 21:1 waYävo däwid noveh el-áchiymelekh' haKohën waYechérad áchiymelekh' liq'rat Däwid waYomer lô maDûª aTäh l'vaDekhä w'iysh ëyn iTäkh'

 21:1 ¶ Then came 935 z8799 Däwiđ דָּוִד 1732 to Növ נֹב 5011 to x413 ´Áçîmeleȼ אֲחִימֶלֶך 288 the priest: 3548 and ´Áçîmeleȼ אֲחִימֶלֶך 288 was afraid 2729 z8799 at the meeting 7125 z8800 of Däwiđ דָּוִד, 1732 and said 559 z8799 unto him, Why x4069 [art] thou x859 alone, x905 and no x369 man 376 with x854 thee?

וַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִד לַאֲחִימֶלֶךְ הַכֹּהֵן הַמֶּלֶךְ צִוַּנִי דָבָר וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלַי אִישׁ אַל־יֵדַע מְאוּמָה אֶת־הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר־אָנֹכִי שֹׁלֵחֲךָ וַאֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִךָ וְאֶת־הַנְּעָרִים יוֹדַעְתִּי אֶל־מְקוֹם פְּלֹנִי אַלְמוֹנִי

 21:2 waYomer Däwid laáchiymelekh' haKohën haMelekh' tziûaniy dävär waYomer ëlay iysh al-yëda m'ûmäh et-haDävär ásher-änokhiy sholëchákhä waásher tziûiytikhä w'et-haN'äriym yôda'Tiy el-m'qôm P'loniy al'môniy

 21:2 And Däwiđ דָּוִד 1732 said 559 z8799 unto ´Áçîmeleȼ אֲחִימֶלֶך 288 the priest, 3548 The king 4428 hath commanded 6680 z8765 me a business, 1697 and hath said 559 z8799 unto x413 me, Let no x408 man 376 know 3045 z8799 any thing 3972 of x853 the business 1697 whereabout x834 I x595 send 7971 z8802 thee, and what x834 I have commanded 6680 z8765 thee: and I have appointed 3045 z8776 [my] servants 5288 to x413 such 6423 and such 492 a place. 4725

וְעַתָּה מַה־יֵּשׁ תַּחַת־יָדְךָ חֲמִשָּׁה־לֶחֶם תְּנָה בְיָדִי אוֹ הַנִּמְצָא

 21:3 w'aTäh mah-Yësh Tachat-yäd'khä chámiSHäh-lechem T'näh v'yädiy ô haNim'tzä

 21:3 Now x6258 therefore what x4100 is 3426 under x8478 thine hand? 3027 give 5414 z8798 [me] five 2568 [loaves of] bread 3899 in mine hand, 3027 or x176 what there is present. 4672 z8737

וַיַּעַן הַכֹּהֵן אֶת־דָּוִד וַיֹּאמֶר אֵין־לֶחֶם חֹל אֶל־תַּחַת יָדִי כִּי־אִם־לֶחֶם קֹדֶשׁ יֵשׁ אִם־נִשְׁמְרוּ הַנְּעָרִים אַךְ מֵאִשָּׁה פ

 21:4 waYaan haKohën et-Däwid waYomer ëyn-lechem chol el-Tachat yädiy Kiy-im-lechem qodesh yësh im-nish'm'rû haN'äriym akh' mëiSHäh f

 21:4 And the priest 3548 answered 6030 z8799 x853 Däwiđ דָּוִד, 1732 and said, 559 z8799 [There is] no x369 common 2455 bread 3899 under x413 x8478 mine hand, 3027 but x3588 x518 there is 3426 hallowed 6944 bread; 3899 if x518 the young men 5288 have kept y8104 z8738 themselves x8104 at least 389 from women. 802 x4480

