 24:1 ¶ And when Bil`äm בִּלעָם 1109 saw 7200 z8799 that x3588 it pleased 5869 2895 z8804 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 to bless 1288 z8763 x853 Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל, 3478 he went 1980 z8804 not, x3808 as at other times, 6471 to seek 7125 z8800 for enchantments, 5173 but he set 7896 z8799 his face 6440 toward x413 the wilderness. 4057

וַיִּשָּׂא בִלְעָם אֶת־עֵינָיו וַיַּרְא אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל שֹׁכֵן לִשְׁבָטָיו וַתְּהִי עָלָיו רוּחַ אֱלֹהִים

 24:2 waYiSä vil'äm et-ëynäyw waYar' et-yis'räël shokhën lish'väţäyw waT'hiy äläyw rûªch élohiym

 24:2 And Bil`äm בִּלעָם 1109 lifted up 5375 z8799 x853 his eyes, 5869 and he saw 7200 z8799 x853 Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 abiding 7931 z8802 [in his tents] according to their tribes; 7626 and the spirit 7307 of ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 came x1961 upon x5921 him.

וַיִּשָּׂא מְשָׁלוֹ וַיֹּאמַר נְאֻם בִּלְעָם בְּנוֹ בְעֹר וּנְאֻם הַגֶּבֶר שְׁתֻם הָעָיִן

נְאֻם שֹׁמֵעַ אִמְרֵי־אֵל אֲשֶׁר מַחֲזֵה שַׁדַּי יֶחֱזֶה נֹפֵל וּגְלוּי עֵינָיִם

מַה־טֹּבוּ אֹהָלֶיךָ יַעֲקֹב מִשְׁכְּנֹתֶיךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל

 24:5 mah-Ţovû ohäleykhä yaáqov mish'K'noteykhä yis'räël

 24:5 How x4100 goodly 2895 z8804 are thy tents, 168 O Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב, 3290 [and] thy tabernacles, 4908 O Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל! 3478

כִּנְחָלִים נִטָּיוּ כְּגַנֹּת עֲלֵי נָהָר כַּאֲהָלִים נָטַע יְהוָה כַּאֲרָזִים עֲלֵי־מָיִם

 24:6 Kin'chäliym niŢäyû K'gaNot álëy nähär Kaáhäliym näţa y'hwäh Kaáräziym álëy-mäyim

 24:6 As the valleys 5158 are they spread forth, 5186 z8738 as gardens 1593 by x5921 the river's x5104 side, y5104 as the trees of lign aloes 174 which Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 hath planted, 5193 z8804 [and] as cedar trees 730 beside x5921 the waters. 4325

יִזַּל־מַיִם מִדָּלְיָו וְזַרְעוֹ בְּמַיִם רַבִּים וְיָרֹם מֵאֲגַג מַלְכּוֹ וְתִנַּשֵּׂא מַלְכֻתוֹ

אֵל מוֹצִיאוֹ מִמִּצְרַיִם כְּתוֹעֲפֹת רְאֵם לוֹ יֹאכַל גּוֹיִם צָרָיו וְעַצְמֹתֵיהֶם יְגָרֵם וְחִצָּיו יִמְחָץ

 24:8 ël môtziyô miMitz'rayim K'tôáfot r'ëm lô yokhal Gôyim tzäräyw w'atz'motëyhem y'gärëm w'chiTZäyw yim'chätz

 24:9 Kära shäkhav Kaáriy ûkh'läviy miy y'qiymeNû m'värákheykhä värûkh' w'or'reykhä ärûr

וַיִּחַר־אַף בָּלָק אֶל־בִּלְעָם וַיִּסְפֹּק אֶת־כַּפָּיו וַיֹּאמֶר בָּלָק אֶל־בִּלְעָם לָקֹב אֹיְבַי קְרָאתִיךָ וְהִנֵּה בֵּרַכְתָּ בָרֵךְ זֶה שָׁלֹשׁ פְּעָמִים

 24:10 waYichar-af Bäläq el-Bil'äm waYiš'Poq et-KaPäyw waYomer Bäläq el-Bil'äm läqov oy'vay q'rätiykhä w'hiNëh Bërakh'Tä värëkh' zeh shälosh P'ämiym

