Ezekiel 44

1 The east gate assigned only to the prince. 4 The priests reproved for polluting of the sanctuary. 9 Idolaters uncapable of the priest's office. 15 The sons of Zadok are accepted thereto. 17 Ordinances for the priests.

 44:1 Then He brought 7725 me back 7725 by the way 1870 of the outer 2435 gate 8179 of the sanctuary 4720, which faces 6437 the east 6921; and it was shut 5462.

 44:2 The LORD 3068 said 559 to me, “This 2088 gate 8179 shall be shut 5462; it shall not be opened 6605a, and no 3808 one 376 shall enter 935 by it, for the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478 has entered 935 by it; therefore it shall be shut 5462.

 44:3 “As for the prince 5387a, he shall sit 3427 in it as prince 5387a to eat 398 bread 3899 before 6440 the LORD 3068; he shall enter 935 by way 1870 of the porch 197 of the gate 8179 and shall go 3318 out by the same way 1870.”

 44:4 ¶ Then He brought 935 me by way 1870 of the north 6828 gate 8179 to the front 6440 of the house 1004; and I looked 7200, and behold 2009, the glory 3519b of the LORD 3068 filled 4390 the house 1004 of the LORD 3068, and I fell 5307 on my face 6440.

 44:5 The LORD 3068 said 559 to me, “Son 1121 of man 120, mark 7760 well 3820, see 7200 with your eyes 5869 and hear 8085 with your ears 241 all 3605 that I say 1696 to you concerning all 3605 the statutes 2708 of the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 and concerning all 3605 its laws 8451; and mark 7760 well 3820 the entrance 3996 of the house 1004, with all 3605 exits 4161 of the sanctuary 4720.

 44:6 “You shall say 559 to the rebellious 4805 ones 4805, to the house 1004 of Israel 3478, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “Enough 7227a of all 3605 your abominations 8441, O house 1004 of Israel 3478,

 44:7 when you brought 935 in foreigners 1121 5236, uncircumcised 6189 in heart 3820 and uncircumcised 6189 in flesh 1320, to be in My sanctuary 4720 to profane 2490c it, [even] My house 1004, when you offered 7126 My food 3899, the fat 2459 and the blood 1818; for they made 6565a My covenant 1285 void 6565a—[this] in addition 413 to all 3605 your abominations 8441.

 44:8 “And you have not kept 8104 charge 4931 of My holy 6944 things 6944 yourselves, but you have set 7760 [foreigners] to keep 8104 charge 4931 of My sanctuary 4720.”

 44:9 ¶ ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “No 3605 3808 foreigner 1121 5236 uncircumcised 6189 in heart 3820 and uncircumcised 6189 in flesh 1320, of all 3605 the foreigners 1121 5236 who 834 are among 8432 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, shall enter 935 My sanctuary 4720.

 44:10 “But the Levites 3881 who 834 went 7368 far 7368 from Me when Israel 3478 went 8582 astray 8582, who 834 went 8582 astray 8582 from Me after 310 their idols 1544, shall bear 5375 the punishment 5771 for their iniquity 5771.

 44:11 “Yet they shall be ministers 8334 in My sanctuary 4720, having oversight 6486 at the gates 8179 of the house 1004 and ministering 8334 in the house 1004; they shall slaughter 7819 the burnt 5930a offering 5930a and the sacrifice 2077 for the people 5971a, and they shall stand 5975 before 6440 them to minister 8334 to them.

 44:12 “Because 3282 834 they ministered 8334 to them before 6440 their idols 1544 and became 1961 a stumbling 4383 block 4383 of iniquity 5771 to the house 1004 of Israel 3478, therefore 5921 3651 I have sworn 5375 3027 against 5921 them,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “that they shall bear 5375 [the punishment 5771 for] their iniquity 5771.

 44:13 “And they shall not come 5066 near 5066 to Me to serve 3547 as a priest 3547 to Me, nor 3808 come 5066 near 5066 to any 3605 of My holy 6944 things 6944, to the things 6944 that are most 6944 holy 6944; but they will bear 5375 their shame 3639 and their abominations 8441 which 834 they have committed 6213a.

 44:14 “Yet I will appoint 5414 them to keep 8104 charge 4931 of the house 1004, of all 3605 its service 5656 and of all 3605 that shall be done 6213a in it.