וַיַּעַן דָּוִד אֶת־הַכֹּהֵן וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ כִּי אִם־אִשָּׁה עֲצֻרָה־לָנוּ כִּתְמוֹל שִׁלְשֹׁם בְּצֵאתִי וַיִּהְיוּ כְלֵי־הַנְּעָרִים קֹדֶשׁ וְהוּא דֶּרֶךְ חֹל וְאַף כִּי הַיּוֹם יִקְדַּשׁ בַּכֶּלִי

 21:5 waYaan Däwid et-haKohën waYomer lô Kiy im-iSHäh átzuräh-länû Kit'môl shil'shom B'tzëtiy waYih'yû kh'lëy-haN'äriym qodesh w'hû Derekh' chol w'af Kiy haYôm yiq'Dash BaKeliy

 21:5 And Däwiđ דָּוִד 1732 answered 6030 z8799 x853 the priest, 3548 and said 559 z8799 unto him, Of x3588 x518 a truth y518 women 802 [have been] kept 6113 z8803 from us about these three 8032 days, 8543 since I came out, 3318 z8800 and the vessels 3627 of the young men 5288 are holy, 6944 and [the bread is] in a manner 1870 common, 2455 yea, x637 though x3588 it were sanctified 6942 z8799 this day 3117 in the vessel. 3627

וַיִּתֶּן־לוֹ הַכֹּהֵן קֹדֶשׁ כִּי לֹא־הָיָה שָׁם לֶחֶם כִּי־אִם־לֶחֶם הַפָּנִים הַמּוּסָרִים מִלִּפְנֵי יְהוָה לָשׂוּם לֶחֶם חֹם בְּיוֹם הִלָּקְחוֹ

 21:6 waYiTen-lô haKohën qodesh Kiy lo-häyäh shäm lechem Kiy-im-lechem haPäniym haMûšäriym miLif'nëy y'hwäh läsûm lechem chom B'yôm hiLäq'chô

 21:6 So the priest 3548 gave 5414 z8799 him hallowed 6944 [bread]: for x3588 there was x1961 no x3808 bread 3899 there x8033 but x3588 x518 the shewbread, 3899 6440 that was taken 5493 z8716 from before 6440 x4480 Yähwè יָהוֶה, 3068 to put 7760 z8800 hot 2527 bread 3899 in the day 3117 when it was taken away. 3947 z8736

וְשָׁם אִישׁ מֵעַבְדֵי שָׁאוּל בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא נֶעְצָר לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וּשְׁמוֹ דֹּאֵג הָאֲדֹמִי אַבִּיר הָרֹעִים אֲשֶׁר לְשָׁאוּל

וַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִד לַאֲחִימֶלֶךְ וְאִין יֶשׁ־פֹּה תַחַת־יָדְךָ חֲנִית אוֹ־חָרֶב כִּי גַם־חַרְבִּי וְגַם־כֵּלַי לֹא־לָקַחְתִּי בְיָדִי כִּי־הָיָה דְבַר־הַמֶּלֶךְ נָחוּץ ס

 21:8 ¶ And Däwiđ דָּוִד 1732 said 559 z8799 unto ´Áçîmeleȼ אֲחִימֶלֶך, 288 And is there 3426 not 371 here x6311 under x8478 thine hand 3027 spear 2595 or x176 sword? 2719 for x3588 I have neither x1571 x3808 brought 3947 z8804 my sword 2719 nor x1571 my weapons 3627 with x3027 me, y3027 because x3588 the king's 4428 business 1697 required 1961 z8804 haste. 5169 z8803

וַיֹּאמֶר הַכֹּהֵן חֶרֶב גָּלְיָת הַפְּלִשְׁתִּי אֲשֶׁר־הִכִּיתָ בְּעֵמֶק הָאֵלָה הִנֵּה־הִיא לוּטָה בַשִּׂמְלָה אַחֲרֵי הָאֵפוֹד אִם־אֹתָהּ תִּקַּח־לְךָ קָח כִּי אֵין אַחֶרֶת זוּלָתָהּ בָּזֶה וַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִד אֵין כָּמוֹהָ תְּנֶנָּה לִּי