 24:10 ¶ And Bäläk's בָּלָק 1111 anger 639 was kindled 2734 z8799 against x413 Bil`äm בִּלעָם, 1109 and he smote y5606 z0 his hands y3709 together: 5606 z8799 x853 x3709 and Bäläk בָּלָק 1111 said 559 z8799 unto x413 Bil`äm בִּלעָם, 1109 I called 7121 z8804 thee to curse 6895 z8800 mine enemies, 341 z8802 and, behold, x2009 thou hast altogether y1288 z8763 blessed 1288 z8765 [them] these x2088 three 7969 times. 6471

וַיֹּאמֶר בִּלְעָם אֶל־בָּלָק הֲלֹא גַּם אֶל־מַלְאָכֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַחְתָּ אֵלַי דִּבַּרְתִּי לֵאמֹר

 24:12 waYomer Bil'äm el-Bäläq hálo Gam el-mal'äkheykhä ásher-shälach'Tä ëlay DiBar'Tiy lëmor

 24:12 And Bil`äm בִּלעָם 1109 said 559 z8799 unto x413 Bäläk בָּלָק, 1111 Spake 1696 z8765 I not x3808 also x1571 to x413 thy messengers 4397 which x834 thou sentest 7971 z8804 unto x413 me, saying, 559 z8800

אִם־יִתֶּן־לִי בָלָק מְלֹא בֵיתוֹ כֶּסֶף וְזָהָב לֹא אוּכַל לַעֲבֹר אֶת־פִּי יְהוָה לַעֲשׂוֹת טוֹבָה אוֹ רָעָה מִלִּבִּי אֲשֶׁר־יְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֹתוֹ אֲדַבֵּר

וַיִּשָּׂא מְשָׁלוֹ וַיֹּאמַר נְאֻם בִּלְעָם בְּנוֹ בְעֹר וּנְאֻם הַגֶּבֶר שְׁתֻם הָעָיִן

 24:15 ¶ And he took up 5375 z8799 his parable, 4912 and said, 559 z8799 Bil`äm בִּלעָם 1109 the son 1121 of Bæ`ôr בְּעוֹר 1160 hath said, 5002 z8803 and the man 1397 whose eyes 5869 are open 8365 z8803 hath said: 5002 z8803

נְאֻם שֹׁמֵעַ אִמְרֵי־אֵל וְיֹדֵעַ דַּעַת עֶלְיוֹן מַחֲזֵה שַׁדַּי יֶחֱזֶה נֹפֵל וּגְלוּי עֵינָיִם

 24:16 n'um shomëª im'rëy-ël w'yodëª Daat el'yôn macházëh shaDay yechézeh nofël ûg'lûy ëynäyim

אֶרְאֶנּוּ וְלֹא עַתָּה אֲשׁוּרֶנּוּ וְלֹא קָרוֹב דָּרַךְ כּוֹכָב מִיַּעֲקֹב וְקָם שֵׁבֶט מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל וּמָחַץ פַּאֲתֵי מוֹאָב וְקַרְקַר כָּל־בְּנֵי־שֵׁת

 24:17 er'eNû w'lo aTäh áshûreNû w'lo qärôv Därakh' Kôkhäv miYaáqov w'qäm shëveţ miYis'räël ûmächatz Paátëy môäv w'qar'qar Käl-B'nëy-shët

 24:17 I shall see 7200 z8799 him, but not x3808 now: x6258 I shall behold 7789 z8799 him, but not x3808 nigh: 7138 there shall come 1869 z8804 a Star 3556 out of Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב, 3290 x4480 and a Sceptre 7626 shall rise 6965 z8804 out of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל, 3478 x4480 and shall smite 4272 z8804 the corners 6285 of Mô´äv מוֹאָב, 4124 and destroy y6979 z8773 x4272 all x3605 the children 1121 of Šëŧ שֵׁת. 8352 z8676 y8351

וְהָיָה אֱדוֹם יְרֵשָׁה וְהָיָה יְרֵשָׁה שֵׂעִיר אֹיְבָיו וְיִשְׂרָאֵל עֹשֶׂה חָיִל

