וְלוֹ־הָיָה בֵן וּשְׁמוֹ שָׁאוּל בָּחוּר וָטוֹב וְאֵין אִישׁ מִבְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל טוֹב מִמֶּנּוּ מִשִּׁכְמוֹ וָמַעְלָה גָּבֹהַּ מִכָּל־הָעָם

הֵמָּה בָּאוּ בְּאֶרֶץ צוּף וְשָׁאוּל אָמַר לְנַעֲרוֹ אֲשֶׁר־עִמּוֹ לְכָה וְנָשׁוּבָה פֶּן־יֶחְדַּל אָבִי מִן־הָאֲתֹנוֹת וְדָאַג לָנוּ

וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ הִנֵּה־נָא אִישׁ־אֱלֹהִים בָּעִיר הַזֹּאת וְהָאִישׁ נִכְבָּד כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־יְדַבֵּר בּוֹא יָבוֹא עַתָּה נֵלֲכָה שָּׁם אוּלַי יַגִּיד לָנוּ אֶת־דַּרְכֵּנוּ אֲשֶׁר־הָלַכְנוּ עָלֶיהָ

וַיֹּאמֶר שָׁאוּל לְנַעֲרוֹ וְהִנֵּה נֵלֵךְ וּמַה־נָּבִיא לָאִישׁ כִּי הַלֶּחֶם אָזַל מִכֵּלֵינוּ וּתְשׁוּרָה אֵין־לְהָבִיא לְאִישׁ הָאֱלֹהִים מָה אִתָּנוּ

הֵמָּה עֹלִים בְּמַעֲלֵה הָעִיר וְהֵמָּה מָצְאוּ נְעָרוֹת יֹצְאוֹת לִשְׁאֹב מָיִם וַיֹּאמְרוּ לָהֶן הֲיֵשׁ בָּזֶה הָרֹאֶה

וַתַּעֲנֶינָה אוֹתָם וַתֹּאמַרְנָה יֵּשׁ הִנֵּה לְפָנֶיךָ מַהֵר עַתָּה כִּי הַיּוֹם בָּא לָעִיר כִּי זֶבַח הַיּוֹם לָעָם בַּבָּמָה

 9:12 waTaáneynäh ôtäm waTomar'näh Yësh hiNëh l'fäneykhä mahër aTäh Kiy haYôm Bä läiyr Kiy zevach haYôm lääm BaBämäh

 9:12 And they answered 6030 z8799 them, and said, 559 z8799 He is; 3426 behold, x2009 [he is] before 6440 you: make haste 4116 z8761 now, x6258 for x3588 he came 935 z8804 to day 3117 to the city; 5892 for x3588 [there is] a sacrifice 2077 of the people 5971 to day 3117 in the high place: 1116

כְּבֹאֲכֶם הָעִיר כֵּן תִּמְצְאוּן אֹתוֹ בְּטֶרֶם יַעֲלֶה הַבָּמָתָה לֶאֱכֹל כִּי לֹא־יֹאכַל הָעָם עַד־בֹּאוֹ כִּי־הוּא יְבָרֵךְ הַזֶּבַח אַחֲרֵי־כֵן יֹאכְלוּ הַקְּרֻאִים וְעַתָּה עֲלוּ כִּי־אֹתוֹ כְהַיּוֹם תִּמְצְאוּן אֹתוֹ

וַיַּעֲלוּ הָעִיר הֵמָּה בָּאִים בְּתוֹךְ הָעִיר וְהִנֵּה שְׁמוּאֵל יֹצֵא לִקְרָאתָם לַעֲלוֹת הַבָּמָה ס

 9:14 waYaálû häiyr hëMäh Bäiym B'tôkh' häiyr w'hiNëh sh'mûël yotzë liq'rätäm laálôt haBämäh š

 9:14 And they went up 5927 z8799 into y8432 the city: 5892 [and] when they x1992 were come 935 z8802 into x8432 the city, 5892 behold, x2009 Šæmû´ël שְׁמוּאֵל 8050 came out 3318 z8802 against 7125 z8800 them, for to go up 5927 z8800 to the high place. 1116

