Ezekiel 23

1 The whoredoms of Aholah and Aholibah. 22 Aholibah is to be plagued by her lovers. 36 The prophet reproveth the adulteries of them both, 45 and sheweth their judgments.

 23:1 The word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me again, saying 559,

 23:2 “Son 1121 of man 120, there were two 8147 women 802, the daughters 1323 of one 259 mother 517;

 23:3 and they played 2181 the harlot 2181 in Egypt 4714. They played 2181 the harlot 2181 in their youth 5271; there 8033 their breasts 7699a were pressed 4600 and there 8033 their virgin 1331 bosom 1717 was handled 6213b.

 23:4 “Their names 8034 were Oholah 170 the elder 1419 and Oholibah 172 her sister 269. And they became 1961 Mine, and they bore 3205 sons 1121 and daughters 1323. And [as for] their names 8034, Samaria 8111 is Oholah 170 and Jerusalem 3389 is Oholibah 172.

 23:5 ¶ “Oholah 170 played 2181 the harlot 2181 while 8478 she was Mine 8478; and she lusted 5689 after 5921 her lovers 157, after 413 the Assyrians 804b, [her] neighbors 7138,

 23:6 who were clothed 3847 in purple 8504, governors 6346 and officials 5461, all 3605 of them desirable 2531 young 970 men 970, horsemen 6571b riding 7392 on horses 5483b.

 23:7 “She bestowed 5414 her harlotries 8457 on them, all 3605 of whom [were] the choicest 4005 men 1121 of Assyria 804b; and with all 3605 whom 834 she lusted 5689 after, with all 3605 their idols 1544 she defiled 2930 herself.

 23:8 “She did not forsake 5800a her harlotries 8457 from [the time in] Egypt 4714; for in her youth 5271 men had lain 7901 with her, and they handled 6213b her virgin 1331 bosom 1717 and poured 8210 out their lust 8457 on her.

 23:9 “Therefore 3651, I gave 5414 her into the hand 3027 of her lovers 157, into the hand 3027 of the Assyrians 1121 804b, after 5921 whom 834 she lusted 5689.

 23:10 “They uncovered 1540 her nakedness 6172; they took 3947 her sons 1121 and her daughters 1323, but they slew 2026 her with the sword 2719. Thus she became 1961 a byword 8034 among women 802, and they executed 6213a judgments 8196 on her.

 23:11 ¶ “Now her sister 269 Oholibah 172 saw 7200 [this], yet she was more 4480 corrupt 7843 in her lust 5691 than 4480 she, and her harlotries 8457 were more 4480 than 4480 the harlotries 2183 of her sister 269.

 23:12 “She lusted 5689 after 413 the Assyrians 1121 804b, governors 6346 and officials 5461, the ones 7138 near 7138, magnificently 4358 dressed 3847, horsemen 6571b riding 7392 on horses 5483b, all 3605 of them desirable 2531 young 970 men 970.

 23:13 “I saw 7200 that she had defiled 2930 herself; they both 8147 took the same 259 way 1870.

 23:14 “So she increased 3254 her harlotries 8457. And she saw 7200 men 376 portrayed 2707 on the wall 7023, images 6754 of the Chaldeans 3778 portrayed 2710 with vermilion 8350,

 23:15 girded 2289 with belts 232 on their loins 4975, with flowing 5628 turbans 2871 on their heads 7218, all 3605 of them looking 4758 like officers 7991c, like 1823 the Babylonians 1121 894 [in] Chaldea 3778, the land 776 of their birth 4138.

 23:16 “When she saw 4758 5869 them she lusted 5689 after 5921 them and sent 7971 messengers 4397 to them in Chaldea 3778.

 23:17 “The Babylonians 1121 894 came 935 to her to the bed 4904 of love 1730 and defiled 2930 her with their harlotry 8457. And when she had been 2930 defiled 2930 by them, she became 3363 disgusted 3363 with them.

 23:18 “She uncovered 1540 her harlotries 8457 and uncovered 1540 her nakedness 6172; then I became 3363 disgusted 3363 with her, as I had become 5361 disgusted 5361 with her sister 269.

 23:19 “Yet she multiplied 7235a her harlotries 8457, remembering 2142 the days 3117 of her youth 5271, when 834 she played 2181 the harlot 2181 in the land 776 of Egypt 4714.

 23:20 “She lusted 5689 after 5921 their paramours 6370, whose 834 flesh 1320 is [like] the flesh 1320 of donkeys 2543 and whose issue 2231 is [like] the issue 2231 of horses 5483b.

 23:21 “Thus you longed 6485 for the lewdness 2154 of your youth 5271, when the Egyptians 4714 handled 6213b your bosom 1717 because 4616 of the breasts 7699a of your youth 5271.

 23:22 ¶ “Therefore 3651, O Oholibah 172, thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, ‘Behold 2009 I will arouse 5782 your lovers 157 against 5921 you, from whom 834 you were alienated 5361, and I will bring 935 them against 5921 you from every 5439 side 5439:

 23:23 the Babylonians 1121 894 and all 3605 the Chaldeans 3778, Pekod 6489 and Shoa 7772 and Koa 6970, [and] all 3605 the Assyrians 1121 804b with them; desirable 2531 young 970 men 970, governors 6346 and officials 5461 all 3605 of them, officers 7991c and men 7121 of renown 7121, all 3605 of them riding 7392 on horses 5483b.

 23:24 ‘They will come 935 against 5921 you with weapons 2021, chariots 7393 and wagons 1534, and with a company 6951 of peoples 5971a. They will set 7760 themselves against 5921 you on every 5439 side 5439 with buckler 6793c and shield 4043 and helmet 6959; and I will commit 5414 the judgment 4941 to them, and they will judge 8199 you according to their customs 4941.

