Ezekiel 8

1 Ezekiel, in a vision of God at Jerusalem, 5 is shewed the image of jealousy, 7 the chambers of imagery, 13 the mourners for Tammuz, 15 the worshippers toward the sun. 18 God's wrath for their idolatry.

 8:1 It came 1961 about in the sixth 8345 year 8141, on the fifth 2568 [day] of the sixth 8345 month 2320, as I was sitting 3427 in my house 1004 with the elders 2205 of Judah 3063 sitting 3427 before 6440 me, that the hand 3027 of the Lord 136 GOD 3068 fell 5307 on me there 8033.

 8:2 Then I looked 7200, and behold 2009, a likeness 1823 as the appearance 4758 of a man 784; from His loins 4975 and downward 4295 [there was] the appearance 4758 of fire 784, and from His loins 4975 and upward 4605 the appearance 4758 of brightness 2096, like the appearance 5869 of glowing 2830 metal 2830.

 8:3 He stretched 7971 out the form 8403 of a hand 3027 and caught 3947 me by a lock 6734 of my head 7218; and the Spirit 7307 lifted 5375 me up between 996 earth 776 and heaven 8064 and brought 935 me in the visions 4759a of God 430 to Jerusalem 3389, to the entrance 6607 of the north 6828 gate 8179 of the inner 6442 [court], where 834 8033 the seat 4186 of the idol 5566 of jealousy 7068, which 834 provokes 7065 to jealousy 7065, was [located].

 8:4 And behold 2009, the glory 3519b of the God 430 of Israel 3478 [was] there 8033, like the appearance 4758 which 834 I saw 7200 in the plain 1237.

 8:5 ¶ Then He said 559 to me, “Son 1121 of man 120, raise 5375 your eyes 5869 now 4994 toward 1870 the north 6828.” So I raised 5375 my eyes 5869 toward 1870 the north 6828, and behold 2009, to the north 6828 of the altar 4196 gate 8179 [was] this 2088 idol 5566 of jealousy 7068 at the entrance 872.

 8:6 And He said 559 to me, “Son 1121 of man 120, do 6213a you see 7200 what 4100 they are doing 6213a, the great 1419 abominations 8441 which 834 the house 1004 of Israel 3478 are committing 6213a here 6311, so that I would be far 7368 from My sanctuary 4720? But yet 5750 you will see 7200 still 7725 greater 1419 abominations 8441.”

 8:7 ¶ Then He brought 935 me to the entrance 6607 of the court 2691a, and when I looked 7200, behold 2009, a hole 2356 in the wall 7023.

 8:8 He said 559 to me, “Son 1121 of man 120, now 4994 dig 2864 through the wall 7023.” So I dug 2864 through the wall 7023, and behold 2009, an entrance 6607.

 8:9 And He said 559 to me, “Go 935 in and see 7200 the wicked 7451a abominations 8441 that they are committing 6213a here 6311.”

 8:10 So I entered 935 and looked 7200, and behold 2009, every 3605 form 8403 of creeping 7431 things 7431 and beasts 929 [and] detestable 8263 things 8263, with all 3605 the idols 1544 of the house 1004 of Israel 3478, were carved 2707 on the wall 7023 all 5439 around 5439.

 8:11 Standing 5975 in front 6440 of them were seventy 7657 elders 2205 of the house 1004 of Israel 3478, with Jaazaniah 2970 the son 1121 of Shaphan 8227b standing 5975 among 8432 them, each 376 man 376 with his censer 4730 in his hand 3027 and the fragrance 6282b of the cloud 6051 of incense 7004 rising 5927.

 8:12 Then He said 559 to me, “Son 1121 of man 120, do you see 7200 what 834 the elders 2205 of the house 1004 of Israel 3478 are committing 6213a in the dark 2822, each 376 man 376 in the room 2315 of his carved 4906 images 4906? For they say 559, ‘The LORD 3068 does not see 7200 us; the LORD 3068 has forsaken 5800a the land 776.’”

 8:13 And He said 559 to me, “Yet 5750 you will see 7200 still 7725 greater 1419 abominations 8441 which 834 they are committing 6213a.”

 8:14 ¶ Then He brought 935 me to the entrance 6607 of the gate 8179 of the LORD’S 3068 house 1004 which 834 [was] toward 413 the north 6828; and behold 2009, women 802 were sitting 3427 there 8033 weeping 1058 for Tammuz 8542.

 8:15 He said 559 to me, “Do you see 7200 [this], son 1121 of man 120? Yet 5750 you will see 7200 still 7725 greater 1419 abominations 8441 than 4480 these 428.”

 8:16 ¶ Then He brought 935 me into the inner 6442 court 2691a of the LORD’S 3068 house 1004. And behold 2009, at the entrance 6607 to the temple 1964 of the LORD 3068, between 996 the porch 197 and the altar 4196, [were] about twenty-five 6242 2568 men 376 with their backs 268 to the temple 1964 of the LORD 3068 and their faces 6440 toward the east 6924b; and they were prostrating 7812 themselves eastward 6924b toward the sun 8121.

 8:17 He said 559 to me, “Do you see 7200 [this], son 1121 of man 120? Is it too light 7043 a thing 7043 for the house 1004 of Judah 3063 to commit 6213a the abominations 8441 which 834 they have committed 6213a here 6311, that they have filled 4390 the land 776 with violence 2555 and provoked 3707 Me repeatedly 7725? For behold 2009, they are putting 7971 the twig 2156 to their nose 639.

 8:18 “Therefore, I indeed 1571 will deal 6213a in wrath 2534. My eye 5869 will have 2347 no 3808 pity 2347 nor 3808 will I spare 2550; and though they cry 7121 in My ears 241 with a loud 1419 voice 6963, yet I will not listen 8085 to them.”
