1060 by giving 5414 z8800 him a double 8147 portion 6310 of all x3605 that x834 he hath: 4672 z8735 for x3588 he x1931 [is] the beginning 7225 of his strength; 202 the right 4941 of the firstborn 1062 [is] his.

כִּי־יִהְיֶה לְאִישׁ בֵּן סוֹרֵר וּמוֹרֶה אֵינֶנּוּ שֹׁמֵעַ בְּקוֹל אָבִיו וּבְקוֹל אִמּוֹ וְיִסְּרוּ אֹתוֹ וְלֹא יִשְׁמַע אֲלֵיהֶם

 21:18 Kiy-yih'yeh l'iysh Bën šôrër ûmôreh ëyneNû shomëª B'qôl äviyw ûv'qôl iMô w'yiŠ'rû otô w'lo yish'ma álëyhem

 21:18 ¶ If x3588 a man 376 have x1961 a stubborn 5637 z8802 and rebellious 4784 z8802 son, 1121 which will not x369 obey 8085 z8802 the voice 6963 of his father, 1 or the voice 6963 of his mother, 517 and [that], when they have chastened 3256 z8765 him, will not x3808 hearken 8085 z8799 unto x413 them:

וְתָפְשׂוּ בוֹ אָבִיו וְאִמּוֹ וְהוֹצִיאוּ אֹתוֹ אֶל־זִקְנֵי עִירוֹ וְאֶל־שַׁעַר מְקֹמוֹ

 21:19 w'täf'sû vô äviyw w'iMô w'hôtziyû otô el-ziq'nëy iyrô w'el-shaar m'qomô

 21:19 Then shall his father 1 and his mother 517 lay hold 8610 z8804 on him, and bring him out 3318 z8689 x853 unto x413 the elders 2205 of his city, 5892 and unto x413 the gate 8179 of his place; 4725

וְאָמְרוּ אֶל־זִקְנֵי עִירוֹ בְּנֵנוּ זֶה סוֹרֵר וּמֹרֶה אֵינֶנּוּ שֹׁמֵעַ בְּקֹלֵנוּ זוֹלֵל וְסֹבֵא

 21:20 w'äm'rû el-ziq'nëy iyrô B'nënû zeh šôrër ûmoreh ëyneNû shomëª B'qolënû zôlël w'šovë

 21:20 And they shall say 559 z8804 unto x413 the elders 2205 of his city, 5892 This x2088 our son 1121 [is] stubborn 5637 z8802 and rebellious, 4784 z8802 he will not x369 obey 8085 z8802 our voice; 6963 [he is] a glutton, 2151 z8802 and a drunkard. 5433 z8802

וּרְגָמֻהוּ כָּל־אַנְשֵׁי עִירוֹ בָאֲבָנִים וָמֵת וּבִעַרְתָּ הָרָע מִקִּרְבֶּךָ וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵל יִשְׁמְעוּ וְיִרָאוּ ס

 21:21 ûr'gämuhû Käl-an'shëy iyrô väáväniym wämët ûviar'Tä härä miQir'Bekhä w'khäl-yis'räël yish'm'û w'yiräû š

 21:21 And all x3605 the men y582 x376 of his city 5892 shall stone 7275 z8804 him with stones, 68 that he die: 4191 z8804 so shalt thou put y1197 z0 evil y7451 away 1197 z8765 x7451 from among 7130 x4480 you; and all x3605 Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 shall hear, 8085 z8799 and fear. 3372 z8799

וְכִי־יִהְיֶה בְאִישׁ חֵטְא מִשְׁפַּט־מָוֶת וְהוּמָת וְתָלִיתָ אֹתוֹ עַל־עֵץ

 21:22 w'khiy-yih'yeh v'iysh chëţ' mish'Paţ-mäwet w'hûmät w'täliytä otô al-ëtz

 21:22 ¶ And if x3588 a man 376 have committed x1961 a sin 2399 worthy x4941 of y4941 death, 4194 and he be to be put to death, 4191 z8717 and thou hang 8518 z8804 him on x5921 a tree: 6086

לֹא־תָלִין נִבְלָתוֹ עַל־הָעֵץ כִּי־קָבוֹר תִּקְבְּרֶנּוּ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא כִּי־קִלְלַת אֱלֹהִים תָּלוּי וְלֹא תְטַמֵּא אֶת־אַדְמָתְךָ אֲשֶׁר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ נֹתֵן לְךָ נַחֲלָה ס

 21:23 lo-täliyn niv'lätô al-häëtz Kiy-qävôr Tiq'B'reNû BaYôm hahû Kiy-qil'lat élohiym Tälûy w'lo t'ţaMë et-ad'mät'khä ásher y'hwäh éloheykhä notën l'khä nacháläh š

 21:23 His body 5038 shall not x3808 remain all night 3885 z8799 upon x5921 the tree, 6086 but x3588 thou shalt in any wise y6912 z8800 bury 6912 z8799 him that x1931 day; 3117 (for x3588 he that is hanged 8518 z8803 [is] accursed 7045 of ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים;) 430 that x853 thy land 127 be not x3808 defiled, 2930 z8762 which x834 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 giveth 5414 z8802 thee [for] an inheritance. 5159
