 11:1 waYaal nächäsh häaMôniy waYichan al-yävësh Gil'äd waYom'rû Käl-an'shëy yävëysh el-nächäsh K'rät-länû v'riyt w'naav'deKä

 11:1 ¶ Then Näçäš נָחָשׁ 5176 the `Ammônî עַמּוֹנִי 5984 came up, 5927 z8799 and encamped 2583 z8799 against x5921 Yävêš Gil`äđ יָבֵישׁ־גִּלעָד: 3003 1568 and all x3605 the men y582 x376 of Yävêš יָבֵישׁ 3003 said 559 z8799 unto x413 Näçäš נָחָשׁ, 5176 Make 3772 z8798 a covenant 1285 with us, and we will serve 5647 z8799 thee.

וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם נָחָשׁ הָעַמּוֹנִי בְּזֹאת אֶכְרֹת לָכֶם בִּנְקוֹר לָכֶם כָּל־עֵין יָמִין וְשַׂמְתִּיהָ חֶרְפָּה עַל־כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵל

 11:2 And Näçäš נָחָשׁ 5176 the `Ammônî עַמּוֹנִי 5984 answered 559 z8799 x413 them, On this 2063 [condition] will I make 3772 z8799 [a covenant] with you, that I may thrust out 5365 z8800 all x3605 your right 3225 eyes, 5869 and lay 7760 z8804 it [for] a reproach 2781 upon x5921 all x3605 Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל. 3478

וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו זִקְנֵי יָבֵישׁ הֶרֶף לָנוּ שִׁבְעַת יָמִים וְנִשְׁלְחָה מַלְאָכִים בְּכֹל גְּבוּל יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאִם־אֵין מוֹשִׁיעַ אֹתָנוּ וְיָצָאנוּ אֵלֶיךָ

 11:3 waYom'rû ëläyw ziq'nëy yävëysh heref länû shiv'at yämiym w'nish'l'chäh mal'äkhiym B'khol G'vûl yis'räël w'im-ëyn môshiyª otänû w'yätzänû ëleykhä

 11:3 And the elders 2205 of Yävêš יָבֵישׁ 3003 said 559 z8799 unto x413 him, Give us seven 7651 days' 3117 respite, 7503 z8685 that we may send 7971 z8799 messengers 4397 unto all x3605 the coasts 1366 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל: 3478 and then, if x518 [there be] no man x369 to save 3467 z8688 us, we will come out 3318 z8804 to x413 thee.

וַיָּבֹאוּ הַמַּלְאָכִים גִּבְעַת שָׁאוּל וַיְדַבְּרוּ הַדְּבָרִים בְּאָזְנֵי הָעָם וַיִּשְׂאוּ כָל־הָעָם אֶת־קוֹלָם וַיִּבְכּוּ

 11:4 waYävoû haMal'äkhiym Giv'at shäûl way'daB'rû haD'väriym B'äz'nëy hääm waYis'û khäl-hääm et-qôläm waYiv'Kû

 11:4 ¶ Then came 935 z8799 the messengers 4397 to Giv`à גִּבעָה 1390 of Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל, 7586 and told 1696 z8762 the tidings 1697 in the ears 241 of the people: 5971 and all x3605 the people 5971 lifted up 5375 z8799 x853 their voices, 6963 and wept. 1058 z8799

וְהִנֵּה שָׁאוּל בָּא אַחֲרֵי הַבָּקָר מִן־הַשָּׂדֶה וַיֹּאמֶר שָׁאוּל מַה־לָּעָם כִּי יִבְכּוּ וַיְסַפְּרוּ־לוֹ אֶת־דִּבְרֵי אַנְשֵׁי יָבֵישׁ

 11:5 And, behold, x2009 Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 came 935 z8804 after 310 the herd 1241 out of x4480 the field; 7704 and Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 said, 559 z8799 What x4100 [aileth] the people 5971 that x3588 they weep? 1058 z8799 And they told 5608 z8762 him x853 the tidings 1697 of the men y582 x376 of Yävêš יָבֵישׁ. 3003

וַתִּצְלַח רוּחַ־אֱלֹהִים עַל־שָׁאוּל *בְּשָׁמְעוֹ [כְּשָׁמְעוֹ] אֶת־הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וַיִּחַר אַפּוֹ מְאֹד

 11:6 waTitz'lach rûªch-élohiym al-shäûl *B'shäm'ô [K'shäm'ô] et-haD'väriym häëLeh waYichar aPô m'od

 11:6 And the Spirit 7307 of ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 came 6743 z8799 upon x5921 Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 when he heard 8085 z8800 x853 those x428 tidings, 1697 and his anger 639 was kindled 2734 z8799 greatly. 3966

וַיִּפְקְדֵם בְּבָזֶק וַיִּהְיוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת אֶלֶף וְאִישׁ יְהוּדָה שְׁלֹשִׁים אָלֶף

 11:8 waYif'q'dëm B'väzeq waYih'yû v'nëy-yis'räël sh'losh mëôt elef w'iysh y'hûdäh sh'loshiym älef

 11:8 And when he numbered 6485 z8799 them in Bezek בֶּזֶק, 966 the children 1121 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 were x1961 three 7969 hundred 3967 thousand, 505 and the men 376 of Yæhûđà יְהוּדָה 3063 thirty 7970 thousand. 505

