Ezekiel 24

1 Under the parable of a boiling pot, 6 is shewed the irrevocable destruction of Jerusalem. 15 By the sign of Ezekiel not mourning for the death of his wife, 19 is shewed the calamity of the Jews to be beyond all sorrow.

 24:1 And the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me in the ninth 8671 year 8141, in the tenth 6224 month 2320, on the tenth 6218 of the month 2320, saying 559,

 24:2 “Son 1121 of man 120, write 3789 the name 8034 of the day 3117, this 2088 very 6106 day 3117. The king 4428 of Babylon 894 has laid 5564 siege 5564 to Jerusalem 3389 this 2088 very 6106 day 3117.

 24:3 “Speak 4911b a parable 4912 to the rebellious 4805 house 1004 and say 559 to them, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “Put 8239 on the pot 5518a, put 8239 [it] on and also 1571 pour 3332 water 4325 in it;

 24:4 Put 622 in it the pieces 5409, Every 3605 good 2896a piece 5409, the thigh 3409 and the shoulder 3802; Fill 4390 [it] with choice 4005 bones 6106.

 24:5 “Take 3947 the choicest 4005 of the flock 6629, And also 1571 pile 1754 wood 6106 under 8478 the pot. Make it boil 7570 vigorously 7571. Also 1571 seethe 1310 its bones 6106 in it.”

 24:6 ¶ ‘Therefore 3651, thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “Woe 188 to the bloody 1818 city 5892b, To the pot 5518a in which 834 there is rust 2457 And whose rust 2457 has not gone 3318 out of it! Take 3318 out of it piece 5409 after piece 5409, Without 3808 making 5307 a choice 1486.

 24:7 “For her blood 1818 is in her midst 8432; She placed 7760 it on the bare 6706 rock 5553; She did not pour 8210 it on the ground 776 To cover 3680 it with dust 6083.

 24:8 “That it may cause wrath 2534 to come 5927 up to take 5358 vengeance 5359, I have put 5414 her blood 1818 on the bare 6706 rock 5553, That it may not be covered 3680.”

 24:9 ‘Therefore 3651, thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “Woe 188 to the bloody 1818 city 5892b! I also 1571 will make 1431 the pile 4071 great 1431.

 24:10 “Heap 7235a on the wood 6086, kindle 1814 the fire 784, Boil 8552 the flesh 1320 well 8552 And mix 7543 in the spices 7543, And let the bones 6106 be burned 2787.

 24:11 “Then set 5975 it empty 7386 on its coals 1513 So 4616 that it may be hot 2552 And its bronze 5178 may glow 2787 And its filthiness 2932a may be melted 5413 in it, Its rust 2457 consumed 8552.

 24:12 “She has wearied 3811 [Me] with toil 8383, Yet her great 7227a rust 2457 has not gone 3318 from her; [Let] her rust 2457 [be] in the fire 784!

 24:13 “In your filthiness 2932a is lewdness 2154. Because 3282 I [would] have cleansed 2891 you, Yet you are not clean 2891, You will not be cleansed 2891 from your filthiness 2932a again 5750 Until 5704 I have spent 5117 My wrath 2534 on you.

 24:14 “I, the LORD 3068, have spoken 1696; it is coming 935 and I will act 6213a. I will not relent 6544a, and I will not pity 2347 and I will not be sorry 5162; according to your ways 1870 and according to your deeds 5949 I will judge 8199 you,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.’”

 24:15 ¶ And the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me saying 559,

 24:16 “Son 1121 of man 120, behold 2009, I am about to take 3947 from you the desire 4261 of your eyes 5869 with a blow 4046; but you shall not mourn 5594 and you shall not weep 1058, and your tears 1832 shall not come 935.

 24:17 “Groan 602 silently 1826a; make 6213a no 3808 mourning 60 for the dead 4191. Bind 2280 on your turban 6287b and put 7760 your shoes 5275 on your feet 7272, and do not cover 5844a [your] mustache 8222 and do not eat 398 the bread 3899 of men 376.”

 24:18 So I spoke 1696 to the people 5971a in the morning 1242, and in the evening 6153 my wife 802 died 4191. And in the morning 1242 I did 6213a as I was commanded 6680.

 24:19 The people 5971a said 559 to me, “Will you not tell 5046 us what 4100 these 428 things 428 that you are doing 6213a mean for us?”

 24:20 Then I said 559 to them, “The word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me saying 559,

 24:21 ‘Speak 559 to the house 1004 of Israel 3478, “Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, ‘Behold 2009, I am about to profane 2490c My sanctuary 4720, the pride 1347b of your power 5797, the desire 4261 of your eyes 5869 and the delight 4263a of your soul 5315; and your sons 1121 and your daughters 1323 whom 834 you have left 5800a behind 5800a will fall 5307 by the sword 2719.

 24:22 ‘You will do 6213a as I have done 6213a; you will not cover 5844a [your] mustache 8222 and you will not eat 398 the bread 3899 of men 376.

 24:23 ‘Your turbans 6287b will be on your heads 7218 and your shoes 5275 on your feet 7272. You will not mourn 5594 and you will not weep 1058, but you will rot 4743 away 4743 in your iniquities 5771 and you will groan 5098 to one 376 another 251.

 24:24 ‘Thus Ezekiel 3168 will be a sign 4159 to you; according to all 3605 that he has done 6213a you will do 6213a; when it comes 935, then you will know 3045 that I am the Lord 136 GOD 3068.’”

 24:25 ¶ ‘As for you, son 1121 of man 120, will [it] not be on the day 3117 when I take 3947 from them their stronghold 4581, the joy 4885 of their pride 8597, the desire 4261 of their eyes 5869 and their heart’s 5315 delight 4853a, their sons 1121 and their daughters 1323,

 24:26 that on that day 3117 he who 6412a escapes 6412a will come 935 to you with information 2045 for [your] ears 241?

 24:27 ‘On that day 3117 your mouth 6310 will be opened 6605a to him who 6412a escaped 6412a, and you will speak 1696 and be mute 481 no 3808 longer 5750. Thus you will be a sign 4159 to them, and they will know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068.’”
