Ezekiel 36

1 The land of Israel is comforted, both by destruction of the heathen, who spitefully used it, 8 and by the blessings of God promised unto it. 16 Israel was rejected for their sin, 21 and shall be restored without their desert. 25 The blessings of Christ's Kingdom.

 36:1 “And you, son 1121 of man 120, prophesy 5012 to the mountains 2022 of Israel 3478 and say 559, ‘O mountains 2022 of Israel 3478, hear 8085 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068.

 36:2 ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “Because 3282 the enemy 340 has spoken 559 against 5921 you, ‘Aha 1889!’ and, ‘The everlasting 5769 heights 1116 have become 1961 our possession 4181,’

 36:3 therefore 3651 prophesy 5012 and say 559, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “For good reason 3282 they have made 8074 you desolate 8074 and crushed 7602b you from every 5439 side 5439, that you would become 1961 a possession 4181 of the rest 7611 of the nations 1471 and you have been taken 5927 up in the talk 8193 and the whispering 1681 of the people 5971a.”’”

 36:4 ‘Therefore 3651, O mountains 2022 of Israel 3478, hear 8085 the word 1697 of the Lord 136 GOD 3068. Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068 to the mountains 2022 and to the hills 1389, to the ravines 650 and to the valleys 1516, to the desolate 8074 wastes 2723 and to the forsaken 5800a cities 5892b which 834 have become 1961 a prey 957 and a derision 3933 to the rest 7611 of the nations 1471 which 834 are round 5439 about 5439,

 36:5 therefore 3651 thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “Surely 518 3808 in the fire 784 of My jealousy 7068 I have spoken 1696 against 5921 the rest 7611 of the nations 1471, and against 5921 all 3605 Edom 112b, who 834 appropriated 5414 My land 776 for themselves as a possession 4181 with wholehearted 3605 3824 joy 8057 [and] with scorn 7589 of soul 5315, to drive 1644 it out for a prey 957.”

 36:6 ‘Therefore 3651 prophesy 5012 concerning 5921 the land 127 of Israel 3478 and say 559 to the mountains 2022 and to the hills 1389, to the ravines 650 and to the valleys 1516, “Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, ‘Behold 2009, I have spoken 1696 in My jealousy 7068 and in My wrath 2534 because 3282 you have endured 5375 the insults 3639 of the nations 1471.’

 36:7 “Therefore 3651 thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, ‘I have sworn 5375 3027 that surely 518 3808 the nations 1471 which 834 are around 5439 you will themselves 1992a endure 5375 their insults 3639.

 36:8 ‘But you, O mountains 2022 of Israel 3478, you will put 5414 forth your branches 6057 and bear 5375 your fruit 6529 for My people 5971a Israel 3478; for they will soon 7126 come 935.

 36:9 ‘For, behold 2009, I am for you, and I will turn 6437 to you, and you will be cultivated 5647 and sown 2232.

 36:10 ‘I will multiply 7235a men 120 on you, all 3605 the house 1004 of Israel 3478, all 3605 of it; and the cities 5892b will be inhabited 3427 and the waste 2723 places 2723 will be rebuilt 1129.

 36:11 ‘I will multiply 7235a on you man 120 and beast 929; and they will increase 7235a and be fruitful 6509; and I will cause you to be inhabited 3427 as you were formerly 6927 and will treat 3190 you better 3190 than 4480 at the first 7221. Thus you will know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068.

 36:12 ‘Yes, I will cause men 120—My people 5971a Israel 3478—to walk 1980 on you and possess 3423 you, so that you will become 1961 their inheritance 5159 and never 3808 5750 again 3254 bereave 7921 them of children 7921.’

 36:13 ¶ “Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, ‘Because 3282 they say 559 to you, “You are a devourer 398 of men 120 and have bereaved 7921 your nation 1471 of children 7921,”

 36:14 therefore 3651 you will no 3808 longer 5750 devour 398 men 120 and no 3808 longer 5750 bereave 7921 your nation 1471 of children 7921,’ declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.

 36:15 “I will not let you hear 8085 insults 3639 from the nations 1471 anymore 5750, nor 3808 will you bear 5375 disgrace 2781 from the peoples 5971a any 5750 longer 5750, nor 3808 will you cause your nation 1471 to stumble 3782 any 5750 longer 5750,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.’”

 36:16 ¶ Then the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me saying 559,

 36:17 “Son 1121 of man 120, when the house 1004 of Israel 3478 was living 3427 in their own land 127, they defiled 2930 it by their ways 1870 and their deeds 5949; their way 1870 before 6440 Me was like the uncleanness 2932a of a woman in her impurity 5079.

