Ezekiel 14

1 God answereth idolaters according to their own heart. 6 They are exhorted to repent, for fear of judgments, by means of seduced prophets. 12 God's irrevocable sentence of famine, 15 of noisome beasts, 17 of the sword, 19 and of pestilence. 22 A remnant shall be reserved for example of others.

 14:1 Then some 376 elders 2205 of Israel 3478 came 935 to me and sat 3427 down 3427 before 6440 me.

 14:2 And the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me, saying 559,

 14:3 “Son 1121 of man 120, these 428 men 376 have set 5927 up their idols 1544 in their hearts 3820 and have put 5414 right 5227 before 5227 their faces 6440 the stumbling 4383 block 4383 of their iniquity 5771. Should I be consulted 1875 by them at all 1875?

 14:4 “Therefore 3651 speak 1696 to them and tell 559 them, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “Any 376 man 376 of the house 1004 of Israel 3478 who 834 sets 5927 up his idols 1544 in his heart 3820, puts 7760 right 5227 before 5227 his face 6440 the stumbling 4383 block 4383 of his iniquity 5771, and [then] comes 935 to the prophet 5030, I the LORD 3068 will be brought 6030a to give 6030a him an answer 6030a in the matter in view of the multitude 7230 of his idols 1544,

 14:5 in order 4616 to lay 8610 hold 8610 of the hearts 3820 of the house 1004 of Israel 3478 who 834 are estranged 2114a from Me through all 3605 their idols 1544.”’

 14:6 ¶ “Therefore 3651 say 559 to the house 1004 of Israel 3478, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “Repent 7725 and turn 7725 away 7725 from your idols 1544 and turn 7725 your faces 6440 away 7725 from all 3605 your abominations 8441.

 14:7 “For anyone 376 of the house 1004 of Israel 3478 or of the immigrants 1616 who 834 stay 1481a in Israel 3478 who separates 5144a himself from Me, sets 5927 up his idols 1544 in his heart 3820, puts 7760 right 5227 before 5227 his face 6440 the stumbling 4383 block 4383 of his iniquity 5771, and [then] comes 935 to the prophet 5030 to inquire 1875 of Me for himself, I the LORD 3068 will be brought 6030a to answer 6030a him in My own person.

 14:8 “I will set 5414 My face 6440 against that man 376 and make 7760 him a sign 226 and a proverb 4912, and I will cut 3772 him off 3772 from among 8432 My people 5971a. So you will know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068.

 14:9 ¶ “But if 3588 the prophet 5030 is prevailed 6601b upon to speak 1696 a word 1697, it is I, the LORD 3068, who have prevailed 6601b upon that prophet 5030, and I will stretch 5186 out My hand 3027 against 5921 him and destroy 8045 him from among 8432 My people 5971a Israel 3478.

 14:10 “They will bear 5375 [the punishment of] their iniquity 5771; as the iniquity 5771 of the inquirer 1875 is, so the iniquity 5771 of the prophet 5030 will be,

 14:11 in order 4616 that the house 1004 of Israel 3478 may no 3808 longer 5750 stray 8582 from Me and no 3808 longer 5750 defile 2930 themselves with all 3605 their transgressions 6588. Thus they will be My people 5971a, and I shall be their God 430,”’ declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.”

 14:12 ¶ Then the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me saying 559,

 14:13 “Son 1121 of man 120, if 3588 a country 776 sins 2398 against Me by committing 4603 unfaithfulness 4603, and I stretch 5186 out My hand 3027 against 5921 it, destroy 7665 its supply 4294 of bread 3899, send 7971 famine 7458 against it and cut 3772 off 3772 from it both man 120 and beast 929,

 14:14 even [though] these 428 three 7969 men 376, Noah 5146, Daniel 1840 and Job 347 were in its midst 8432, by their [own] righteousness 6666 they could [only] deliver 5337 themselves 5315,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.

 14:15 “If 3863 I were to cause wild 7451a beasts 2421b to pass 5674a through the land 776 and they depopulated 7921 it, and it became 1961 desolate 8077 so 4480 1097 that no 1097 one 1097 would pass 5674a through 5674a it because 4480 6440 of the beasts 2421b,

 14:16 [though] these 428 three 7969 men 376 were in its midst 8432, as I live 2416a,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “they could not deliver 5337 either 518 [their] sons 1121 or 518 [their] daughters 1323. They alone 905 would be delivered 5337, but the country 776 would be desolate 8077.

 14:17 “Or 176 [if] I should bring 935 a sword 2719 on that country 776 and say 559, ‘Let the sword 2719 pass 5674a through the country 776 and cut 3772 off 3772 man 120 and beast 929 from it,’

 14:18 even [though] these 428 three 7969 men 376 were in its midst 8432, as I live 2416a,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “they could not deliver 5337 either [their] sons 1121 or [their] daughters 1323, but they alone 905 would be delivered 5337.

 14:19 “Or 176 [if] I should send 7971 a plague 1698 against 413 that country 776 and pour 8210 out My wrath 2534 in blood 1818 on it to cut 3772 off 3772 man 120 and beast 929 from it,

 14:20 even [though] Noah 5146, Daniel 1840 and Job 347 were in its midst 8432, as I live 2416a,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “they could not deliver 5337 either 518 [their] son 1121 or 518 [their] daughter 1323. They would deliver 5337 only themselves 5315 by their righteousness 6666.”

 14:21 ¶ For thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “How 637 much 637 more 637 3588 when 3588 I send 7971 My four 702 severe 7451a judgments 8201 against 413 Jerusalem 3389: sword 2719, famine 7458, wild 7451a beasts 2421b and plague 1698 to cut 3772 off 3772 man 120 and beast 929 from it!

 14:22 “Yet, behold 2009, survivors 6413 will be left 3498 in it who will be brought 3318 out, [both] sons 1121 and daughters 1323. Behold 2009, they are going to come 3318 forth 3318 to you and you will see 7200 their conduct 1870 and actions 5949; then you will be comforted 5162 for the calamity 7463a which 834 I have brought 935 against 5921 Jerusalem 3389 for everything 3605 which 834 I have brought 935 upon it.

 14:23 “Then they will comfort 5162 you when 3588 you see 7200 their conduct 1870 and actions 5949, for you will know 3045 that I have not done 6213a in vain 2600 whatever 3605 834 I did 6213a to it,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.