וַיֹּאמְרוּ לַמַּלְאָכִים הַבָּאִים כֹּה תֹאמְרוּן לְאִישׁ יָבֵישׁ גִּלְעָד מָחָר תִּהְיֶה־לָכֶם תְּשׁוּעָה *בְּחֹם [כְּחֹם] הַשָּׁמֶשׁ וַיָּבֹאוּ הַמַּלְאָכִים וַיַּגִּידוּ לְאַנְשֵׁי יָבֵישׁ וַיִּשְׂמָחוּ

 11:9 waYom'rû laMal'äkhiym haBäiym Koh tom'rûn l'iysh yävëysh Gil'äd mächär Tih'yeh-läkhem T'shûäh *B'chom [K'chom] haSHämesh waYävoû haMal'äkhiym waYaGiydû l'an'shëy yävëysh waYis'mächû

 11:9 And they said 559 z8799 unto the messengers 4397 that came, 935 z8802 Thus x3541 shall ye say 559 z8799 unto the men 376 of Yävêš Gil`äđ יָבֵישׁ־גִּלעָד, 3003 1568 To morrow, 4279 by [that time] the sun 8121 be hot, 2527 ye shall have x1961 help. 8668 And the messengers 4397 came 935 z8799 and shewed 5046 z8686 [it] to the men y582 x376 of Yävêš יָבֵישׁ; 3003 and they were glad. 8055 z8799

 11:10 Therefore the men y582 x376 of Yävêš יָבֵישׁ 3003 said, 559 z8799 To morrow 4279 we will come out 3318 z8799 unto x413 you, and ye shall do 6213 z8804 with us all x3605 that seemeth 5869 good 2896 unto you.

וַיְהִי מִמָּחֳרָת וַיָּשֶׂם שָׁאוּל אֶת־הָעָם שְׁלֹשָׁה רָאשִׁים וַיָּבֹאוּ בְתוֹךְ־הַמַּחֲנֶה בְּאַשְׁמֹרֶת הַבֹּקֶר וַיַּכּוּ אֶת־עַמּוֹן עַד־חֹם הַיּוֹם וַיְהִי הַנִּשְׁאָרִים וַיָּפֻצוּ וְלֹא נִשְׁאֲרוּ־בָם שְׁנַיִם יָחַד

וַיֹּאמֶר הָעָם אֶל־שְׁמוּאֵל מִי הָאֹמֵר שָׁאוּל יִמְלֹךְ עָלֵינוּ תְּנוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים וּנְמִיתֵם

 11:12 waYomer hääm el-sh'mûël miy häomër shäûl yim'lokh' älëynû T'nû häánäshiym ûn'miytëm

 11:12 ¶ And the people 5971 said 559 z8799 unto x413 Šæmû´ël שְׁמוּאֵל, 8050 Who x4310 [is] he that said, 559 z8802 Shall Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 reign 4427 z8799 over x5921 us? bring 5414 z8798 the men, y582 x376 that we may put them to death. 4191 z8686

וַיֹּאמֶר שָׁאוּל לֹא־יוּמַת אִישׁ בַּיּוֹם הַזֶּה כִּי הַיּוֹם עָשָׂה־יְהוָה תְּשׁוּעָה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל ס

 11:13 waYomer shäûl lo-yûmat iysh BaYôm haZeh Kiy haYôm äsäh-y'hwäh T'shûäh B'yis'räël š

 11:13 And Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 said, 559 z8799 There shall not x3808 a man 376 be put to death 4191 z8714 this x2088 day: 3117 for x3588 to day 3117 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 hath wrought 6213 z8804 salvation 8668 in Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל. 3478

וַיֹּאמֶר שְׁמוּאֵל אֶל־הָעָם לְכוּ וְנֵלְכָה הַגִּלְגָּל וּנְחַדֵּשׁ שָׁם הַמְּלוּכָה

 11:14 waYomer sh'mûël el-hääm l'khû w'nël'khäh haGil'Gäl ûn'chaDësh shäm haM'lûkhäh

 11:14 Then said 559 z8799 Šæmû´ël שְׁמוּאֵל 8050 to x413 the people, 5971 Come, y3212 z8798 x1980 and let us go y3212 z8799 x1980 to Gilgäl גִּלגָּל, 1537 and renew 2318 z8762 the kingdom 4410 there. x8033

וַיֵּלְכוּ כָל־הָעָם הַגִּלְגָּל וַיַּמְלִכוּ שָׁם אֶת־שָׁאוּל לִפְנֵי יְהוָה בַּגִּלְגָּל וַיִּזְבְּחוּ־שָׁם זְבָחִים שְׁלָמִים לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וַיִּשְׂמַח שָׁם שָׁאוּל וְכָל־אַנְשֵׁי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַד־מְאֹד פ

 11:15 And all x3605 the people 5971 went y3212 z8799 x1980 to Gilgäl גִּלגָּל; 1537 and there x8033 they made Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל y7586 king 4427 z8686 x853 x7586 before 6440 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 in Gilgäl גִּלגָּל; 1537 and there x8033 they sacrificed 2076 z8799 sacrifices 2077 of peace offerings 8002 before 6440 Yähwè יָהוֶה; 3068 and there x8033 Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 and all x3605 the men y582 x376 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 rejoiced 8055 z8799 greatly. 3966