 44:15 ¶ “But the Levitical 3881 priests 3548, the sons 1121 of Zadok 6659, who 834 kept 8104 charge 4931 of My sanctuary 4720 when the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 went 8582 astray 8582 from Me, shall come 7126 near 7126 to Me to minister 8334 to Me; and they shall stand 5975 before 6440 Me to offer 7126 Me the fat 2459 and the blood 1818,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.

 44:16 “They shall enter 935 My sanctuary 4720; they shall come 7126 near 7126 to My table 7979 to minister 8334 to Me and keep 8104 My charge 4931.

 44:17 “It shall be that when they enter 935 at the gates 8179 of the inner 6442 court 2691a, they shall be clothed 3847 with linen 6593 garments 899b; and wool 6785 shall not be on them while they are ministering 8334 in the gates 8179 of the inner 6442 court 2691a and in the house 1004.

 44:18 “Linen 6593 turbans 6287b shall be on their heads 7218 and linen 6593 undergarments 4370 shall be on their loins 4975; they shall not gird 2296 themselves with [anything which makes them] sweat 3154.

 44:19 “When they go 3318 out into the outer 2435 court 2691a, into the outer 2435 court 2691a to the people 5971a, they shall put 6584 off 6584 their garments 899b in which 834 they have been ministering 8334 and lay 5117 them in the holy 6944 chambers 3957; then they shall put 3847 on other 312 garments 899b so 3808 that they will not transmit 6942 holiness 6942 to the people 5971a with their garments 899b.

 44:20 “Also they shall not shave 1548 their heads 7218, yet they shall not let their locks 6545 grow 7971 long 7971; they shall only 3697 trim 3697 [the hair of] their heads 7218.

 44:21 “Nor 3808 shall any 3605 of the priests 3548 drink 8354 wine 3196 when they enter 935 the inner 6442 court 2691a.

 44:22 “And they shall not marry 3947 a widow 490 or a divorced 1644 woman but shall take 3947 virgins 1330 from the offspring 2233 of the house 1004 of Israel 3478, or a widow 490 who 834 is the widow 490 of a priest 3548.

 44:23 “Moreover, they shall teach 3384 My people 5971a [the] [difference] between 996 the holy 6944 and the profane 2455, and cause them to discern 3045 between 996 the unclean 2931 and the clean 2889.

 44:24 “In a dispute 7379 they shall take 5975 their stand 5975 to judge 8199; they shall judge 8199 it according to My ordinances 4941. They shall also keep 8104 My laws 8451 and My statutes 2708 in all 3605 My appointed 4150 feasts 4150 and sanctify 6942 My sabbaths 7676.

 44:25 “They shall not go 935 to a dead 4191 person 120 to defile 2930 [themselves]; however 3588 518, for father 1, for mother 517, for son 1121, for daughter 1323, for brother 251, or for a sister 269 who 834 has not had 1961 a husband 376, they may defile 2930 themselves.

 44:26 “After 310 he is cleansed 2893, seven 7651 days 3117 shall elapse 5608 for him.

 44:27 “On the day 3117 that he goes 935 into the sanctuary 6944, into the inner 6442 court 2691a to minister 8334 in the sanctuary 6944, he shall offer 7126 his sin 2403b offering 2403b,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.

 44:28 ¶ “And it shall be with regard to an inheritance 5159 for them, [that] I am their inheritance 5159; and you shall give 5414 them no 3808 possession 272 in Israel 3478—I am their possession 272.

 44:29 “They shall eat 398 the grain offering 4503, the sin 2403b offering 2403b and the guilt 817 offering 817; and every 3605 devoted 2764a thing 2764a in Israel 3478 shall be theirs 4480 1992a.

 44:30 “The first 7225 of all 3605 the first 1061 fruits 1061 of every 3605 kind and every 3605 contribution 8641 of every 3605 kind, from all 3605 your contributions 8641, shall be for the priests 3548; you shall also give 5414 to the priest 3548 the first 7225 of your dough 6182 to cause a blessing 1293 to rest 5117 on your house 1004.

 44:31 “The priests 3548 shall not eat 398 any 3605 bird 5775 or beast 929 that has died 5038 a natural 5038 death 5038 or has been torn 2966 to pieces 2966.
