Ezekiel 12

1 The type of Ezekiel's removing. 8 It sheweth the captivity of Zedekiah. 17 Ezekiel's trembling sheweth the Jews' desolation. 21 The Jews' presumptuous proverb is reproved. 26 The speediness of the vision.

 12:1 Then the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me, saying 559,

 12:2 “Son 1121 of man 120, you live 3427 in the midst 8432 of the rebellious 4805 house 1004, who 834 have eyes 5869 to see 7200 but do not see 7200, ears 241 to hear 8085 but do not hear 8085; for they are a rebellious 4805 house 1004.

 12:3 “Therefore, son 1121 of man 120, prepare 6213a for yourself baggage 3627 for exile 1473 and go 1540 into exile 1540 by day 3119 in their sight 5869; even go 1540 into exile 1540 from your place 4725 to another 312 place 4725 in their sight 5869. Perhaps 194 they will understand 7200 though 3588 they are a rebellious 4805 house 1004.

 12:4 “Bring 3318 your baggage 3627 out by day 3119 in their sight 5869, as baggage 3627 for exile 1473. Then you will go 3318 out at evening 6153 in their sight 5869, as those going 4161 into exile 1473.

 12:5 “Dig 2864 a hole through the wall 7023 in their sight 5869 and go 3318 out through it.

 12:6 “Load 5375 [the baggage] on [your] shoulder 3802 in their sight 5869 [and] carry 3318 [it] out in the dark 5939. You shall cover 3680 your face 6440 so that you cannot 3808 see 7200 the land 776, for I have set 5414 you as a sign 4159 to the house 1004 of Israel 3478.”

 12:7 ¶ I did 6213a so 3651, as I had been commanded 6680. By day 3119 I brought 3318 out my baggage 3627 like the baggage 3627 of an exile 1473. Then in the evening 6153 I dug 2864 through the wall 7023 with my hands 3027; I went 3318 out in the dark 5939 [and] carried 5375 [the baggage] on [my] shoulder 3802 in their sight 5869.

 12:8 ¶ In the morning 1242 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me, saying 559,

 12:9 “Son 1121 of man 120, has not the house 1004 of Israel 3478, the rebellious 4805 house 1004, said 559 to you, ‘What 4100 are you doing 6213a?’

 12:10 “Say 559 to them, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “This 2088 burden 4853b [concerns] the prince 5387a in Jerusalem 3389 as well as all 3605 the house 1004 of Israel 3478 who 834 are in it.”’

 12:11 “Say 559, ‘I am a sign 4159 to you. As I have done 6213a, so 3651 it will be done 6213a to them; they will go 1980 into exile 1473, into captivity 7628b.’

 12:12 “The prince 5387a who 834 is among 8432 them will load 5375 [his baggage] on [his] shoulder 3802 in the dark 5939 and go 3318 out. They will dig 2864 a hole through the wall 7023 to bring 3318 [it] out. He will cover 3680 his face 6440 so 3282 834 that he can not see 7200 the land 776 with [his] eyes 5869.

 12:13 “I will also spread 6566 My net 7568 over 5921 him, and he will be caught 8610 in My snare 4686a. And I will bring 935 him to Babylon 894 in the land 776 of the Chaldeans 3778; yet he will not see 7200 it, though he will die 4191 there 8033.

 12:14 “I will scatter 2219 to every 3605 wind 7307 all 3605 who 834 are around 5439 him, his helpers 5828 and all 3605 his troops 102; and I will draw 7385a out a sword 2719 after 310 them.

 12:15 “So they will know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068 when I scatter 6327a them among the nations 1471 and spread 2219 them among the countries 776.

 12:16 “But I will spare 3498 a few 4557 of them from the sword 2719, the famine 7458 and the pestilence 1698 that they may tell 5608 all 3605 their abominations 8441 among the nations 1471 where 834 8033 they go 935, and may know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068.”

 12:17 ¶ Moreover, the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me saying 559,

 12:18 “Son 1121 of man 120, eat 398 your bread 3899 with trembling 7494 and drink 8354 your water 4325 with quivering 7269 and anxiety 1674.

 12:19 “Then say 559 to the people 5971a of the land 776, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068 concerning the inhabitants 3427 of Jerusalem 3389 in the land 127 of Israel 3478, “They will eat 398 their bread 3899 with anxiety 1674 and drink 8354 their water 4325 with horror 8078, because 4616 their land 776 will be stripped 3456 of its fullness 4393 on account 6440 of the violence 2555 of all 3605 who live 3427 in it.

 12:20 “The inhabited 3427 cities 5892b will be laid 2717b waste 2717b and the land 776 will be a desolation 8077. So you will know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068.”’”

 12:21 ¶ Then the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me, saying 559,

 12:22 “Son 1121 of man 120, what 4100 is this 2088 proverb 4912 you [people] have concerning 5921 the land 127 of Israel 3478, saying 559, ‘The days 3117 are long 748 and every 3605 vision 2377 fails 6’?

 12:23 “Therefore 3651 say 559 to them, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “I will make this 2088 proverb 4912 cease 7673a so that they will no 3808 longer 5750 use 4911b it as a proverb 4911b in Israel 3478.” But tell 1696 them, “The days 3117 draw 7126 near 7126 as well as the fulfillment 1697 of every 3605 vision 2377.

 12:24 “For there will no 3808 longer 5750 be any 3605 false 7723 vision 2377 or flattering 2509 divination 4738 within 8432 the house 1004 of Israel 3478.

 12:25 “For I the LORD 3068 will speak 1696, and whatever 834 word 1697 I speak 1696 will be performed 6213a. It will no 3808 longer 5750 be delayed 4900, for in your days 3117, O rebellious 4805 house 1004, I will speak 1696 the word 1697 and perform 6213a it,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.’”

 12:26 ¶ Furthermore, the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me, saying 559,

 12:27 “Son 1121 of man 120, behold 2009, the house 1004 of Israel 3478 is saying 559, ‘The vision 2377 that he sees 2372 is for many 7227a years 3117 [from now], and he prophesies 5012 of times 6256 far 7350 off 7350.’

 12:28 “Therefore 3651 say 559 to them, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “None 3808 3605 of My words 1697 will be delayed 4900 any 5750 longer 5750. Whatever 3605 834 word 1697 I speak 1696 will be performed 6213a,”’” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.
