 10:1 ¶ Now the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים 6430 fought 3898 z8738 against Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל; 3478 and the men 376 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 fled 5127 z8799 from before 6440 x4480 the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים, 6430 and fell down 5307 z8799 slain 2491 in mount 2022 Gilböå` גִּלבֹּעַ. 1533

וַיַּדְבְּקוּ פְלִשְׁתִּים אַחֲרֵי שָׁאוּל וְאַחֲרֵי בָנָיו וַיַּכּוּ פְלִשְׁתִּים אֶת־יוֹנָתָן וְאֶת־אֲבִינָדָב וְאֶת־מַלְכִּי־שׁוּעַ בְּנֵי שָׁאוּל

 10:2 waYad'B'qû f'lish'Tiym achárëy shäûl w'achárëy vänäyw waYaKû f'lish'Tiym et-yônätän w'et-áviynädäv w'et-mal'Kiy-shûª B'nëy shäûl

 10:2 And the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים 6430 followed hard 1692 z8686 after 310 Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל, 7586 and after 310 his sons; 1121 and the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים 6430 slew 5221 z8686 x853 Yæhônäŧän יְהוֹנָתָן, 3129 and ´Ávînäđäv אֲבִינָדָב, 41 and Malcî Šûå` מַלכִּי־שׁוּעַ, 4444 the sons 1121 of Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל. 7586

וַתִּכְבַּד הַמִּלְחָמָה עַל־שָׁאוּל וַיִּמְצָאֻהוּ הַמּוֹרִים בַּקָּשֶׁת וַיָּחֶל מִן־הַיּוֹרִים

 10:3 waTikh'Bad haMil'chämäh al-shäûl waYim'tzäuhû haMôriym BaQäshet waYächel min-haYôriym

וַיֹּאמֶר שָׁאוּל אֶל־נֹשֵׂא כֵלָיו שְׁלֹף חַרְבְּךָ וְדָקְרֵנִי בָהּ פֶּן־יָבֹאוּ הָעֲרֵלִים הָאֵלֶּה וְהִתְעַלְּלוּ־בִי וְלֹא אָבָה נֹשֵׂא כֵלָיו כִּי יָרֵא מְאֹד ס וַיִּקַּח שָׁאוּל אֶת־הַחֶרֶב וַיִּפֹּל עָלֶיהָ

 10:4 Then said 559 z8799 Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 to x413 his armourbearer, 5375 3627 z8802 Draw 8025 z8798 thy sword, 2719 and thrust y1856 z8798 me through x1856 therewith; lest x6435 these x428 uncircumcised 6189 come 935 z8799 and abuse 5953 z8694 me. But his armourbearer 5375 3627 z8802 would 14 z8804 not; x3808 for x3588 he was sore y3966 afraid. 3372 z8804 x3966 So Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 took 3947 z8799 x853 a sword, 2719 and fell 5307 z8799 upon x5921 it.

וַיַּרְא נֹשֵׂא־כֵלָיו כִּי מֵת שָׁאוּל וַיִּפֹּל גַּם־הוּא עַל־הַחֶרֶב וַיָּמֹת ס

וַיָּמָת שָׁאוּל וּשְׁלֹשֶׁת בָּנָיו וְכָל־בֵּיתוֹ יַחְדָּו מֵתוּ

וַיִּרְאוּ כָּל־אִישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר־בָּעֵמֶק כִּי נָסוּ וְכִי־מֵתוּ שָׁאוּל וּבָנָיו וַיַּעַזְבוּ עָרֵיהֶם וַיָּנֻסוּ וַיָּבֹאוּ פְלִשְׁתִּים וַיֵּשְׁבוּ בָּהֶם ס

וַיְהִי מִמָּחֳרָת וַיָּבֹאוּ פְלִשְׁתִּים לְפַשֵּׁט אֶת־הַחֲלָלִים וַיִּמְצְאוּ אֶת־שָׁאוּל וְאֶת־בָּנָיו נֹפְלִים בְּהַר גִּלְבֹּעַ

וַיַּפְשִׁיטֻהוּ וַיִּשְׂאוּ אֶת־רֹאשׁוֹ וְאֶת־כֵּלָיו וַיְשַׁלְּחוּ בְאֶרֶץ־פְלִשְׁתִּים סָבִיב לְבַשֵּׂר אֶת־עֲצַבֵּיהֶם וְאֶת־הָעָם

 10:9 waYaf'shiyţuhû waYis'û et-roshô w'et-Këläyw way'shaL'chû v'eretz-f'lish'Tiym šäviyv l'vaSër et-átzaBëyhem w'et-hääm

 10:9 And when they had stripped 6584 z8686 him, they took 5375 z8799 x853 his head, 7218 and his armour, 3627 and sent 7971 z8762 into the land 776 of the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים 6430 round about, 5439 to carry tidings 1319 z8763 x853 unto their idols, 6091 and to the people. 5971

וַיָּשִׂימוּ אֶת־כֵּלָיו בֵּית אֱלֹהֵיהֶם וְאֶת־גֻּלְגָּלְתּוֹ תָקְעוּ בֵּית דָּגוֹן ס

וַיָּקוּמוּ כָּל־אִישׁ חַיִל וַיִּשְׂאוּ אֶת־גּוּפַת שָׁאוּל וְאֵת גּוּפֹת בָּנָיו וַיְבִיאוּם יָבֵישָׁה וַיִּקְבְּרוּ אֶת־עַצְמוֹתֵיהֶם תַּחַת הָאֵלָה בְּיָבֵשׁ וַיָּצוּמוּ שִׁבְעַת יָמִים

 10:12 waYäqûmû Käl-iysh chayil waYis'û et-Gûfat shäûl w'ët Gûfot Bänäyw way'viyûm yävëyshäh waYiq'B'rû et-atz'môtëyhem Tachat häëläh B'yävësh waYätzûmû shiv'at yämiym

 10:12 They arose, 6965 z8799 all x3605 the valiant 2428 men, 376 and took away 5375 z8799 x853 the body 1480 of Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל, 7586 and the bodies 1480 of his sons, 1121 and brought 935 z8686 them to Yävêš יָבֵישׁ, 3003 and buried 6912 z8799 x853 their bones 6106 under x8478 the oak 424 in Yävêš יָבֵישׁ, 3003 and fasted 6684 z8799 seven 7651 days. 3117

וַיָּמָת שָׁאוּל בְּמַעֲלוֹ אֲשֶׁר מָעַל בַּיהוָה עַל־דְּבַר יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר לֹא־שָׁמָר וְגַם־לִשְׁאוֹל בָּאוֹב לִדְרוֹשׁ

 10:13 waYämät shäûl B'maálô ásher mäal Bayhwäh al-D'var y'hwäh ásher lo-shämär w'gam-lish'ôl Bäôv lid'rôsh

 10:13 ¶ So Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 died 4191 z8799 for his transgression 4604 which x834 he committed 4603 z8804 against Yähwè יָהוֶה, 3068 [even] against x5921 the word 1697 of Yähwè יָהוֶה, 3068 which x834 he kept 8104 z8804 not, x3808 and also x1571 for asking 7592 z8800 [counsel] of [one that had] a familiar spirit, 178 to enquire 1875 z8800 [of it];

וְלֹא־דָרַשׁ בַּיהוָה וַיְמִיתֵהוּ וַיַּסֵּב אֶת־הַמְּלוּכָה לְדָוִיד בֶּן־יִשָׁי פ