 36:18 “Therefore I poured 8210 out My wrath 2534 on them for the blood 1818 which 834 they had shed 8210 on the land 776, because they had defiled 2930 it with their idols 1544.

 36:19 “Also I scattered 6327a them among the nations 1471 and they were dispersed 2219 throughout the lands 776. According to their ways 1870 and their deeds 5949 I judged 8199 them.

 36:20 “When they came 935 to the nations 1471 where 834 8033 they went 935, they profaned 2490c My holy 6944 name 8034, because it was said 559 of them, ‘These 428 are the people 5971a of the LORD 3068; yet they have come 3381 out of His land 776.’

 36:21 “But I had concern 2550 for My holy 6944 name 8034, which 834 the house 1004 of Israel 3478 had profaned 2490c among the nations 1471 where 834 8033 they went 935.

 36:22 ¶ “Therefore 3651 say 559 to the house 1004 of Israel 3478, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “It is not for your sake 4616, O house 1004 of Israel 3478, that I am about to act 6213a, but for My holy 6944 name 8034, which 834 you have profaned 2490c among the nations 1471 where 834 8033 you went 935.

 36:23 “I will vindicate 6942 the holiness 6942 of My great 1419 name 8034 which has been profaned 2490c among the nations 1471, which 834 you have profaned 2490c in their midst 8432. Then the nations 1471 will know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “when I prove 6942 Myself holy 6942 among you in their sight 5869.

 36:24 “For I will take 3947 you from the nations 1471, gather 6908 you from all 3605 the lands 776 and bring 935 you into your own land 127.

 36:25 “Then I will sprinkle 2236b clean 2889 water 4325 on you, and you will be clean 2891; I will cleanse 2891 you from all 3605 your filthiness 2932a and from all 3605 your idols 1544.

 36:26 “Moreover, I will give 5414 you a new 2319 heart 3820 and put 5414 a new 2319 spirit 7307 within 7130 you; and I will remove 5493 the heart 3820 of stone 68 from your flesh 1320 and give 5414 you a heart 3820 of flesh 1320.

 36:27 “I will put 5414 My Spirit 7307 within 7130 you and cause 6213a you to walk 1980 in My statutes 2706, and you will be careful 8104 to observe 6213a My ordinances 4941.

 36:28 “You will live 3427 in the land 776 that I gave 5414 to your forefathers 1; so you will be My people 5971a, and I will be your God 430.

 36:29 “Moreover, I will save 3467 you from all 3605 your uncleanness 2932a; and I will call 7121 for the grain 1715 and multiply 7235a it, and I will not bring 5414 a famine 7458 on you.

 36:30 “I will multiply 7235a the fruit 6529 of the tree 6086 and the produce 8570 of the field 7704, so 4616 that you will not receive 3947 again 5750 the disgrace 2781 of famine 7458 among the nations 1471.

 36:31 “Then you will remember 2142 your evil 7451a ways 1870 and your deeds 4611 that were not good 2896a, and you will loathe 6962a yourselves in your own sight 6440 for your iniquities 5771 and your abominations 8441.

 36:32 “I am not doing 6213a [this] for your sake 4616,” declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “let it be known 3045 to you. Be ashamed 954 and confounded 3637 for your ways 1870, O house 1004 of Israel 3478!”

 36:33 ¶ ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “On the day 3117 that I cleanse 2891 you from all 3605 your iniquities 5771, I will cause the cities 5892b to be inhabited 3427, and the waste 2723 places 2723 will be rebuilt 1129.

 36:34 “The desolate 8074 land 776 will be cultivated 5647 instead 8478 of being 1961 a desolation 8077 in the sight 5869 of everyone 3605 who passes 5674a by.

 36:35 “They will say 559, ‘This 1976 desolate 8074 land 776 has become 1961 like the garden 1588 of Eden 5731; and the waste 2720b, desolate 8074 and ruined 2040 cities 5892b are fortified 1219 [and] inhabited 3427.’

 36:36 “Then the nations 1471 that are left 7604 round 5439 about 5439 you will know 3045 that I, the LORD 3068, have rebuilt 1129 the ruined 2040 places [and] planted 5193 that which was desolate 8074; I, the LORD 3068, have spoken 1696 and will do 6213a it.”

 36:37 ¶ ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “This 2088 also 5750 I will let the house 1004 of Israel 3478 ask 1875 Me to do 6213a for them: I will increase 7235a their men 120 like a flock 6629.

 36:38 “Like the flock 6629 for sacrifices 6944, like the flock 6629 at Jerusalem 3389 during her appointed 4150 feasts 4150, so 3651 will the waste 2720b cities 5892b be filled 4392 with flocks 6629 of men 120. Then they will know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068.”’”