 24:18 w'häyäh édôm y'rëshäh w'häyäh y'rëshäh sëiyr oy'väyw w'yis'räël oseh chäyil

 24:18 And ´Éđôm אֱדוֹם 123 shall be x1961 a possession, 3424 Ŝë`îr שֵׂעִיר 8165 also shall be x1961 a possession 3424 for his enemies; 341 z8802 and Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 shall do 6213 z8802 valiantly. 2428

וְיֵרְדְּ מִיַּעֲקֹב וְהֶאֱבִיד שָׂרִיד מֵעִיר

 24:19 w'yër'D' miYaáqov w'heéviyd säriyd mëiyr

 24:19 Out of Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב 3290 x4480 shall come he that shall have dominion, 7287 z8799 and shall destroy 6 z8689 him that remaineth 8300 of the city. 5892 x4480

וַיַּרְא אֶת־עֲמָלֵק וַיִּשָּׂא מְשָׁלוֹ וַיֹּאמַר רֵאשִׁית גּוֹיִם עֲמָלֵק וְאַחֲרִיתוֹ עֲדֵי אֹבֵד

 24:20 ¶ And when he looked y7200 z8799 on x7200 x853 `Ámälëk עֲמָלֵק, 6002 he took up 5375 z8799 his parable, 4912 and said, 559 z8799 `Ámälëk עֲמָלֵק 6002 [was] the first 7225 of the nations; 1471 but his latter y319 end x319 [shall be] that he perish 8 for ever. 5703

וַיַּרְא אֶת־הַקֵּינִי וַיִּשָּׂא מְשָׁלוֹ וַיֹּאמַר אֵיתָן מוֹשָׁבֶךָ וְשִׂים בַּסֶּלַע קִנֶּךָ

כִּי אִם־יִהְיֶה לְבָעֵר קָיִן עַד־מָה אַשּׁוּר תִּשְׁבֶּךָּ

 24:22 Kiy im-yih'yeh l'väër qäyin ad-mäh aSHûr Tish'BeKä

 24:22 Nevertheless x3588 x518 Kayin קַיִן 7014 shall y518 be x1961 wasted, 1197 z8763 until x5704 x4100 ´Aššûr אַשּׁוּר 804 shall carry thee away captive. 7617 z8799

וַיִּשָּׂא מְשָׁלוֹ וַיֹּאמַר אוֹי מִי יִחְיֶה מִשֻּׂמוֹ אֵל

 24:23 waYiSä m'shälô waYomar ôy miy yich'yeh miSumô ël

 24:23 And he took up 5375 z8799 his parable, 4912 and said, 559 z8799 Alas, 188 who x4310 shall live 2421 z8799 when ´Ël אֵל 410 doeth 7760 z8800 x4480 this!

וְצִים מִיַּד כִּתִּים וְעִנּוּ אַשּׁוּר וְעִנּוּ־עֵבֶר וְגַם־הוּא עֲדֵי אֹבֵד

 24:24 w'tziym miYad KiTiym w'iNû aSHûr w'iNû-ëver w'gam-hû ádëy ovëd

 24:24 And ships 6716 [shall come] from the coast 3027 x4480 of Cittîm כִּתִּים, 3794 and shall afflict 6031 z8765 ´Aššûr אַשּׁוּר, 804 and shall afflict 6031 z8765 `Ëver עֵבֶר, 5677 and he x1931 also x1571 shall perish 8 for ever. 5703

וַיָּקָם בִּלְעָם וַיֵּלֶךְ וַיָּשָׁב לִמְקֹמוֹ וְגַם־בָּלָק הָלַךְ לְדַרְכּוֹ פ

 24:25 waYäqäm Bil'äm waYëlekh' waYäshäv lim'qomô w'gam-Bäläq hälakh' l'dar'Kô f

 24:25 And Bil`äm בִּלעָם 1109 rose up, 6965 z8799 and went y3212 z8799 x1980 and returned 7725 z8799 to his place: 4725 and Bäläk בָּלָק 1111 also x1571 went 1980 z8804 his way. 1870