 23:25 ‘I will set 5414 My jealousy 7068 against you, that they may deal 6213a with you in wrath 2534. They will remove 5493 your nose 639 and your ears 241; and your survivors 319 will fall 5307 by the sword 2719. They will take 3947 your sons 1121 and your daughters 1323; and your survivors 319 will be consumed 398 by the fire 784.

 23:26 ‘They will also strip 6584 you of your clothes 899b and take 3947 away your beautiful 8597 jewels 3627.

 23:27 ‘Thus I will make your lewdness 2154 and your harlotry 2184 [brought] from the land 776 of Egypt 4714 to cease 7673a from you, so that you will not lift 5375 up your eyes 5869 to them or remember 2142 Egypt 4714 anymore 5750.’

 23:28 “For thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, ‘Behold 2009, I will give 5414 you into the hand 3027 of those whom 834 you hate 8130, into the hand 3027 of those from whom 834 you were alienated 5361.

 23:29 ‘They will deal 6213a with you in hatred 8135, take 3947 all 3605 your property 3018, and leave 5800a you naked 5903 and bare 6181. And the nakedness 6172 of your harlotries 2183 will be uncovered 1540, both your lewdness 2154 and your harlotries 8457.

 23:30 ‘These 428 things 428 will be done 6213a to you because you have played 2181 the harlot 2181 with the nations 1471, because 5921 834 you have defiled 2930 yourself with their idols 1544.

 23:31 ‘You have walked 1980 in the way 1870 of your sister 269; therefore I will give 5414 her cup 3563a into your hand 3027.’

 23:32 “Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, ‘You will drink 8354 your sister’s 269 cup 3563a, Which is deep 6013 and wide 7342. You will be laughed 6712 at and held in derision 3933; It contains 3557 much 4767.

 23:33 ‘You will be filled 4390 with drunkenness 7943 and sorrow 3015, The cup 3563a of horror 8047 and desolation 8077, The cup 3563a of your sister 269 Samaria 8111.

 23:34 ‘You will drink 8354 it and drain 4680 it. Then you will gnaw 1633b its fragments 2789 And tear 5423 your breasts 7699a; for I have spoken 1696,’ declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068.

 23:35 “Therefore 3651, thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, ‘Because 3282 you have forgotten 7911 Me and cast 7993 Me behind 310 your back 1458, bear 5375 now 1571 the [punishment] of your lewdness 2154 and your harlotries 8457.’”

 23:36 ¶ Moreover, the LORD 3068 said 559 to me, “Son 1121 of man 120, will you judge 8199 Oholah 170 and Oholibah 172? Then declare 5046 to them their abominations 8441.

 23:37 “For they have committed 5003 adultery 5003, and blood 1818 is on their hands 3027. Thus they have committed 5003 adultery 5003 with their idols 1544 and even 1571 caused their sons 1121, whom 834 they bore 3205 to Me, to pass 5674a through 5674a [the fire] to them as food 402.

 23:38 “Again 5750, they have done 6213a this 2088 to Me: they have defiled 2930 My sanctuary 4720 on the same 1931 day 3117 and have profaned 2490c My sabbaths 7676.

 23:39 “For when they had slaughtered 7819 their children 1121 for their idols 1544, they entered 935 My sanctuary 4720 on the same 1931 day 3117 to profane 2490c it; and lo 2009, thus 3541 they did 6213a within 8432 My house 1004.

 23:40 ¶ “Furthermore 637, they have even 3588 sent 7971 for men 376 who come 935 from afar 4801, to whom 834 a messenger 4397 was sent 7971; and lo 2009, they came 935—for whom 834 you bathed 7364, painted 3583 your eyes 5869 and decorated 5710b yourselves 5710b with ornaments 5716;

 23:41 and you sat 3427 on a splendid 3519a couch 4296 with a table 7979 arranged 6186a before 6440 it on which you had set 7760 My incense 7004 and My oil 8081.

 23:42 “The sound 6963 of a carefree 7961 multitude 1995 was with her; and drunkards 5433b were brought 935 from the wilderness 4057b with men 376 of the common 7230 120 sort 7230 120. And they put 5414 bracelets 6781a on the hands 3027 of the women and beautiful 8597 crowns 5850 on their heads 7218.

 23:43 ¶ “Then I said 559 concerning her who was worn 1087 out by adulteries 5004, ‘Will they now 6258 commit 2181 adultery 2181 with her when she is [thus]?’

 23:44 “But they went 935 in to her as they would go 935 in to a harlot 2181. Thus 3651 they went 935 in to Oholah 170 and to Oholibah 172, the lewd 2154 women 802.

 23:45 “But they, righteous 6662 men 376, will judge 8199 them with the judgment 4941 of adulteresses 5003 and with the judgment 4941 of women who shed 8210 blood 1818, because 3588 they are adulteresses 5003 and blood 1818 is on their hands 3027.

 23:46 ¶ “For thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, ‘Bring 5927 up a company 6951 against 5921 them and give 5414 them over to terror 2113 and plunder 957.

 23:47 ‘The company 6951 will stone 7275 them with stones 68 and cut 1254a them down 1254a with their swords 2719; they will slay 2026 their sons 1121 and their daughters 1323 and burn 8313 their houses 1004 with fire 784.

 23:48 ‘Thus I will make lewdness 2154 cease 7673a from the land 776, that all 3605 women 802 may be admonished 3256 and not commit 6213a lewdness 2154 as you have done.

 23:49 ‘Your lewdness 2154 will be requited 5414 upon you, and you will bear 5375 the penalty 2399 of [worshiping] your idols 1544; thus you will know 3045 that I am the Lord 136 GOD 3068.’”