וַיהוָה גָּלָה אֶת־אֹזֶן שְׁמוּאֵל יוֹם אֶחָד לִפְנֵי בוֹא־שָׁאוּל לֵאמֹר

כָּעֵת מָחָר אֶשְׁלַח אֵלֶיךָ אִישׁ מֵאֶרֶץ בִּנְיָמִן וּמְשַׁחְתּוֹ לְנָגִיד עַל־עַמִּי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְהוֹשִׁיעַ אֶת־עַמִּי מִיַּד פְּלִשְׁתִּים כִּי רָאִיתִי אֶת־עַמִּי כִּי בָּאָה צַעֲקָתוֹ אֵלָי

וּשְׁמוּאֵל רָאָה אֶת־שָׁאוּל וַיהוָה עָנָהוּ הִנֵּה הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר אָמַרְתִּי אֵלֶיךָ זֶה יַעְצֹר בְּעַמִּי

וַיִּגַּשׁ שָׁאוּל אֶת־שְׁמוּאֵל בְּתוֹךְ הַשָּׁעַר וַיֹּאמֶר הַגִּידָה־נָּא לִי אֵי־זֶה בֵּית הָרֹאֶה

 9:18 waYiGash shäûl et-sh'mûël B'tôkh' haSHäar waYomer haGiydäh-Nä liy ëy-zeh Bëyt häroeh

 9:18 Then Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 drew near 5066 z8799 to x853 Šæmû´ël שְׁמוּאֵל 8050 in 8432 the gate, 8179 and said, 559 z8799 Tell 5046 z8685 me, I pray thee, x4994 where 335 x2088 the seer's 7200 z8802 house 1004 [is].

וַיַּעַן שְׁמוּאֵל אֶת־שָׁאוּל וַיֹּאמֶר אָנֹכִי הָרֹאֶה עֲלֵה לְפָנַי הַבָּמָה וַאֲכַלְתֶּם עִמִּי הַיּוֹם וְשִׁלַּחְתִּיךָ בַבֹּקֶר וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר בִּלְבָבְךָ אַגִּיד לָךְ

 9:19 And Šæmû´ël שְׁמוּאֵל 8050 answered 6030 z8799 x853 Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל, 7586 and said, 559 z8799 I x595 [am] the seer: 7200 z8802 go up 5927 z8798 before 6440 me unto the high place; 1116 for ye shall eat 398 z8804 with x5973 me to day, 3117 and to morrow 1242 I will let thee go, 7971 z8765 and will tell 5046 z8686 thee all x3605 that x834 [is] in thine heart. 3824

וְלָאֲתֹנוֹת הָאֹבְדוֹת לְךָ הַיּוֹם שְׁלֹשֶׁת הַיָּמִים אַל־תָּשֶׂם אֶת־לִבְּךָ לָהֶם כִּי נִמְצָאוּ וּלְמִי כָּל־חֶמְדַּת יִשְׂרָאֵל הֲלוֹא לְךָ וּלְכֹל בֵּית אָבִיךָ ס

 9:20 And as for thine asses 860 that were lost 6 z8802 three 7969 days 3117 ago, 3117 set 7760 z8799 not x408 x853 thy mind 3820 on them; for x3588 they are found. 4672 z8738 And on whom x4310 [is] all x3605 the desire 2532 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל? 3478 [Is it] not x3808 on thee, and on all x3605 thy father's 1 house? 1004

וַיַּעַן שָׁאוּל וַיֹּאמֶר הֲלוֹא בֶן־יְמִינִי אָנֹכִי מִקַּטַנֵּי שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וּמִשְׁפַּחְתִּי הַצְּעִרָה מִכָּל־מִשְׁפְּחוֹת שִׁבְטֵי בִנְיָמִן וְלָמָּה דִּבַּרְתָּ אֵלַי כַּדָּבָר הַזֶּה ס

 9:21 And Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 answered 6030 z8799 and said, 559 z8799 [Am] not x3808 I x595 a Benyæmînî בֶּניְמִינִי, 1145 of the smallest 6996 x4480 of the tribes 7626 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל? 3478 and my family 4940 the least 6810 of all x4480 x3605 the families 4940 of the tribe 7626 of Binyämîn בִּניָמִין? 1144 wherefore x4100 then speakest 1696 z8765 thou so 1697 x2088 to x413 me?