 21:9 And the priest 3548 said, 559 z8799 The sword 2719 of Golyäŧ גָּליָת 1555 the Pælištî פְּלִשׁתִּי, 6430 whom x834 thou slewest 5221 z8689 in the valley 6010 of ´Ëlà אֵלָה, 425 behold, x2009 it x1931 [is here] wrapped 3874 z8803 in a cloth 8071 behind 310 the ephod: 646 if x518 thou wilt take 3947 z8799 that, take 3947 z8798 [it]: for x3588 [there is] no x369 other 312 save 2108 that here. 2088 And Däwiđ דָּוִד 1732 said, 559 z8799 [There is] none x369 like that; give 5414 z8798 it me.

וַיָּקָם דָּוִד וַיִּבְרַח בַּיּוֹם־הַהוּא מִפְּנֵי שָׁאוּל וַיָּבֹא אֶל־אָכִישׁ מֶלֶךְ גַּת

וַיֹּאמְרוּ עַבְדֵי אָכִישׁ אֵלָיו הֲלוֹא־זֶה דָוִד מֶלֶךְ הָאָרֶץ הֲלוֹא לָזֶה יַעֲנוּ בַמְּחֹלוֹת לֵאמֹר הִכָּה שָׁאוּל *בַּאֲלָפוֹ [בַּאֲלָפָיו] וְדָוִד *בְּרִבְבֹתוֹ [בְּרִבְבֹתָיו]

 21:11 waYom'rû av'dëy äkhiysh ëläyw hálô-zeh däwid melekh' hääretz hálô läzeh yaánû vaM'cholôt lëmor hiKäh shäûl *Baáläfô [Baáläfäyw] w'däwid *B'riv'votô [B'riv'votäyw]

 21:11 And the servants 5650 of ´Äȼîš אָכִישׁ 397 said 559 z8799 unto x413 him, [Is] not x3808 this x2088 Däwiđ דָּוִד 1732 the king 4428 of the land? 776 did they not x3808 sing y6030 z8799 one to another x6030 of him 2088 in dances, 4246 saying, 559 z8800 Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 hath slain 5221 z8689 his thousands, 505 and Däwiđ דָּוִד 1732 his ten thousands? 7233

וַיָּשֶׂם דָּוִד אֶת־הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה בִּלְבָבוֹ וַיִּרָא מְאֹד מִפְּנֵי אָכִישׁ מֶלֶךְ־גַּת

 21:12 waYäsem Däwid et-haD'väriym häëLeh Bil'vävô waYirä m'od miP'nëy äkhiysh melekh'-Gat

 21:12 And Däwiđ דָּוִד 1732 laid up 7760 z8799 x853 these x428 words 1697 in his heart, 3824 and was sore 3966 afraid 3372 z8799 of 6440 x4480 ´Äȼîš אָכִישׁ 397 the king 4428 of Gaŧ גַּת. 1661

וַיְשַׁנּוֹ אֶת־טַעְמוֹ בְּעֵינֵיהֶם וַיִּתְהֹלֵל בְּיָדָם *וַיְתַו [וַיְתָיו] עַל־דַּלְתוֹת הַשַּׁעַר וַיּוֹרֶד רִירוֹ אֶל־זְקָנוֹ

וַיֹּאמֶר אָכִישׁ אֶל־עֲבָדָיו הִנֵּה תִרְאוּ אִישׁ מִשְׁתַּגֵּעַ לָמָּה תָּבִיאוּ אֹתוֹ אֵלָי

 21:14 Then said 559 z8799 ´Äȼîš אָכִישׁ 397 unto x413 his servants, 5650 Lo, x2009 ye see 7200 z8799 the man 376 is mad: 7696 z8693 wherefore x4100 [then] have ye brought 935 z8686 him to x413 me?

חֲסַר מְשֻׁגָּעִים אָנִי כִּי־הֲבֵאתֶם אֶת־זֶה לְהִשְׁתַּגֵּעַ עָלָי הֲזֶה יָבוֹא אֶל־בֵּיתִי ס
