Ezekiel 3

1 Ezekiel eateth the roll. 4 God encourageth him. 15 God sheweth him the rule of prophecy. 22 God shutteth and openeth the prophet's mouth.

 3:1 Then He said 559 to me, “Son 1121 of man 120, eat 398 what 834 you find 4672; eat 398 this 384 scroll 4039, and go 1980, speak 1696 to the house 1004 of Israel 3478.”

 3:2 So I opened 6605a my mouth 6310, and He fed 398 me this 384 scroll 4039.

 3:3 He said 559 to me, “Son 1121 of man 120, feed 398 your stomach 990 and fill 4390 your body 4578 with this 384 scroll 4039 which 834 I am giving 5414 you.” Then I ate 398 it, and it was sweet 4966 as honey 1706 in my mouth 6310.

 3:4 ¶ Then He said 559 to me, “Son 1121 of man 120, go 1980 935 to the house 1004 of Israel 3478 and speak 1696 with My words 1697 to them.

 3:5 “For you are not being sent 7971 to a people 5971a of unintelligible 6012 speech 8193 or difficult 3515 language 3956, [but] to the house 1004 of Israel 3478,

 3:6 nor 3808 to many 7227a peoples 5971a of unintelligible 6012 speech 8193 or difficult 3515 language 3956, whose 834 words 1697 you cannot 3808 understand 8085. But I have sent 7971 you to them who should listen 8085 to you;

 3:7 yet the house 1004 of Israel 3478 will not be willing 14 to listen 8085 to you, since 3588 they are not willing 14 to listen 8085 to Me. Surely 3588 the whole 3605 house 1004 of Israel 3478 is stubborn 2389 4696 and obstinate 7186 3820.

 3:8 “Behold 2009, I have made 5414 your face 6440 as hard 2389 as their faces 6440 and your forehead 4696 as hard 2389 as their foreheads 4696.

 3:9 “Like emery 8068 harder 2389 than 4480 flint 6864 I have made 5414 your forehead 4696. Do not be afraid 3372a of them or be dismayed 2865 before 4480 6440 them, though 3588 they are a rebellious 4805 house 1004.”

 3:10 Moreover, He said 559 to me, “Son 1121 of man 120, take 3947 into your heart 3824 all 3605 My words 1697 which 834 I will speak 1696 to you and listen 8085 closely 241.

 3:11 “Go 1980 to the exiles 1473, to the sons 1121 of your people 5971a, and speak 1696 to them and tell 559 them, whether 518 they listen 8085 or 518 not, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.’”

 3:12 ¶ Then the Spirit 7307 lifted 5375 me up, and I heard 8085 a great 1419 rumbling 7494 sound 6963 behind 310 me, “Blessed 1288 be the glory 3519b of the LORD 3068 in His place 4725.”

 3:13 And I [heard] the sound 6963 of the wings 3671 of the living 2421b beings 2421b touching 5401a one 802 another 269 and the sound 6963 of the wheels 212 beside 5980 them, even a great 1419 rumbling 7494 sound 6963.

 3:14 So the Spirit 7307 lifted 5375 me up and took 3947 me away; and I went 1980 embittered 4751 in the rage 2534 of my spirit 7307, and the hand 3027 of the LORD 3068 was strong 2389 on me.

 3:15 Then I came 935 to the exiles 1473 who lived 3427 beside 413 the river 5104 Chebar 3529 at Tel-abib 8512, and I sat 3427 there 8033 seven 7651 days 3117 where 8033 they were living 3427, causing 8074 consternation 8074 among 8432 them.

 3:16 ¶ At the end 7097a of seven 7651 days 3117 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me, saying 559,

 3:17 “Son 1121 of man 120, I have appointed 5414 you a watchman 6822 to the house 1004 of Israel 3478; whenever you hear 8085 a word 1697 from My mouth 6310, warn 2094b them from Me.

 3:18 “When I say 559 to the wicked 7563, ‘You will surely 4191 die 4191,’ and you do not warn 2094b him or speak 1696 out to warn 2094b the wicked 7563 from his wicked 7563 way 1870 that he may live 2421a, that wicked 7563 man 7563 shall die 4191 in his iniquity 5771, but his blood 1818 I will require 1245 at your hand 3027.

 3:19 “Yet if 3588 you have warned 2094b the wicked 7563 and he does not turn 7725 from his wickedness 7562 or from his wicked 7563 way 1870, he shall die 4191 in his iniquity 5771; but you have delivered 5337 yourself 5315.

 3:20 “Again, when a righteous 6662 man 6662 turns 7725 away 7725 from his righteousness 6664 and commits 6213a iniquity 5766, and I place 5414 an obstacle 4383 before 6440 him, he will die 4191; since 3588 you have not warned 2094b him, he shall die 4191 in his sin 2403b, and his righteous 6666 deeds 6666 which 834 he has done 6213a shall not be remembered 2142; but his blood 1818 I will require 1245 at your hand 3027.

 3:21 “However, if 3588 you have warned 2094b the righteous 6662 man 6662 that the righteous 6662 should not sin 2398 and he does not sin 2398, he shall surely 2421a live 2421a because 3588 he took 2094b warning 2094b; and you have delivered 5337 yourself 5315.”

 3:22 ¶ The hand 3027 of the LORD 3068 was on me there 8033, and He said 559 to me, “Get 6965 up, go 3318 out to the plain 1237, and there 8033 I will speak 1696 to you.”

 3:23 So I got 6965 up and went 3318 out to the plain 1237; and behold 2009, the glory 3519b of the LORD 3068 was standing 5975 there 8033, like the glory 3519b which 834 I saw 7200 by the river 5104 Chebar 3529, and I fell 5307 on my face 6440.

 3:24 The Spirit 7307 then entered 935 me and made me stand 5975 on my feet 7272, and He spoke 1696 with me and said 559 to me, “Go 935, shut 5462 yourself up in your house 1004.

 3:25 “As for you, son 1121 of man 120, they will put 5414 ropes 5688 on you and bind 631 you with them so that you cannot 3808 go 3318 out among 8432 them.

 3:26 “Moreover, I will make your tongue 3956 stick 1692 to the roof 2441 of your mouth 2441 so that you will be mute 481 and cannot 3808 be a man 376 who rebukes 3198 them, for they are a rebellious 4805 house 1004.

 3:27 “But when I speak 1696 to you, I will open 6605a your mouth 6310 and you will say 559 to them, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.’ He who hears 8085, let him hear 8085; and he who refuses 2310, let him refuse 2308; for they are a rebellious 4805 house 1004.