וַיִּקַּח שְׁמוּאֵל אֶת־שָׁאוּל וְאֶת־נַעֲרוֹ וַיְבִיאֵם לִשְׁכָּתָה וַיִּתֵּן לָהֶם מָקוֹם בְּרֹאשׁ הַקְּרוּאִים וְהֵמָּה כִּשְׁלֹשִׁים אִישׁ

 9:22 And Šæmû´ël שְׁמוּאֵל 8050 took 3947 z8799 x853 Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 and his servant, 5288 and brought 935 z8686 them into the parlour, 3957 and made them sit 5414 z8799 in the chiefest 7218 place 4725 among them that were bidden, 7121 z8803 which x1992 [were] about thirty 7970 persons. 376

וַיֹּאמֶר שְׁמוּאֵל לַטַּבָּח תְּנָה אֶת־הַמָּנָה אֲשֶׁר נָתַתִּי לָךְ אֲשֶׁר אָמַרְתִּי אֵלֶיךָ שִׂים אֹתָהּ עִמָּךְ

 9:23 And Šæmû´ël שְׁמוּאֵל 8050 said 559 z8799 unto the cook, 2876 Bring 5414 z8798 x853 the portion 4490 which x834 I gave 5414 z8804 thee, of which x834 I said 559 z8804 unto x413 thee, Set 7760 z8798 it by x5973 thee.

וַיָּרֶם הַטַּבָּח אֶת־הַשּׁוֹק וְהֶעָלֶיהָ וַיָּשֶׂם לִפְנֵי שָׁאוּל וַיֹּאמֶר הִנֵּה הַנִּשְׁאָר שִׂים־לְפָנֶיךָ אֱכֹל כִּי לַמּוֹעֵד שָׁמוּר־לְךָ לֵאמֹר הָעָם קָרָאתִי וַיֹּאכַל שָׁאוּל עִם־שְׁמוּאֵל בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא

וַיֵּרְדוּ מֵהַבָּמָה הָעִיר וַיְדַבֵּר עִם־שָׁאוּל עַל־הַגָּג

 9:25 waYër'dû mëhaBämäh häiyr way'daBër im-shäûl al-haGäg

 9:25 ¶ And when they were come down 3381 z8799 from the high place 1116 x4480 into the city, 5892 [Šæmû´ël שְׁמוּאֵל] communed 1696 z8762 with x5973 Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 upon x5921 the top of the house. 1406

וַיַּשְׁכִּמוּ וַיְהִי כַּעֲלוֹת הַשַּׁחַר וַיִּקְרָא שְׁמוּאֵל אֶל־שָׁאוּל *הַגָּג [הַגָּגָה] לֵאמֹר קוּמָה וַאֲשַׁלְּחֶךָּ וַיָּקָם שָׁאוּל וַיֵּצְאוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם הוּא וּשְׁמוּאֵל הַחוּצָה

 9:26 waYash'Kimû way'hiy Kaálôt haSHachar waYiq'rä sh'mûël el-shäûl *haGäg [haGägäh] lëmor qûmäh waáshaL'cheKä waYäqäm shäûl waYëtz'û sh'nëyhem hû ûsh'mûël hachûtzäh

 9:27 hëMäh yôr'diym Biq'tzëh häiyr ûsh'mûël ämar el-shäûl émor laNaar w'yaávor l'fänëynû waYaávor w'aTäh ámod KaYôm w'ash'miyákhä et-D'var élohiym f
